I have a special nostalgic love for Unown purely because I used one in a Crystal Nuzlocke as a joke and ended up keeping it on my team, leveling it to 100, and beating Red with it solo.
That said, I think it getting some sort of swarm-based evolution would be MUCH needed and deserved.
Also, regarding why Unown has a similar Attack stat to it's Special, it's because in Gen 2, before the phys/special attack split, Hidden Power could be a physical attack depending on which type it was. All Flying moves, for example, were considered Physical.

    3. I think I’d be down for a Grass/Fire evolution of Sunflora as well. Seen some amazing ideas for an evolution that did that.

Luvdisc and Alomomola might have some similarities (pure Water, pink, heart-shaped fish), but they're only superficial. Their differences apply in gameplay AND lore. Luvdisc is a fragile speedster that lives in shallow waters, is themed around romantic love, and uses romantic moves (Charm, Sweet Kiss, Attract, Captivate, Heart Stamp, etc.). Alomomola is a stone wall that lives in deep seas, is themed on unconditional love, and uses heal/support moves (Heal Pulse, Wish, Helping Hand, Wide Guard, Safeguard, etc.). Luvdisc celebrates loving couples at sea, whereas Alomomola is an instinctive lifeguard. They share Hydration, but because they're in different ability slots they would not carry over through evolution. Not to mention that Alomomola is in Water 1, but Luvdisc is not.

After doing some research, I honestly think that Delibird should be number 2 with luvdisc number 3. Sure Delibird has higher attacking stats, but when you are pretty slow and have next to no defemse along with a signiture attack that can heal your opponent, it is the definition of throwing. And instead of Avalugg since you can slap on body press and all of a sudden with snowscape and trick room that thing is a monster, I would've put Pyukumuku, whose entire gimmick is stat us moves like Toxic, just using taunt hard locks the pokemon since one of the counter based moves is an egg move, and the main ability involves dying, more hp you have the more the death blow will do. However, low hp high defense, I think aftermath would end up doing more.

I was going to say that at least in Gen2, Normal type attacks like Hidden Power and Hyper Beam were all physical attack, not special, but given that Hidden Power changes it’s type in the background, I don’t even know if that helps it. I’m guessing that was the logic behind Unknown having high attack, but it might have not even worked that way in the first game they showed up in…. Huh…. Someone definitely had big ideas for Unknown, but, like tue GS Ball, they never really got taken full advantage of.
That said, I do like the idea that some Pokémon genuinely don’t have much utility as fighters, since it can help flesh out the ecosystem, but you can still catch them anyhow. I’ve always kind of wanted uncatchable boss monsters like the Marowak ghost to be more of a thing, and a boss made up of a thousand Unknown would fit perfectly into that niche.

I had a rain doubles team back in Gen 6 that had Parasect on it, and it pulled some nonsense it really had no right to. And being a consistant check to one of the undisputed champions of the Uber tier, Kyogre, for multiple generations is nothing to sneeze at
While Sunflora I mainly have good memories of for nostalgia with Pokemon Battle Frontier, where it was a pokemon that could be assigned to NPC trainers in that one stadium with the roulette-darts gimmick. For some unknown reason, not a hell of a lot on the rest of those rotating pools had a good answer to this Funky Flower, so it just tore whatever it was put in front of up. Suggestion: Make a follow-up video with ideas to make these Pokémon less awful. There are hints of that already, like implying that Sunkern should become a real threat under strong sunlight; now, take those thoughts and turn them into something concrete, preferably while still holding to typical Pokémon design philosophies. Otherwise, this video is just filled with lots of "thing bad," but it's missing a lot of substantive thought, there's very little added to the conversation.
Here's a free example: Luvdisc gains stats based on affection with the player, as well as increased chances to proc affection-based bonuses (avoiding hits, enduring attacks, etc.). It still wouldn't necessarily be competitive, or even desirable for a typical Pokémon playthrough, but it's a definite mechanical improvement, backed up by existing thematic elements.

