9 months without boot ners feel like 9 years
seeing this ep after about 1 year of the pred edge episode (when seeing Josh was so furious and disappointed about the Edge, and Jay trying his best to defend the boots for 30 mins because he has a good relationship with the brand) is so satisfying. After 1 year, Jay can finally say the Edge is crap. In addition, Josh said in that episode "If Adidas used Hybrid Touch upper for the Edge, it would be brilliant". Now, he has a Hybrid Touch for the Accuracy 😂 Adidas listened to Josh lol

Finally no carbon talk, I'd like to take credit for being the first person to notice this change 😅 sorry for bothering u guys in the comments section but I just really wanted u guys to address this no carbon situation, and u didn't disappoint! Thanks ! Awesome content 👏 also interesting note is that I have seen several samples given to some youtubers that actually have the carbitex, and I'm also guessing some pro players still have the carbon

Seeing as Adidas are losing money at the moment (due to the Yeezy split and their share price going down) removing Carbitex and the subsequent licensing cost (as Carbitex isn't an Adidas technology) is a way of them saving money.
I think when it comes the new X soleplate, Josh had it right in the first place when he said it was less stiff then speedflow. Once they messed with it, it was fair game to continue to do so, to the point where you don’t even notice carbitex insert was gone.
You do though, it was the only special part to the boot honestly

I was really surprised when I found out that they removed the carbitex plate. But when I saw that they increased the price from 280 to 300 (at least in Germany) I was shocked. And both things midway through the speed speedportals life span is just crazy
As a big fan of the Nitrocharge’s and LZ’s , I was super glad to see HybridTouch come back. The fact that adidas had it available and haven’t used it since was criminal

The other mid-lifecycle change that comes to mind was the removal of the pimple/smallpox bumps on the Nike Magista Opus 2.

The large swoosh placement on the new MDSs is just bliss. Pure bliss. I love it. Just classic Mercurial. Gets me back the legacy models, those were some great times. I personally liked the bold AIR branding on the standard colorways, but this is just timeless. But I think I can speak for most Mercurial fans, if Nike just stuck with this style of graphics no one would complain.
What Adidas did is bean counter shenanigans. Saving a some money on removing a feature that has been heavily marketed, one of the big reasons a prospective buyer would be interested in buying an X these last few years. Sure the newer all plastic soleplate will work just fine. But it feels sleazy. In the end of the day they are a business that wants to keep a profit margin. But at least the Predator and Copa are a lot more compelling than their predecessors. I wouldn’t mind wearing them for a full season.

Can we all agree that this model was already in the works before Edge launched? If we can agree to that, can we all then agree how ridiculous Adidas are for going ahead with launching Edge. They launched it for the sake of launching it
I actually think you can get more powerful clean shots from a football boot. My 2013 Mizunos Wave Ignitus boots (they recently brought a limited edition copy out) hit differently! I’m going to buy these 14:20 laceless boots as they genuinely look to have a similar feel in the striking area
Since removing carbitex and keeping the price the same I guess I’ll go back to mercurial. Truly disappointed with Adidas because I really wanted to buy the white out and black out boots..
Try out the Mizuno Alpha Made in Japan, since you're somewhat in between boots. The Karvo insert gives the same effect as the Carbitex. It's pricier in a lot of markets, but well worth it for the durability. You can also them from Asia sellers like Tokyofootball for around $250, which is just in line with the big brands.

I think the new Dream Speeds look great - defo remind me of the 2010 WC superfly 2.
But mainly placement of the swooshes here highlight how nice these could actually look if that was the default…
You guys think the fact that they lost yezzys and are trying to cut costs on there boots right now?
My son has about 30 pair of these x.Speedportal+ and .1. Got the new pink and white ones on Thursday. They definitely is more flex in them than the green or blue ones that were in the fall. Still a good boot, however probably won’t buy anymore of the newer colors since I feel it’s an inferior product

which one do you prefer does not having carbitex actually feel more comfy or are the green and blue ones better through and through?
@@deathdxdxdx907 the new ones my son said are more snug. The heel part is thicker so it makes the shoe a tighter fit. Especially the all white ones. In regards to the lace version, the pink ones in laces and the new yellow with laces are way smaller shoe profile. My son wears a size 2.0 and the pink with laces is about a quarter size too small even though it is 2.0. He has to wear them with no inserts to fit his feet when compared to the 2.0 with laces of any other previous color. Oddly enough, the Messi shoe that is orange (current color) - is the same as the previous Speedportal and it fits great but the pink and yellow are a hard no. Lol
BTW purple is the official color of Saudi arabia for the high profile events, we always use purple/lavender carpets which is inspired buy the flowers of thebasir region in saudi. I am saudi and can confirm this 👍

The Accuracy gave me Predator Pulse vibes because of the zone the grip elements cover, but Rayne Wooney is right, the Accuracy looks very inspired in T90 laser 4. Also, We should talk on the fact the GX doesn´t have ACC. END OF AN ERA.
Would agree with Josh, I view Adidas ditching carbitex is part of cost cutting measures. Stiffness is a lame reason considering it is featured in 2.5 generations of X. My guess on adidas business decisions is currently affected by global supply issues as well as their altercation with yeezy, probably.
Maybe you can call this style of boot "striking boots" since they're made to emphasise striking the ball, not just for shooting but also long passes crosses corners and free kicks

Being an American player in the Pacific Northwest I play 90% of the time on at pitches in the pissing rain i naturally want ag boots. However Nikes ag models are sold out/ never there in the first place on all websites and in stores and Unisports ag boots don’t ship outside of Europe. Should i go for boots with a conical shaped stud pattern such as the Morelias, Tiempos, copa pure ect? Ps love the podcast

Just wait for the mid-cycle refresh of the Predator Accuracy, where adidas get rid of the SL rubber elements and bump up the price by $10, with no explanation given!

@@letterkeys4440 My main boots are the Mizuno Morelia Neo 3 MIJ non-beta, but they don't have those in the SG. I generally like a more lightweight responsive feel.
If price isn’t an issue, I say between tiempo and copa. Can’t go wrong with some sg premiers as well.

Those Predators Accuracy are better than Predator Mutator ? They look ugly for me !!! Even the Predator Pogba the color is great, but they look chuncky, like Tortas o Bolillos… nothing stylized
