To make light weight 22/24k gold jewellery, goldsmiths often insert the lac/beeswax permanently inside the bangle so that it doesn't dent. At the time of purchase, the piece is hollowed out and only the gold weight is calculated. Post this, the lac is refilled and then delivered to the customer.

Nepal is not really that far from West Bengal! They are neighbors. Very similar language and manys imilar food habits.

Yes, since it is pure gold it will look like trash is 2 days of use. 24K can be bent so easily. At least they can melt it down and start over.
