@@CalebGannon People just need to watch you enough to speak your language. Like when you unknowingly called Lava Shard "Magma Jet", because you had Burning Prophet out.
oh god lol. That's mostly due to my setup currently, my mic is resting on these boxes so I have to reach around and type with my hands sideways on the keyboard.
"making a 1/3, scrying 1, hitting for 2, and blocking a token for 2 mana is about the same as distributing 3 -1/-1 counters spread over 3 turns for 4 mana" - Dr. Caleb Gannon
First match I think they were on red-black from the start. You only thought they weren't because they never played a black source (probably why they scooped so early) and because they are playing fire/ice, but they probably are just playing the red half.
Hey caleb, I have a question, do you think you could make some kind of video on drafting lower-power stuff? I'm honestly a pretty bad drafter, but I like things like vintage cube because it doesn't feel like I'm asked to choose between a bad and slightly worse card, but when doing low-power drafts (including normal drafting towards the ends of the packs) I have a very hard time identifying what makes a card go from a do-not-play to a "i guess I'll play it". How do I get better at that?
I honestly think that is a pretty tough thing to learn in general. The short answer is that it really depends on what your deck needs, which is a pretty vague answer. I think doing (or watching) chaos drafts is a really good way to get a feel for just how useful random effects can be, since chaos draft is full of random "bad" cards. Then over time you slowly get a feel for what types of things your deck may or may not be missing (ie, do you want the 5th 2/2 for 2 or another combat trick, etc). In general, cheaper effects are easier to include in multiples and in low power formats efficient combat tricks (like giant growth) can often be about as good as removal, but only in an aggressive deck. Here's my chaos draft playlist if you want to get more experience seeing bad cards in the wild haha th-cam.com/play/PLYU-RtNi4qihvtf1aqhOScAk2oeD82rnj.html The first video in the playlist really shows how diverse a card like oona's grace can be (especially in the last round :P)
Hey Caleb, enjoyin your content, and also really hoping for more Penny Dreadful content as I found it recently through your videos. A new season is soon starting for PD, so also the best time for brewing the format!
I really wish I could find the mtgo pauper cube list to make it in paper. There's the big pauper cube that I think it's based on but it's much smaller and has small differences. From what I have seen I like this one better too.
I'm confused why you say you don't want highland lake due to needing mountains, couldn't it just replace an island instead? Is it because it enters tapped and you're playing aggro?
Its been a spell but... I think game 3 vs the BR deck you forgot about your firebolt in the grave. Firebolt plus spear were your out to gurmag. Still on the Blackfoot tho
Nyad of the Hidden Groves, blue-green counter burn, Caleb is slowly progressing towards MTG goldfish levels of pronunciation.
you'd be surprised how hard it is to comment and play at the same time lol
@@CalebGannon not as hard as it is to play and type in chat am I right lolol ;p

@randall, that's actually a fascinating slip up haha. Some might say it is more informative :p
just watched 6 all gas no brakes videos after your recommendation. Such good content, thanks! Back to the games

I made the most undignified noise just now when I saw this pop up. THANKS CALEB, YOU GOT ME INTO CUBING. My own pauper cube is my baby
Hi Caleb, hope ur having a good day
So wholesome
I hope you're having a good day, Mr Quinton
Thank you! Yes I had a pretty good day. I hope you are too

What did they do game 1 that signalled red-black?
“They could have a bunch of 2-for-1s... or they could concede” XD
1:00 and you know it's a old recording :p

Didn't expect Caleb to be a AGNB fan what a shout out!
When was pauper cube on mtgo? Would love to play this!
Love the all gas no brakes shoutout! They’ve got a podcast too!
Burning Prophet is a powerhouse, especially in Pauper Cube. It's like a Wild Mongrel that draws cards.
People are hating on journalists more and more lately, but people only have good things to say about All Gas No Breaks. This says a lot about society

I love this style of thumbnail
Where can I play? I can’t find it on MTGO

Great videos!
Doctor Gannon to the rescue! Hope you are having a great day
Was this from when the pauper cube was live last March?
could you have saved spear and flashback firebolt to kill angler?
How does this deck ever beat Battle Screech. Seems impossible
That discord link doesnt seem to work. Anyone have his discord?
