It's the consumers fault. Stop buying into these ridiculous prices. They're trying to price out the average woman. Even Hermes has "affordable" entry level items thats actually leather! I've steered away because the quality is not what it once was. There are other brands that have remained quality, and have not taken advantage of their consumer. Even the preloved market is slowing down and that should tell you something...the demand isnt there as much anymore. It'll be interesting to see where this is all headed from a luxury standpoint.

I got the PA in May for $1,290 and justified it because I needed a bag small enough to slip into my work bag when I have to go into the office. It had been out of stock for so long and it took me 3 months to finally find it from one of the Las Vegas stores, at that time it was 1 of 13 available site/store wide. It was painful to pay that price and wished I'd bite the bullet long before the price increase. I do love it and use it practically everyday as a small purse even when I don't go in the office. I got the PM at $1,850 after the glazing issues were passed and used it off an on since. However, I would not buy either if your price increase prediction is right, that is just too much of my hard working money! Although I would love to get the black leather speedy 25 like yours! Love your hair and please share how you curled it.😀I also would love for you to share how you stay organized with job, 2 kids, husband and social media! Thank you for your videos, I like how you explain with such details and comparisons. It's like a friend giving luxury handbag advice! 😆
It sounds like you’re getting a lot of use out of the PA! Even if you paid the higher price, if you use it often, your cost per wear at the end of the year will be okay! 👌 It’s such a versatile piece and such a workhorse. As for my hair, it does what it wants 😂 and comes out different each time! I use a mix of hair dryer, big round brush and straightening iron. Depending on how much time and energy I have that morning, I’ll either style it or do nothing! 🙈 As for juggling work, family and social media… it’s exactly that! I just checked my collection spreadsheet 🤓 and I haven't made a new purchase from LV in 2022! Last one was a pencil case from the Christmas Animation last year. I made a couple pre-loved purchases this year but it seems I'm just done with Louis Vuitton. It's a bummer because they were my first luxury love. But I'm priced out -- and it's mainly because their items are now severely OVERPRICED. Not worth it, not at all. I've shifted back to contemporary and upcoming brands.
As someone who has brought both mini pochette and the pochette accessories I think the regular pochette is worth the price as it does fit a lot including your phone. The mini pochette eh not so much. I brought only because the item was available at LV. I was also afraid of the price hitting 1k and at that point I could not justify the mini pochette. I brought both items at its current price
Pouchette Métis is $3250 now in 🇨🇦. Pouchette accessories is $1640 plus 13% taxes on top. Just crazy for canvas pieces. I have both and paid the recent high price for accessories. Shaking my head…… but will just continue to increase. Ugh! Why, Louis, Why??
1 bag and the kiragami set is on my wishlist. I hope to add them soon before the next round of increases. I don’t like increases but can’t complain about it. It’s business and either we’ll continue to buy or walk away. I’m choosing my purchases very carefully. There are some items I’m not willing to pay higher prices for but it is what it is.
The Kirigami set wasn’t affected in the last round of price increases so I have a feeling it may be impacted in the next round. Just speculation of course! And I hear you - like I said at the end of my video - we have the power to walk away once it doesn’t feel worth it to us anymore. 😉
I bought the Kirigami set in August of last year at the $745 price so the price hasn’t gone up in over a year. $1500 for a Pochette Accessoires is nuts. I had an opportunity to buy a Palm Springs Mini. An SA had told me that they started coming into the boutique regularly and offered to put one on hold. I thought about it over a weekend and decided against it. I wanted a carefree bag, which it is, but I wanted something a little bit bigger. I went in a completely different direction and went for a Coach leather sling bag in a camo print from the men’s line. I briefly considered the sling bags from LV (also in the men’s line) but nothing “spoke” to me like that camo print at Coach. I wanted something fun and I would have paid for luxury if I loved it.
That’s right - the Kirigami wasn’t impacted in the last round of increases so I’m really curious what’ll happen in the next round! As for your Coach bag - you seem so excited!! Love that! And you saved some money too!! 👌
It’s definitely coming, and I’m feeling like the Pochette Accessoires is going to be around the $1,600 price point. I bought my PA when it was $630 (or something like that) and I thought that was too much. I cannot fathom paying that much for a new PA or $1000 for an MPA, definitely not worth it, in my opinion, as much as I like these pieces.

I finally bit the bullet and snagged a pouchette accessoires. I hated paying the current price but I think its going to go up to $1,500 and I'll be kicking myself, again. I have wanted that thing since I turned it down at $400 years ago. I know I'll use it. I use my mini all the time and was lucky to grab it a couple years ago for $335.

I love my Métis, using it much more over all my other handbags. I got it at the $2300 mark. Got my mini pochette at $500 mark. Love both items. I’ve been taking a long break from LV. Don’t find attracted to their new collections.

