Fake Kilian?? Comparing a real Love Don’t Be Shy with a counterfeit(?) Rolling in Love

- Is this my first encounter with the wide world of counterfeit perfumes? Sharing a sketchy discovery in a bottle of Kilian Rolling in Love from Mercari + some more differences when compared to a genuine bottle of Love Don’t Be Shy.
I got a fake Rolling in Love from Mercari. I thought it smelled a bit plain. It was only $90. Everything you showed on here is also on mine. Oh Well. Now I will know to lookmore carefully next time. Thank you for making the video. ❤
Thanks for sharing. I am always leery and never feel quite sure when buying from the grey market. I am going to be checking things closely from now on though. I hope you were able to return this bottle without issue.
I've been buying from grey market and secondhand sites for over a decade, and this is the first thing I've received that was questionable! I rarely buy "new and sealed" bottles from sites like ebay or Mercari, and this is a good reminder of why--gotta be able to see photos of everything inside the box to be able to check it out😂 But yes, this one got sent back, and I'll be getting a refund.
As far as the seller, they may have not known it was a counterfeit or a PUIG. If they can scan the box into the app, that’s convincing it’s real. I just ordered one off of Walmart and yes I suspected that mine wasn’t legit. Price was too good to be true. Scent is great and very close to the sample I got from Sephora. Am I upset it wasn’t real? A little but for 76 bucks for a 50 ml, it’s not bad. I’m new to the Killian brand perfumes and I am grateful for you making this video :)
Damnit!! I knew it was too good to be true too but wasn’t sure. It smelled a little off. I’m so sad!!
Actually that Rolling in Love is real. That batch number was changed a few times because of the calibration offset at their manufacturing facility. There's an article about it and some recalls, but it's a real bottle. So basically, it's even MORE rare because it's literally a "misprint" calibration offset done by them and they only made so many.
Makeup from Walmart vendor, ugggh! I got some very sus nars there. Very convincing overall except the quality is worse than drugstore, def not nars. But the good thing is their return policy (altho I missed the deadline)…
When you have it person, you can tell, otherwise it's really hard to tell. It's horrible when you get a fake.
It was disappointing--and confusing, in this case. I never would've guessed just from the juice... which, at that point, it seems like an awful lot of effort to put into making a fake??🤷♀

Oh my god?! I just received a counterfeit too and it arrived exactly like this! And I immediately checked the card and yes, the 1 typo too. This is from China btw I did some googling on the address of the transport company that sent me this. I have a real bottle and after comparing both, it smells quite different. This fake one obviously has so much stronger alcohol scent (almost alcohol spray like), but the drydown is quite similar. They both have the same DNA but the real one is more floral and lactonic (so much better). Too bad it lacks the selling point of Rolling In Love which is the well blended floral and almonds.

Do you know if some batches do not include this card inside? I purchased one batch code from may 2022 and there was no card but the bottle was on point and the box. The only thing was it was a little darker pink perfume. I bought from a credible discounter that has been around for decades. I though maybe they got older stock for cheap being that in May it would be 2 years old which may have caused it to darken slightly. My wife wore it and it smelled right and lasted all day. The company assured that their supplier is legit and they have used them for a very long time. Just curious if you have any thoughts?

It is rather scarey isn't it how similar a fake could be. EL Kilian with the constant making everything cheaper does make it more tricky.
U made me check mine 😂 I don't know I guess we'll never know will we truly. All the fragrances smell right but again... Who knows 🤣 I got my very expensive very take LDBS Oud one. The box was different I did notice that but that's a who knows. The bottle was right tbh and that's the risk with Kilian being refillable... The juice was not Kilian. But if I wasn't used to what they are and it being a blind buy how would I know...

Question…what else was the seller selling? Like did it seem like an individual selling their own stuff? Or more store like (huge inventory, lots of other new perfumes, esp multiples of this item?) Tks!!
Well this going to suck for me I am getting a bottle next week off Mercari and now that I know there are fakes do I even have any recourse? I didn't know there were fakes out there of perfumes. I knew there fakes as in same looking bottle but different names but trying to do a mirror image of something and selling I had no idea 😔

The Love Don’t Be Shy is authentic and the Rolling in Love is fake.
I an sorry to confirm your suspicion. That is definitely a fake fragrance. The real bottles have always a matte side lace, it is not shiny at all and all bottles are refillable so you could try to unscrew the sprayer (even though the new fakes could be refillable too😢). The box indentation on real ones is always horizontal and structured. Hopefully you can still return it
Oh yeah, definitely returned this one and have since picked up the genuine article. The whole world of counterfeit fragrances is so weird to me!

@@Alma_Mdssi when I received a fake bottle of angel share it was not refillable but my understanding is that now they are making them refillable. Also on second market places they refill original bottles with crap and resell them

È fake anche love don’t be shy purtroppo. I simboli nel retro della scatola in basso a sinistra sono completamente diversi : il simbolo del fuoco non è dentro un quadrato , e il simbolo del triangolo ha la scritta all’interno. Quindi per me sono tutti e 2 fake 😢

Btw my bottle doesn’t have the fire symbol in a square & the triangle also has writing inside. So….