Not even close, really. Parasect may be a Bug-type with high Attack, but its strongest Bug move is Leech Life, which has 20 base power. For comparison, that deals 25% damage to Alakazam, a Pokemon with the same physical bulk as Oshawott. Even Exeggutor, which has a x4 weakness, takes only 30% damage. You'd be better off just using Double-Edge, which has higher power than Leech Life even against Exeggutor. And if you're going to do that, you might as well use a physical attacker that gets actual STAB and isn't slow as molasses. If you're in a setting where sleep clause isn't a thing, then you're better off with something faster or bulkier, and if you are, then Parasect becomes death fodder the moment it gets a Spore off.
Like, you want a Psychic counter in Gen 1, try Snorlax, Chansey, or one of the legendary birds (Zapdos in particular). There's a reason that Parasect is sitting pretty in Gen 1 ZU--a tier where the only usable Psychics are Slowpoke and Abra.

1983 is the worst of all for obvious reasons, and there's room to argue about 2014, 2006, 2003, the vast majority of the 8-bit years (except for 85 and 87) and even 1993, it has a lot going for it, but there was also a lot of trash.

I am stunned that to this day nothing has been done with Unknown. Not in the gen they were introduced, not in one of the spinoffs, not even in the game that takes place before modern times. Like how about when you collect all of the Unknown they can connect with psychic energy into the shape of an eye, get a buff like WishiWashi, and have the chance to know any move excluding Hidden Power.

A pretty fair list I think, but Unown will forever still be one of my favorite Pokémon in the series, so I guess I have to reevaluate my life. It is completely useless but I think that's why I've always loved them, even more so in the 3D games when they started bouncing around having their own dorky animations. I still remember back in the day I would catch, train and level up Unowns to lv 100 and put them on the GTS or arrange special trades with people for things I did not own or could get. I still get a kick bringing my Unown team through the Elite Four for laughs when I can.

I know this video is more so about the more objectively bad Pokémon in terms of their stats, types or movepool, but honestly I think one of the worst Pokémon in recent years is Enamorous fron Legends Arceus. Not only does it look complete fugly design-wise, both in its normal AND alternate form, but doesn’t even fit with the other forces of nature either. You have thunder, wind, earth and…love? How the heck is love going to kill you? Not only that, but it’s incredibly annoying and obnoxious to catch, and definitely not worth the effort required to do so when you just get this ugly pink blob in the end. And it’s certainly a shame that the only new legendary in Legends Arceus ended up being this freak of nature.
Also, this’s definitely perfect timing due to tomorrow being Pokémon Day, along with the series’s 27th b-day lol.

Ideas for parasect evolution: give it an ability called Shroom Spore wich activates when (new parasect evolution) gets down to red health and lives, it spreads spores to every pokemon on the feild (including teamates) with grow mushrooms that act as a leech seed and the ability also replaces its but type with ghost after activating
Edit: the ability is a reference to how in real life, before the insect dies it climbs to a high spot and spreads spores

Unown needs a regional variant based on Kanji characters. Each Unown has a type depending on their form (based on each type's Kanji), they have an ability which triples Hidden Power's base power (on top of STAB), makes it always the user's type, and makes the user immune to their own type, Catching all Unown allows you to catch the legendary Kanjioh.

Then Crystal came along, made a big deal out of them but... never really did anything with them. Then HeartGold and SoulSilver never really expanded upon them either. I think there was always a "do something with Unown" note on Game Freak's to-do list with each game but they just never got around to it.

His stats are middling but terrible in all the right places, and his move pool is so very laughable. Not only that, all of his "unique" forms of female evolution have done before and better. Parasect is somehow still a better bug/grass, Scizzor is a better Bug/Steel, and Nincada with Ninjask and Shedinja are a better Bug/Ground. Not to mention his male evolution, which is (cough) another moth...and (cough cough) another Bug/Flying...wow.

GF has some good creativity when it comes to making new abilities but it just seems like anytime they make a really cool, interesting one it ends up getting heavily short-changed stat-wise (Castform or Cherrim). Pokemon that aren't bad, but get a unique ability that really doesn't mesh well with their stats (Zoroark or Tsareena). It just kinda feels like a lot of the time when GF comes up with a really unique, interested ability they have to either put it on a garbage mon or something that doesn't really have the stats to make that ability really shine. I guess in the interest of making sure it doesn't cause a huge problem in competitive?

how's about holding together the fabric of the universe and capable of reality warping on a base level? granted, this literally ONLY shows up in movies like the Sinnoh Trilogy and the movie they starred in, but hey, that is an important cog in the machine that is Pokemon's vast multiverse. at least until it's captured and singled out, then it's just a basic nearly useless pokemon that can be used to make a meme team that spells F U C K U with a machamp that only knows Dig in between F U C K and U.
