A better PID setting is P 0.5, I 0.00001, D 0.001, it will be much more responsive and allows the engine to reduce throttle. You can also use a clamp frim the PID to the throttle with a minimum value of 0.000001 and max of 0.99 to keep the engine from spooling up out of control.
A constant on PID will cause trouble if your engines are off for a while before you start them. The PID seems to create phantom signals that result in the turbine wrecking itself before the throttle has chance to adjust. I know this from experience with my three turbine MH53, I ended up giving each turbine it's own PID and power on only when fuel pumps are active and the turbine is turning.
So in theory you could use a turbine to spin the rotor and if you wanted an extra speed boost you could use the rotating exhaust to output thrust as well?

i put the fuel on jet fuel and attached it to the combustion chamber but when ever i start the engine it never catches and when i put my mouse over it it reads no fuel going in

Max throttle in second gear of my ship they will be at 74rps, but when I Bring the throttle down to 20 from 180 they will not slow down.
So Jet Turbines, compared to Diesel Engines, need no cooling, no exhaust, and are degrees more powerful? Just an air intake and whatever you want to drive? What's the catch?
@@MrNJersey I have to respectfully disagree. Well, at least for Turboshafts. I made a medium-small turboshaft boat powered by 1Jet Engine and 3 Fluid Jets. At max efficiency, it hits 11.45 RPS, ~60 Knots, ~2.0L/s, and with a fuel capacity of 5000 Liters. I'm new to the game, but I think that's pretty impressive. After using them, I'd say their catch is unresponsive RPS. To prevent extreme acceleration, I'm using the Clutch, Fluid Jet deflectors, AND the Target RPS for multiple methods of thrust control. By the way, the PID is set to 0.1, 0, 0.1, 1. It prevents the engine from overrevving above target RPS. ... ... I can't say anything about using a Jet as a Jet, though.

For some odd reason, none of my ship's engine work. They're built in advanced mode or update to work that way and when the limited fuel patch came out, I added a fuel inlet. It shows air fuel and exhaust as 100% and when I add fuel and try to start it, it all goes 0%. Now, it worked before so I would be really thankful if anyone has any tips for me. Cheers

@@doomdave475 sorry actual module is called JET TURBINE MEDIUM, why connect RPS directly to it? does it matter? whole engine turn at same RPS so I cna connect it to any RPS output, cannot I?
Are you talking about the PID? Because then its because the only throttle options on the jet are on and off so the PID is needed to precisely flicker that throttle lever so the rps is constant

The large intake is for double flux engines. It should generate thrust like a propeller(haven't tested it yet)

Might be a pid issue
the pid settings do not let the engine throttle down if its over 60ish rps.

I forgot to set the setting on the PID, and it kept shutting the engine down when I passed 160rps

Your throttle is set at 0%. Thats why it shows 0.
