Even though I would describe myself as a metalhead, I listen to a wide range of musical genres. When MTV first came on the air, I was exposed to artists that I would never have heard of. I may be biased, but I think the 80's were the best no matter what style of music you like. Songs like this touch my heart even more so after all these years! ❤️
December 1987 my friend’s parents owned a speaker company called Rockford Fosgate. The company had a trade show van. My friend commandeered that van of 10,000 watts and played this song until it literally passed through me with every beat. Great song. I’ll never forget that moment.
Rockford Fosgate, wow. My cousin is an audio enthusiast with some higher end equipment. He still attends the trade shows in DC. What an amazing opportunity to meet someone who is part of the industry.

This single reached the US Top Ten in 1985 and the other single from that album "How to be a Millionaire" reached number 20 in the US meaning the album "How to be a Zillionaire" had respectable sales in the US. This helped ABC being kept from being dropped by the record company as the album and singles kinda flopped in the UK.
But at least it's a live band, unlike the original recording, which was just Fry, Mark White, bassist Brad Lang, a drum machine, plus Eden and David Yarritu (video only on the last two).
