This truly highlights TV on the Radio's wide range, and how they are able to excel in all sorts of music types, here they show a mix of their alternating timbre of sound, as this is originally a slow moving song that is full of almost bottlenecked energy, and this is the antithesis of the original recording. pure master piece, just a snipped of how truly talented this band is.
This is on the Young Liars EP. The studio version is MUCH different. Very good, but for different reasons. I love Tunde's vocals on this. I think it captures the tone of the song in a very interesting and cool way.
incredible performers, they take the songs to a whole new level. as if Blind has two seperate versions and not just live/studio. Of all the great artists and bands out there - there is no-one i wish to see live more than TVOTR.
The lyrics posted for this song wrong.. you can obviously tell in this live version and others that he doesn't say the silly lyric "so I'm sending up the ladder to the perfect door front" but "so I'm sending an open letter to the perfect girlfriend" the person who transcribed the lyrics originally got their wrong version spread all over the internet. It's so annoying to see that beautiful lyric mangled
aren't the lyrics "I'm sending an open letter to the perfect girlfriend"? Not something about a ladder to a doorfront. I think some of the other lyrics are also off. God, I love the live version of this song!
I'm pretty sure the lyrics are "open letter to the perfect girlfriend" not "up the ladder to the perfect doorfront"...i had my suspicions on the studio version but its quite clear in this version.
The lyrics are wrong!!! How you put the lyric down "I'm sending up the ladder to the perfect doorfront" (what the hell would that mean anyways???) when it is obviously "I'm sending an open letter to the perfect girlfriend."

Definitely wasn't expecting that. They rocked the hell out of a slow and dingy song (which is also awesome).
wow this version is rocked out. I love both of them.

@Mesmerized *The lyrics posted for this song ARE wrong
a live album/dvd is over due.
@ZombieRaptor And really, when you compare the both of them, they almost seem like entirely different songs.

I heard the studio version on Pandora. I'm not so sure about it live; it's very different, more upbeat. But it's not bad by any means.
I'm pretty sure the lyrics are "open letter to the perfect girlfriend" not "up the ladder to the perfect doorfront"...i had my suspicions on the studio version but its quite clear in this version.
I bet they got started making fun of music that sounds like this. Then....they couldn't stop
im pretty sure its in drop D and the chords are Bm, G, D and repeat. Use the low D power chord too. Thats just my guess though, sounded pretty close
See I like this version better. Much more passion and energy too it.
Great song...like the album version better
is that jaleel bunton on drums?
just check out his dancing around 1:20 the whole video could suck and would still be great for that one shot
Not as good as the original but the guitars are great on this version.
music that sounds like what?

@notevenyo69 it sounds like poop.....
It starts of good, but his voice sounds like shit towards the end. I love this song though.
God, this is so much worse than the album version.
