    look at that, a video you did 9 years ago just helped me out for the air ride on the rat cart. just ordered the controler kit and grabbed up these adapters too. :)

    Monroe uses small hard plastic lines for several reasons. The line is inexpensive, durable, it's immune to weather and age rot, it can be routed in tight places away from exhaust, and most important it doesn't allow air to migrate from one shock to the other in the balanced system fast enough to effect handling in long high-speed turns.
    Big airline is a failure.

      I’ve used this method many times without failure. I’m sure they had great intent to use the smaller line and the reason I’ve used larger airline in the past has nothing to do with how the shocks were intended to be used.

    Does this help it lift better and quicker? Thanks for your time

    I want to screw a schrader valve directly on to the shock without any additional lines to run. Is that possible?

      you ever figure this out?

    The adapters that come with the Monroe shocks have an indent in the center where you can drill it out with a quarter inch drill bit and the line will fit directly through it and into the shock and you can use the factory plastic adapters :-)

      Interesting, but how is the line "locked" into the shock? If I drill out the center of the factory plastic adapters, the "teeth" inside the adapter will not be there to grab the line and hold on to it.

    A few questions:
    1) On the fittings on the side of the Monroe Air Shocks, is there a valve-pin, similar to a normal (Schrader) Tire Valve, that must be depressed to add or remove air from the shock?
    2) Do these Aeroquip 2242-4-4S adapters have a part inside that keeps the valve-pin depressed?
    3) Or, does the Monroe setup work differently?
    4) Do other Air shocks have a normal (Schrader) fill valve that's the same size as a Tire Fill Valve that will work with a standard air hose "Tire Chuck" ?

    • @Fentertainment
      @Fentertainment  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I dont know about other air shocks but these monroe shocks do not have schrader valves built into the housing. It is just a direct inlet. You would need some pneumatic valves to be able to build pressure and release pressure.

      you can use any air hose for an air compressor that has 1/4"male NPT on it or any 1/4" male npt fitting

    Ordered those fittings for my monroe shocks. they thread right on perfectly. My question is with them being swivel like...what keeps them sealed lol. I can put my finger in one hole and blow through the other, air shoots right out between 2 sections. Stupid question I'm sure lol.

    Can those air shocks run without air ? Would they work like normal oil shocks it theres no air in them ? I have some but wish to lower my rear end ( kinda normal ride height)

    • @rayturp6742
      @rayturp6742 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      NO. They would be like driving on tires without air. No function.

    • @rotorway133

      @@rayturp6742 actually I have been riding them without air for like 2 years. They also have oil inside like normal shocks. Monroe told me it was all ok

    Is the 1/8 inch line to small to inflate the shocks under heavier loads?

      @evo emperor, it doesn't matter what particular Monroe air shock model. All the male threads are speced the same so that the Aeroquip 2242-4-4s will fit all Monroe air shocks. In fact Aeroquip 2242-4-4s will fit all Gabriel air shock threads too.

    These fittings are garbage do not buy them. The swivvle points leak air badddd. Buy a 7/16-20 female to 1/4 male fitting no swivel point or you will regret it