That’s the issue main people have with LV. The inconsistent quality. With items being out of stock, if you get a wonky piece that needs to be returned, it could be a waiting game and then you may be hit with a price increase in the meantime! 😣 I hope you’re able to find your PSM soon! 🤞
I don't think they will increase in the US without increasing and "harmonizing" in Europe first (similar to what Chanel did). The dollar is stronger than the euro right now. If the US increases, it will further increase the discrepancy between US and Europe prices. The feds will likely increase the rates again in late September which will likely further strengthen the dollar. My guess is that there will be no LV price increase until they get prices higher in the Europe first and until they have a good understanding of how much higher the fed will keep going to combat inflation in the US.
It’s a good point and I talked about Chanel’s price harmonization in a previous video. I agree LV will follow suit. Word on the street is that Chanel will be increasing prices in the US soon as well. So if LV raises prices in Europe this month, it’s possible they will follow up with increases in the US later this month. I don’t think they’re going to be spread too far out but we’ll see!
Yea EU is looking like a disaster financially. I think they will hit depression by end of the year. Pretty sure these price increasss will be back tracked.

That’s the thing. If you bought the Pochette accessories for around $500, it will be very difficult to wrap your head around paying $745 for something half the size! It just can’t be justified from a logical standpoint so I hear you!
I feel like the increase is in a matter of weeks. As much as I would love to own the PA…$1200 is not worth it to me. I have my eye on the Odeon PM and I would love to get the Graceful PM before it jumps over $2k. I would love to own the Pochette Métis in the Empriente Leather in black, before it breaks the $3k mark. 😭
As long people buy the LV they will continue to increase the prices, therefore buying second hand is the way to go. So buyers beware and do your homework.
Some believe it’s the secondhand markups that are driving brands to rapidly increase their own prices. Places like Fashionphile often sell popular items at higher than retail prices. But then again, it’s like the chicken or the egg debate.
I was able to finally get the PA from the website for a whopping 950€. It’s still very difficult to get in Europe.. and I hope it won’t have any defects once it gets here..
No matter if it's the @ *lvguci* or any other, my steadfast belief stands that only practitioners can perceive dissimilarities in the sack's looks or the metal constituents.

I would take that money for the small leather goods and put it toward a full handbag.

That’s the issue main people have with LV. The inconsistent quality. With items being out of stock, if you get a wonky piece that needs to be returned, it could be a waiting game and then you may be hit with a price increase in the meantime! 😣 I hope you’re able to find your PSM soon! 🤞

I don't think they will increase in the US without increasing and "harmonizing" in Europe first (similar to what Chanel did). The dollar is stronger than the euro right now. If the US increases, it will further increase the discrepancy between US and Europe prices. The feds will likely increase the rates again in late September which will likely further strengthen the dollar. My guess is that there will be no LV price increase until they get prices higher in the Europe first and until they have a good understanding of how much higher the fed will keep going to combat inflation in the US.
It’s a good point and I talked about Chanel’s price harmonization in a previous video. I agree LV will follow suit. Word on the street is that Chanel will be increasing prices in the US soon as well. So if LV raises prices in Europe this month, it’s possible they will follow up with increases in the US later this month. I don’t think they’re going to be spread too far out but we’ll see!
Yea EU is looking like a disaster financially. I think they will hit depression by end of the year. Pretty sure these price increasss will be back tracked.

I cannot see myself paying $745 for the mini pochette, I should have purchased it when it was $300. I purchased a Pouchette Accessoires in Damier Ebene yrs ago for five hundred something
That’s the thing. If you bought the Pochette accessories for around $500, it will be very difficult to wrap your head around paying $745 for something half the size! It just can’t be justified from a logical standpoint so I hear you!

I feel like the increase is in a matter of weeks. As much as I would love to own the PA…$1200 is not worth it to me. I have my eye on the Odeon PM and I would love to get the Graceful PM before it jumps over $2k. I would love to own the Pochette Métis in the Empriente Leather in black, before it breaks the $3k mark. 😭

Why are LV bags so much more expensive than Europe?
Since LV bags are made in Europe, there will be a markup in the US to take into account import taxes etc.
Come to think of it, even the items marked made in USA are marked up compared to European prices 😂
As long people buy the LV they will continue to increase the prices, therefore buying second hand is the way to go. So buyers beware and do your homework.
Some believe it’s the secondhand markups that are driving brands to rapidly increase their own prices. Places like Fashionphile often sell popular items at higher than retail prices. But then again, it’s like the chicken or the egg debate.

I was able to finally get the PA from the website for a whopping 950€. It’s still very difficult to get in Europe.. and I hope it won’t have any defects once it gets here..
