      @@MrMighty0zAnd Omega is raising prices like crazy. So there's that . Omega is getting greedy aswell. Stop acting like Omega is some unsung hero in this regard at the rate Omega is going the Seamaster and Speedmaster will be 10k in no time and the fact Omega's marketing is soo embarrassing I wouldn't be caught dead 💀 with an Omega on the wrist. Zoe Kravitz seriously LOL. Omega isn't the kool brand they used to be. Not by a long shot only vintage Omega has a serious cool factor. Alot of Omegas new stuff just looks cheap

      Exactly this. I have a Tudor and thought, when I can afford it I'll get the Rolex. I can now afford it. But, the old saying, the juice isn't worth the squeeze, comes to mind. A watch doesn't matter enough to me to be extorted. Looking at an RGM 151 instead of an explorer.

    I went to Berlin few weeks ago, visited both of Rolex shops. In both they werent selling anything, but in one of them they had watches pre-owned. Prices were very very similar to a new watch, for example Explorer 2 from 2000s was couple of hunders below the new Explorer 2. Its just not worth it. They also tried to sell me a datejust ( which it was what i was looking for new) from 90' for crazy close to Retail price on new datejusts.

    I’ll also say that the ADs couldn’t have picked worse timing to acquire tons of inventory for the CPO with demand really cooling for high end watches.

    • @cookiemonster7514
      @cookiemonster7514 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The ADs for years have been back dooring the popular watches to a few big grey dealers who also wholesale to other watch dealers. So Rolex did the CPO to stop the ADs playing these games. Eventually you will only ever sell to the AD, killing the grey market, and eventually the CPO price will come down inline with market forces - the AD is to become the 1st and 2nd hand dealer. Rolex are feckin clever, and had enough of grey market ripping people off and ADs not allowing people to buy a watch.

      @@garyboyle695 Bro that's the whole point of CPO. Clients will eventually always sell back to the AD for a higher price or for same as the grey dealer price. Rolex hope the AD just forgets the grey dealer as they can just run CPO themselves and make just as much commission although taxable. Not under the table. To be fair, what can Rolex do if their managers in the AD are racketeering with the big grey dealers. I personally will never pay grey market rolex prices.

    • @WordMadeFlesh777
      @WordMadeFlesh777 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cookiemonster7514Rolex knows and essentially condones grey the grey market, and the hype that ultimately benefits Rolex.. Rolex could definitely stop most of the grey market easily with serial numbers and tracking they know exactly which watches are going where. They don’t stop it because the hype makes people wish they could pay msrp and when price increases come people are already paying those prices lol.

    Certified pre-owned cars is not what it seems. I purchased one a while back and it proved to mean that it is just a way to sell a car. It cost a few hundred $ for the dealer to slap that warranty on a car. It is really just a prepurchased extended warranty. In my case the inspection was a tech that checked boxes on a list and signed it. My car has an oil leak. There were 3 spots on that list for oil leaks. It was a big leak that glossed over.
    I am sure Rolex CPO is yhe same.
