If you put 2 small safety pins at the 2 open ends instead of heating them, you have an survival gadget, because you can easily make a fishing hook with a safety pin, that you could attatch to the paracord. You could also build an ermergency compass with a safety pin.
The +-1.5 cm safety pins would fit perfectly

I LOVE this cross and it is pretty much what I am looking for to make for a Chaplin. One question; Their group colors are colonial blue and black. I there any way to do this just putting the whole thing together with both colors and have the enter cross in black/blue. I hope you have not responding to comments. Again, awesome job!!!!

You should have a quick release on the cord that goes around the neck. If for some reason it gets cought on something or someone pulls on it you could be strangled.
They sell them on Amazon cheap and easy to attach.

Yes...incase necklace got caught in something....it will strangle you if theres no release...
could you fit a small metal bead in the center of the cross? but it has to be fixed in position, not falling out? I think that would look really cool
