So, the reason why you feel there is too much clutter is twofold: For one, you are zoomed out too far while playing and for another you have your unit label size set too large. Try using aggregate with smaller label sizes and you will see that things should become much clearer. As for practical gameplay tips: -Suppression/suppression resistance is the single most important stat in the game for sustained engagements i.e. everything that doesn't actually or effectively die in the first hit. This is also why the marksman rifles are so strong; a single one deals as much suppression damage as all the other weapons in the squad *combined.* The first level of veterancy is the most important here, because it not only boosts your suppression resistance the most, it also increases your recovery rate by more than *3 times!* The other veterancy levels are nice to haves (most of the time only worth it if you have the slots to spare), but nowhere near necessary, but the first level is basically a must have on anything that you intend to survive a hit. Heavy tanks and line infantry should almost always be upvetted. -Artillery can be VERY strong if used correctly. A pair of heavy guns firing corrected shots, can and will kill heavy tanks in a single salvo. -Your air tab is way too large. It's super expensive points wise (both activation and slot cost) and has terrible efficiency unless your opponent is playing terribly. -Warno is more pre planned than Wargame in regards to unit movement. You can call units in with orders that will then be executed upon spawning, such as unloading at a position, or fast move. Shift ordering units is also way more common; you can for example give a shift order to an IFV after the unload order, which will then be carried out after the infantry has been unloaded at the target location. It is also common to shift order artillery salvos and movement, to avoid counter battery fire. As a more advanced form of this, you can also pre aim an artillery salvo at a certain location by clicking the hold fire button *after* giving a fire position order; you can then have it immediately fire upon releasing from hold fire and it will then also execute any previously set shift orders. This entire point works best when using hotkeys rather than the mouse. -The following is not really a set in stone rule, but personal preference. I personally avoid infantry fights if possible. They are inefficient resource wise. Instead, you win by using back line or second line support, i.e. arty or tanks/IFVs from a safe range and only using your own infantry to reveal and mop up the enemy's.
Options -> Interface -> Close Requisition Menu -> "Always keep open" (Don't auto close when buying things) | -> "3D UNIT SCALING "-> You may think this is "icky" but you should get over it, it just gives you more information, FX like explosions and bullet tracers (grenade launchers) enlarge also when zoomed out so you won't miss things as much. .. Gameplay -> "Out of Range Reaction: DEFENSIVE" -> Units will auto-smoke and retreat short distances when taking fire it cannot respond to. This is way way more helpful than it is a hinderance, no matter how much a micro god you are it just lessens the workload because when it kicks in it usually was the right thing to do. Also press C on things.
I guess since you're suffering a month of warno some quick tips might help ease the pain. -You can use the waypoint commands when calling in reinforcements, so you can tell infantry to unload at position when calling them in and they'll unload, making them less likely to die from a cluster or rogue AT soldier if you're too busy looking elsewhere when they get to their position. -Smoke mortars are a blessing from the gods and some of them are fairly cheap -For the day you finally don't have a city-heavy map, make sure you artillery and destroy any tall buildings in your enemy area. 9/10 times there's an ATGM/GL/Scout in it. -Lastly, you can shift-click move your arty after doing a fire-pos order and they'll move after that salvo. Super nice for counter battery avoidance.
You might recognize the name as I've seen him post in your comments before, but Lateralus made a Warno UI mod that basically ports the WGRD UI into Warno and it is amazing. You currently can't use it in Ranked, but you can use it in any other MP game mode so you should maybe give it a try. He has a petition up for it on the workshop page in an attempt to get Eugen to allow it for ranked since it does nothing but change the UI to something more comfortable for WGRD players. I don't know if you're still on the strike team but maybe you can give Eugen a nudge on that front lol. I can't even touch ranked until they allow it cuz I refuse to continue using the dogshit default UI. The name of the mod is "Warno Actual UI" by Lateralus.
