      @@ryanmcginlay3053 I suggest starting with the desert father's. Really I think that's the fundamentals of Christianity in general. I'd also suggest bishop Youssef of the diocese of southeast united states. He does a Bible study I enjoyed. They also did a playlist called "Abba give me a word" and that stuff got me through the year quarantining alone I swear lol. I tried to treat it as a hermitage not that you asked haha. Youssef my friend always talked about being humble and like personally I've just accepted put it in god's hands and it'll all work out. I don't get too hung up on these christians or those christians... But I do think the coptics are put to the test so to speak. Another important story for them especially is the Mokattam Mountain miracle. Like that blew my mind.

      @Memphis Girgis Atrees you're right except that Egyptian Muslims are not "arabized". Their ethnicity doesn't change if they convert religions, they are still ethnically copts either ways. Orthodox Christian Egyptians are both ethnically and religiously coptic. DNA analysis that came out 2 years ago, proved that almost 70% of modern Egyptians are copts ( so native Egyptians) regardless to their religion. Only 17% are Arabian and the rest are other diasporas.

I was once a Baptist too, but after much praying and much reading I feel that I have found the fullness of the faith in Holy Orthodoxy. By the way, the Copts reject the Council of Chalcedon and disagree with Romans, Orthodox, and Protestants over the hypostasis of Christ. If you need any help with studying Orthodoxy contact me.

    Islam is not a culmination of paganism, heresy and idolatry, in fact in the Quran it mentions the Bible, Torah and the gospels. As Islam is seen as a reformation of Christianity and Judaism, the distinguished part is if you can see it as Judaism being phase one, Christianity being phase two and Islam as phase three, there is no confusion in Islam, actually the only divinity Jesus(pbuh) had was being a prophet, but this is in Islam.

    Wrong. The Bible itself says that Scripture is not the only source of faith and praxis. The Holy Apostle St. Paul (may his prayers be with us all) said:
    "So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by WORD OF MOUTH or by letter from us" -2 Thessalonians 2:15 (NASB)

    c) When, about twenty years after the above-mentioned journey, Mary stood at the cross of the Lord, she was alone, and she was entrusted by her Divine Son to His disciple John; and from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home (John 19:27). Evidently, as the ancient Christians also understood it, the Evangelists speak either of "half' brothers and sisters or of cousins.

    Thank you for your reply Sofia614, may the Lord be with you both now and forever. I am not confused. And yes you could say that. I make a clear distinction between Islam and a muslim. Why could I not do that? Being able to make a distinction between a human and what he does and believe is part of Christian live. For we do not hate a person and do not judge. We only hate the evil deeds of someone. If you find this subjective, I suggest you seek wisdom.
    May the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

    (Sorry for the long answer). Not just that. In theory, God could have done whatever he wanted to get us to listen. But what speaks louder of 'love', which is what God seems to want to convey to us? Sending your own 'son' to die because you love someone, or zapping everyone clean? We humans measure goodness through effort, and sacrifice, for the most part. It's undeniable. So God made an enormous sacrifice. Because that's what we could understand as 'God loves us'.

    So what version of the "book" do you follow, if may ask. I do not need to anywhere to quote you anything. its known fact that all 3 religions speak of heaven and hell.Now I understand Christians are known to pick and choose what they believe from the book they profess to believe in and you are no different.Qur'an attests to this and tells us that those who say they believe really do not because they choose to believe in one part of the book and disregard the rest Indeed May GOD have mercy on us.

    " so that God may forgive you your past and future sins, and perfect His goodness to you;"
    "Know thou therefore that there is no god but God, and ask forgiveness for thy sin!
    "Know, then, that there is no god but God; and ask pardon for thy sin!
    Muhammad sinned, he said himself he was a sinner, are you calling him a liar?

    2) It is important that Mary was the same as all mankind so that all Christians can follow her example and submit to God's will. Mary was born a sinner, a human with full human nature. Mary’s Son, Jesus the Christ, took flesh from her. So as Son of God, He assumed fallen human nature from her and redeemed humanity by His Crucifixion and Resurrection. Also, the original doctrine of the Immaculate Conception (1869) implies an understanding of original sin not held by the Orthodox Church.

  • @OrthodoxAnswers
    @OrthodoxAnswers 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    1) the Roman Catholic doctrine of the Immaculate Conception, the Orthodox Church has never made any formal and definitive pronouncement on the subject. The majority of Orthodox have rejected the doctrine, for it seems to separate Mary from the rest of mankind, putting her in a completely different class from all the other righteous men and women of the Old Testament.

    IF christ really did have ''brethren'' He would not have to entrust her to John, as mother by saying: "Here is your mother." (John 19:27). Why would he do that if her other sons where still alive?
    You see protestant theology is based on speculation and on what YOU THINK is BEST. Orthodox theology is based on logic and what the BIBLE SAYS is TREU.

