Delhi Metro is a metro system serving Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, and Ghaziabad in the National Capital Region of India. Delhi Metro is the world's thirteenth largest metro system in terms of length. Delhi Metro is India's first modern public transportation system. As of April 2014, the network consists of six lines, plus a seventh Airport Express line, with a total length of 190.0 kilometres (118.1 mi), serving 137 stations, (including the 6 Airport Express stations), of which 36 are underground, five are at-grade, and the rest are elevated. All stations have escalators, elevators, and tactile tiles to guide the visually impaired from station entrances to trains. It has a combination of elevated, at-grade, and underground lines, and uses both broad gauge and standard gauge rolling stock. Four types of rolling stock are used: Mitsubishi Rotem broad gauge, Bombardier Movia, Mitsubishi Rotem standard gauge, and CAF Beasain standard gauge.
The Delhi Airport Metro Express (DAME) is a Delhi Metro line from New Delhi Metro Station to Dwarka Sector 21, linking the Indira Gandhi International Airport. The line, also known as the Orange line was opened on 23 February 2011 after missing four previously set deadlines. It was built at a cost of INR57 billion, of which Reliance Infra paid INR28.85 billion (U$580m), Reliance Infra will also pay fees on a Revenue-share model.
The total length of the line is 22.7 km, of which 15.7 km is underground and 7 km, from Buddha Jayanti Park and Mahipalpur, is elevated. The trains travel at up to 135 km/h, instead of up to 80 km/h as on the rest of the metro. Travel time is 18 mins from New Delhi to the Airport T3.

Germany is starting the process to build India's second Bullet train Chennai Mysore route. We are thankful to Germany for it. Also, the first rolling stock for DMRC was Bombardier shipped from Germany as there was no manufacturing here in India then. India will never forget the efforts by Germany in building our nation.

Razor Reznov Hey Airport Metro is great because Crowd using this is going to Airport and hence, less crowded. But on the other hand, City Metro is not as good because of overcrowd. Rush Hours are too much disgusting. However, Quality and service of metro is world class

Razor Reznov now all metropolitan cities in India are metro already started working and work is going on in some smaller cities too.. Delhi Mumbai, Jaipur, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Lucknow, cochin are already started.. Nagpur and some other places work is in progress.. Most importantly all the coaches and all metro systems and designs are made within India..

i live in vienna. city metro plan is excellent. but my indian metro-infrastructure is in no way inferior to any world-class metro.

one of the reasons that this train is very clean is because the people who are travelling to airport are generally cleaner than the rest of the indian population and they also keep things clean around them.

Look if you travel by train and you end destination is new delhi you can get instantly the airport express metro from the new delhi metro station and you will stop right beneath the airport and you will get a lift up

Delhi metros 24x7 service not available as during night the train goes for maintenance and cleaning for ensuring the smooth and operation each day, BTW it won't be economical to run them at night because of the number of the passengers.

Why would I be jealous of Mumbai..just coz of airport nd beaches ? Well Delhis infrastructure is one of the best in India and so is public transportation.. We have the worlds largest public Bus transportation services which runs on CNG.. Best metro train.... And people here don't sit on roof of the train.. Delhi is more populated than Mumbai.. Still, we manage to control the crowd.. We have some of the top colleges nd universities.. Including Delhi university, FMS, IIT.. The main thing.. Cost of living is cheap in Delhi as compared to the rest of India..