Not being able to use it for ranked is just a big deal breaker. Even then I might not use it just out of principle. Shit like that should not be so bad that the community has to fix it on their own. I think it is honestly rather sad how bad the UI settings are 3 years after the game started out in early access.
I advise everyone to use artillery closer to frontlines. This makes difference in accuracy raising DPS of arty really high. But in that case you should move your arty piece by shift move every arty strike
While a bit polemic (and I'm sure ironic), that is actually true. Trying to play Warno as if it were just a Wargame reskin will hamper you in gaining important game knowledge. For that reason, as much as it pains me to say this, I would recommend starting off with 1 or 2 10vs10s rather than jumping straight into ranked, just to actually gain some game and map knowledge. Or getting a buddy for some 2vs2s to coach you a bit.
Another protip: You can let your arty or mortar fire at the same time by position targeting with them and then clicking the "return fire" button bottom right. Once they all stopped aiming click the button again and they will fire.
i am BUFF BURATINO, because ppl see me on the screen when they enter the game i changed my name to this becase that unit suffers and it can be fun - its literally the worst unit in the game hands down. Thats the only way eugen listens sadly
Excited to see how your thoughts evolve over the 30 days of pain! Also, if you hold "C" and hover the mouse over a unit (friendly or enemy) it will show their weapons ranges as cirlces on the map along with their LOS. Took me like 2 months to figure it out, very helpful for close micro
you are saying that making the icons larger is much more clutter, but it serves a purpose. It's much easier to click to load inf back to transports this way and it's something you do much more often in warno than wargame. I really feel that 80% of the things you don't like are just a matter of getting used to GUI and the mechanics. Anyway I hope you'll have a fun time in your experiment!
Wargame red dragon is so good -Beautiful Graphics -Massive list of content including Multiple campaigns/Full Arsenal Building/Multiplayer -Main menu simply the best ever made with High Command theme in mind -Gameplay is really good
so how to know which squad get more firepower and possible beat other in firefight since weapon are standardized. assault rifle will give = 1 firepower machine gun will give = 2 firepower so ( 1 machine gun will be like having 2 assault rifle) no more mg3 uber dragonner sniper / dmr will give = 1 firepower but more extra on suppression so those sniper will reduce enemy morale alot. and most inf will want one vet to help combat suppression. and alot of fighting will boil down to get many gun into enemy. Also treat engineer unit like they deal extra dps to enemy when they get up close. but it no powerful as sd2. but it usually faster than normal troop it killing inf. also watch your deck i said it jover for box spam from wargame era. this game is ifv spam because atgm deal suppression even miss and atgm wall could render any push useless because tank got hit and crew forgot all how to fight.
I consider myself to be good at Wargame but when I try to play Warno MP I just get my ass kicked. Maybe I have Wargame brain and can't comprehend doing anything differently. Edit: 14:30 mins and you cursed RIP TH-cam wealth
It took 30 days to get 1 navy video, it took 1 video to get 30 days of WARNO RIP
Razzmann getting constantly frustrated over Warno is my new music.
WARNO addiction begins now.
30 days of Warno is INSANE
One important thing you should keep in mind: your low cohesion units will NEVER hit anything. But don't underestimate enemy low cohesion units

I used to be a WARNO hater, but I’m liking it more than red dragon now
>same map
Absolute cinema
The pain in your voice, i love it lmaoo. 30 days of pleasure
He will get hooked for sure
You could possibly grasp the gameplay better if you focus less on the wargame boomer seething Razzman

Nature is healing
you muted the best part of warno, the soundtrack absolutely slaps
Yeah but I dont want my money taken by YT
If I suffer through this I at least want to make my 5 cents
The soundtrack's the most cookie cutter synthwave ever. Love the game, but the soundtrack is completely naff.
I like putting flags in my ranked decks so I can filter them visually
Flying low is so much better. You can’t hit anything if it’s flying high
No reason to apologize for not liking the game, I honestly like to hear RD opinions since I do believe that game still does some things better

You should do a collab with hippie for all of your questions
I would love to see something like that happen since he’s the #1 warno comp player
can we get some warCRAFT content in here
This game have one of the worst ui I have ever seen in rts game, how can go one from the best in wargame to this
It's almost the same as WGRD
you should play 82 airborne
Wait... I thought Hippie's video lol
The voicelines are awful lmao