    You have to understand the trinity to recieve an answer. For an example, let's look at time: there are three parts of time, a past, a present, and a future. This does not mean that there are three "times," but only one. Each is separate, in a sense, yet each shares the same nature, or essence. In a similar way, the Trinity is three separate persons who share the same nature. Jesus was completely human, but his nature was divine.

    And then, when you consider that through the concept of the trinity, that 'son' was God himself, in a way, the sacrifice ecomes ultimately more personal. Like a father sacrificing himself to the thief's bullet to save his children, it becomes a loving parent willing to do anything to save those he cares for. Doesn't that make sense?

    On the other hand, b) in the account of the journey to Jerusalem of the twelve-year-old boy Jesus, where there is mention of the "kinsfolk and acquaintances" (Luke 2:44) in the midst of whom they were seeking Jesus, and where it is likewise mentioned that Mary and Joseph every year journeyed from faraway Galilee to Jerusalem, no reason is given to think that there were present other younger children with Mary: it was thus that the first twelve years of the Lord's earthly life proceeded.

  • @OrthodoxAnswers
    @OrthodoxAnswers 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    a) In the Gospels there are named four "brothers" (James, Joses, Simon and Jude), and there are also mentioned the "sisters" of Jesus-no fewer than three, as is evident in the words: and His sisters, are they not ALL with us? (Matt. 13:56).

    My brother,
    I wish not to intervene in your discussion with dillo45, but I have to set this straight. Catholicism is the one who split! Not orthodoxy! The pope started claiming authority and demanding to chance the Nicene creed. which we of course would not do. And so they split.

    no sorry, it doesn't make sense for a God to become a human who is dependent on God or for God to lower himself to standard of a human.
    The son of God originated because Jesus pbuh did not have a father so people started to call him son of God.

    I am sorry, but you are a fool. Mary was very young, joseph very old. Their relationship never was intended to be sexually. Joseph was a widower, he already had children. These are the ''brethren'' of the Lord. And in the early Simitic languages, there was no word for nephew or niece, all where called brother and sister. So the protestant claim of Mary having children because of the word ''brethren'' is nonsense

  • @OrthodoxAnswers
    @OrthodoxAnswers 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Dear brother I never quoted this Bible verse to you, for I know it takes alot of pre-information to explain it. Someone else did this, not me! So I am not accountable for the quotation! I have provided you enough evidence to proof that believing Jesus had brothers is unlogical, pure speculation and maybe even romanticizing things. It is more logic to assume, Mary was ever-virgin if you look upon the scriptures. If you still do not think so, there is no point to contineu our discussion

  • @dugood70
    @dugood70 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Now let me say this: God can do whatever he wants. We both agree on that right (Surah 5:79)? We can also agree that God does sometimes lower himself to where we can understand it, because otherwise we wouldn't have the Qur'an, in which God spoke to the prophet Mohammed. (according to Muslims). So why doesn't it make sense for God to look at a group of his creations who have always practiced sacrifice and say "I think this would make sense to them"? ...

    But in bible it says we are not supposed to worship idols
    Why catholics have idols
    And why in this video there is Jesus in a cross
    Isn't jesus ruling heaven with God
    I'm just asking respectfully
    I was muslim
    I'm a new born Christian
    To be specific I'm evangelist
    And we all worship Jesus thank God for his only begotten son we are saved.
    But before I convert to christianity.
    I noticed catholics pray in a different way
    Their churches are fancy etc
    There is a priest inside who they call father
    Who they call father, but isn't only jesus our father
    And the one who can forgive our sins?
    It's good to confess our sins to our brothers and sisters in christ
    But not to a man in church? No
    Again I'm just curious about other brothers and sisters how they see things from their point of view.
    God bless you brothers and sisters
    And sorry for too many questions:)
    And my questions have nothing to do with the video
    I love this man.
    But while watching this
    I said why not ask these questions
    Maybe someone can help me understand
    Or share something helpful with me

    If Jesus is not the Son of God, then God can't be called Father and therefore has no children! It would also mean that the Father is not rational and doesn't 'beget' or emanate wisdom and light. No wonder the 'god' of Islam is far-off! My friend, Jesus Christ is the Incarnate Word of God the Father. Adam is the image of the Trinity, because Adam has soul, wisdom and breath (life). Is there no mystery in Islam? God is unsearchable, remember? Don't be fooled by hadith and lack of dogma...

    Muhammad told us to believein the Bible, Muhammad is in contradiction also, by your theory.
    Jesus was the first born of God (Colossians1:15;Revelation3:14), therefore cannot have been a prophet
    He is the first and the last, the beginning and the end, there is no other like him, including Muhammad. Where does it mention Islam in the Bible? and Muslims.
