    A beauty of a Laker .....
    As she shows her strength pushing
    Through....hard working girl...
    Love the sound of her engines
    Humming along....and the crunch
    Of the ice....beautiful plume from
    Her stack.. wind whipped and looks
    Like a floating feather...
    Nice presentation...thanks!

    Not exactly something you'd use an oar to push away from the dock.

    she was stuck in the ice before she went thru the locks, had to wait for a ice breaker to open a path

      @@striper37 Thanks EG, never thought of that...hvy diesel would have been black smoke from working hard.

      The ships have exhaust scrubbers, they're remove the dirt and pollution from the exhaust.

      She has exhaust scrubbers and they remove all the nasty black smoke pollution and leave the steam. Interlake has these on all their ships. No more pollution.

    The weather has really turned bad in Duluth-the PTR will have difficulties in docking, no doubt.

    Hopefully the reason that she hasn’t been painted in a while is because she’s soon going to be scraped.?

      She's the Queen of the Lakes. She isn't going to be retired for many years to come. It's a working ship so scrapes are part of the territory.

    • @jimlund5022
      @jimlund5022 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      😲😜 probably the reason it hasnt been painted is the cost and it was done not to terribly long ago. Do you paint your car every year or when it gets a scratch?

    • @tmdillon1969
      @tmdillon1969 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jimlund5022 it's also freshwater so the rust action is far, far slower than in saltwater. I imagine they paint them every other or every 3rd year. It's a lot of lost money to have them out of action.

      They usually get painted during their mandatory 5 year Coast Guard inspection
