Lots of people wondering about the braces... back in November 2020, I started down a path to correct an overbite that I had due to jaw discomfort. I chose the path did not require surgery, but took the most time. I was using removable appliances that utilized rubber bands to hold my jaw in place, which I removed whenever I was recording so I could talk clearly. We are now on the home stretch and the braces are to straighten everything back out. The best part... no jaw discomfort!
Did you also get a haircut? Just noticed you don't have the long blonde locks anymore.

Exactly..the hobby is laughable anymore..you would have thought most would have learned from pandemic prices..prior to that everything was dirt cheap i remember when NT boxes were the price of topps chrome hobby😂..also 30k for desmond ridder😂😂
It's gross Sam Howell 50k but ehh if the private investors buy them join the party and keep ripping
$55k for Sam Howell, a 5th round pick who played in exactly 1 game last season, the final meaningless game, went 11-19 for 169 yards, 1TD-1int. Sure it's a shield, but good lord, $55k is just absurd
It's a bubble...it'll burst. It's hilarious though, you're right. Corbin Carroll is good, but he's not even an elite player yet...paying that much for what could be a throw away player in 2 years...
@@mjt07f yeah the look back vids in a couple of years is going to be crazy. Imagine being a collector back in 2009/10 and spending $50k on Mark Sanchez cards because he went to back to back AFC title games in his first 2 years.

I see this from time to time and it makes me scratch my head...
I think the grades and grading company had a lot to do with the price disparity. The $100k was a PSA 9, the $50k was a BGS 9 and the "cheap" one was a BGS 8.5. If that napkin patch version got a PSA 10, it'd probably be 6 figures too. Of the 3 pulled out of 5, the PSA 9 may as well be a 10 since nothing better exists.
Also the patches on the 2 highest sales were way better than the patch on the lowest one

An undefeated Mr. Irrelevant at least has a good story. And the kid is a quiet, chill dude who somehow became a top 3 QB in the 7 game span he was shoved into. That kind of underdog grit is popular. Time will tell though of course if he's legit. If he is, these current, ridiculous prices for his stuff will be considered relatively cheap. I may be biased though since I own a Purdy 1/1 from Optic and I'm rooting for the kid. But mine came from a free entry into a break so not a whole lot of initial investment there haha.
After watching Trey Lance this weekend, I hope Purdy is the answer!

What a week for sports cards!!! I can’t get nowhere near that lucky in a break! But Congratulations to all who won and those who pulled their own cards! I did buy 24 packs of 2023 Bowman Baseball mega box without the mojos for $35. I think I did ok. Pulled a pile of 1st chromes no D. Jones though but several of the better rookies for 23. Looking at cards sells I probably at least double my money if not more. But I’m a cop not a seller! Just happy to rip some wax! And I get to keep everything! That’s a Big win for me!

Sadly the burrow is worthless. Panini told me at the national they don’t deal with any expired redemptions. We had a customer who hit a Ezekiel elliot RPA redemption that just turned out to be worthless
And the Brock Purdy mass psychosis continues. $100k for a guy with 6 starts coming off of major throwing arm surgery. You can literally get every major HoF QB RC from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s in PSA 9 for that, and still have enough left over to get then a solid RC collection of WRs and RBs. Just absurd.
At least it’s slightly better than spending 30k on a Ridder lolol

Basketball cards rookie prices are insane. No patch no auto 1/1 of a player who won’t win ROY fetches more than a Corbin Carroll Autographed 1/1.
All NFL players unproven. Pickett off to a good start 7/9, that is TD's/INT's. Super risky investment. We'll see by like Week #9 in the Season this year. Purdy had a great Super Bowl, what a joke he is.

#1 was the best pull for sure. I don't care for the other player's pull because I don't believe they will contribute much to their teams going forward. That guy in the #1 slot is a winner, and I see many championships in his future.

I'd say Pickett is a safe bet. He's in good hands. Tomlin is a future HOF coach in his prime and will almost certainly ensure Pickett is successful. Meaning likely at least 2 championships if he has a full career. I'm a Browns fan and can't stand the Steelers, but damnit, they know how to coach.

He's pedestrian with a perpetual contender and top of the line HC who could drag a bag of wet laundry to the playoffs. Of all the rookies, Pickett has the best organizational support system. I think that has a lot to do with his expected success and value. And I say that as an anti-fan of the Steelers. Go Browns.

On another note, the way the breaker is handling the Pickett is absolutely unacceptable! Look at all 4 fingers on all 4 corners. He even grabs the card and slides his fingers to the corners two different times. A breaker should never ever be close to the corners. I'm sure people will defend him and he'll say nothing happened. But, the skin from his fingers are going down over the card so he's definitely holding too tight.
NEVER grab a card by the corners, period! No excuse for it!
