ur not failing school because of deepwoken ur failing school because you're irresponsible and spend too much time playing games for meaningless gratification
I couldn't have said it better myself. Its hard to explain to a new player or someone who started in verse 2 how fresh deepwoken felt during its release. People may say its in a better state because it became more like a sandbox, but I believe deepwoken at its peak was when nobody knew anything and people were out exploring islands etc it felt like there was always something to do.
Thank you bro for this, its something i wanted to hear for a very long time a person i can relate to, deepwoken is a game that you want to drop sometimes but the memories you had keeps you in it even if its for a brief moment.
The main reason i found deepwoken so captivating at first was it's atmosphere and exploration. Yet after a thousand hours, I've come to realize the world is so big yet so empty. Towns barely had any npc's side from a few guards and item sellers. Major islands like erisia have 3 static mob spawns for leveling and that's it. Starswept valley has literally nothing but static mob spawns and a quest you do once. Npc's in factions don't have any variety, every time the ministry hunts you they're always shadow cast with daggers. Why not give them different talents, attunements or weapons? Why do etrean guards only use spears/swords and gale? They literally have the frostdraw trainer in their town. Not to mention how things just spontaneously spawn out of this air. Sea islands, and monsters just pop into existence. Why can't we have more mob spawning interactions like the deep owl or the sharko eating a corpse? Why not add pathfinder npc's that just wander around erisia or npc's with oaths in starswept, or black divers with bell in the depths? Every weekly update is just a new legendary weapon or mantra. Nothing meaningful has been added to the world since layer 2.
Yes I definitely agree. Initially, the concept of the depth of exploration is a very convincing facade. but once you play enough, everything is reduced to gameplay. It feels less real, less immersive. You realize that while there is enough to hook a new player, the game is lacking genuine life in a whole lot of aspects. The entire reason why the game is so immersive in the first place is precisely because you haven't seen everything. Once you have, you see the bigger picture. which is exactly why I think the developers should be focusing more on the lore, world-building, and immersion of the game rather than adding new pvp content, but I do understand that it can be hard to add that when constricted to a weekly schedule.
I have only started playing this game since June of this year. And for me, this game is just fun because of the progression and the permadeath mechanic. It's fun because every life is a new life, a new path.
my fav deepwoken moment is when agamatsu acted out the rising thunder > grand javelin > radiant kick >thunder hblade crit combo irl and when he broke his monitor over oathless
I love it. I don't think of the past too much but now that I think about it, the more I miss the game because of the memories I made in it. The ganks we fought, the ones we've lost, the moments when we turned the tide of the battle in our favor, when we escaped a situation when we were outnumbered, a temporary alliance with the opps just to win a flooding guild. Not only that, I remember meeting kind people. The game had this "No hand holding" description before. But one person did held my hands in the depths and helped me escape. I will cherish that memory. The first time the whole squad pulled up to duke Erisia and we got clapped really hard. The first time we sailed together exploring from vigils, entering that small gap through summer isle then songseeker, then hive. Then trying to climb the hive with them all. Meeting the mother thresher and getting nearly devoured only to get saved at the last moment and escaping together, sitting on the campfires while were all low hp. Getting your first bell and your first legendary bell was phenomenal. I also remember randomly allocating points then focusing it on strength thinking it will increase my damage lol. Also the enchants were so hard to find. Sometimes you'll find one but its stats are shit. Its either you get an enchant or a high hp equipment. Then theres the first time I got ganked and we ran the ones throughout the whole vigils. I love this game.
I started when verse 2 released but I think it was still peak during then. Me and my friends were exploring the world, discovering new islands, it just felt fresh. This new sandboxy version has driven me and many of my friends away from the game
Deepwoken is the only reason I still play roblox. It is truely a masterpiece limited by the platform, yet there is no engine i can think off that would improve the game if ported over. Its a game that exists ina state of limbo of worst game ive ever played, and I cant wait to play tommorrow. Cant believe it has been 3 years since release. I can only pray for the improvement of the community so the devs can maintain an update schedule thats healthy for the game.
once i knew that u can wipe in deepwoken i bought this game and NEVER WIPED or got wiped by anybody but myself. The time that took everyone in the game to wipe me EVEN MOBS OR PLAYERS was 1 week ago or something like that. I first time got wiped by a player and never got wiped by mobs... I was shocked but kinda relieved that i got first time wiped. 😂took long enough.
This actually almost made me cry. I miss the old deepwoken. But when I'm helping someone new play the game, turn on the music at lower erisia... I feel relaxed, almost. Amazed at how far we've come. Thank you for this video.
I don't see why views should matter for this topic. This video is just a love letter to the game. I didn't make this video intending for it to get a trillion views, I simply made it because it was something I wanted to create.
@@cornstalk75 i know it just kinda sucks that u unintentionally had the same idea as me and i put a lot of effort into it for low recognition and u came after me and got a lot more no hate its just kinda lame for me
I understand the perspective of this video, but as a day 1 player, the game has grown immensely, nostalgia is nice but from a gameplay perspective the game is simply just better, I’m not even inherently that good I cap at 1000 elo but that doesn’t undermine the effect that the game is still inherently good. The game felt “harder” and more challenging because the community simply learned the game, and if they kept luck the game would’ve died because no one likes relying on RnG to simply play the game. I do agree that there has been some wrongs done but overall the game has changed for the better, I prefer slower pace progression but no when it was up to level 60 which tools days out of a casual players time, but not 4 hours of gameplay a casual player can grind either going as low as 2 hours or pess
As much as I will say deepwoken is trash and I’ll hate on it, it is the funnest game that Ive played in a while, deepwoken is the only game that has consistent upd (even thought they can be underwhelming) it’s a consistent amount of content being released, leveling system like no other, diversity in builds and lore that is hard to get to, deep woken is a good game
Im failing school because of deepwoken

a beautiful survival exploration game turned into a minmaxing hell where everyone has a perfect overpowered mage build

i remember like the first week of the games release i dont think ive ever had that much fun in a game
And enchants felt so rewarding to obtain I do miss the luck factor people may hate it but they dont understand how satisfying it was
All you need to feel nostalgic is to go to etris turn on music and then sail slowly to lower erisia
real. etris music theme feels so calming

nah its not even about nostalgia they rly did just disregard all worldbuilding and atmosphere for the sake of weekly updates
Exactly, I don't even hate them because I respect it but it's still... it still ruined the game.
