so youtube made me wait 48 hours to post this bc of a copyright thing... was gonna try and re-edit and chance it again but it wouldve take hours and i had a paper due today 😭😭 soooo sorry bout the late upload but i really made a 34 min long video about this episode 🥴 damn, normally dont get them to be that long but i had lotssss to say haha. also my intro is so chaotic and insane, im a messs haha anyways, hope yall enjoy! and hope everyone has fun with the series finale this week 🤩
@alley box TH-cam these days . . . I swear they're trying to drive people crazy with copyright b.s. As for the ep itself, it reminded me of a line Dean said in the season 5 finale:"Well if you do see God, you tell him I'm comin' for him next" Fast forward 10 years . . . Fuck Chuck!
@alley box, I agree with your comment about the show being set in the daylight. The season premier also would have been better if the ghosts in that town had been seen at night instead of daytime. I remember laughing when they were chasing Sam and Dean through town in the day. Other than the lighting, the show looked like it spent extra on cinematography because there were a lot of nice arial/distance shots.
To be honest Ally, I think when it comes to this episode it reeks of cut content and I'm wondering if the COVID19 lockdown really affected filming that much. Just the scene with the Brothers taking on God seemed so rushed, to the point where even when Chuck is beating the shit out of Sam & Dean I'm fairly certain they're re-using certain shots within seconds of each other. This episode really didn't have a consistent pace which makes me think maybe there was supposed to be more. I definitely don't think the original plan was to have this weird chain plan with Jack which even Jensen has confirmed. That said Alexander Calvert I think stole this episode with his last scene, he's grown and it leaves with a sense of hope for humanity.
New prediction, Gabriel shows up and says, "Gotchya!" Then Sam and Dean are back at The Mystery Spot. "It was the heat of the moment". "Pig and a Poke!"
Lucifer wasn’t that bad at the start of his character, but they kept dragging it out and dragging it out. It made Lucifer redundant and repetitive. Lucifer can (no pun intended) burn.
Frankly, the writers did that with a lot of characters. How many times can there be a fight between the brothers? Sam and Dean aren't talking to each other, then they make up 10 minutes later. The show was fairly repetitive.
Get mad destiel shipper. You realize the only reason “destiel” was canonized was for fan service right? They were never going to ship them together because it doesn’t make sense..
I think the problem with Lucifer is that Eric Kripke was the only one who could write him. After he left nobody seemed to understand the character and he pretty much became a wise cracking annoyance. But I feel that way about a lot of the writing post season 5 (I did still like the show however). I normally hate the people who complain about a show going down hill after getting new showrunners, but in this case I do think it went from being good/great to just being "fine" outside of individual episodes.
yesss i completely feel that. the downgrade of most villains on this show to “annoying characters that make jokes” is such a horrible progression for so many characters. and it definitely stems from lack of one clear voice in this show over the entire length of its run
The problem with this show is that it already peaked with it's villains on season 5. It's hard to get worse villains than Lucifer. Though my appreciation into season 6 - 8 has grown a lot from when those aired, I think with minor changes these seasons could have been great actually. But after the amazing first 5 season run and with villains like yellow eyes and Lucifer at season 5, it certainly feels a downgrade. But somehow they managed to make season 9 - 10 better, perhaps because we didn't compare those to season 5 anymore, but they are better in many other ways too. Season 11 episode 20, "Don't call me Shurley" was the peak of the show. To me that's the best episode of the show. It manages to utilize all the buildup from the whole run of the show, and the "metaphysical content" of that episode is in another level. Season 11 would have been the best time to end this show. I truly hate the fact that they made Chuck the villain, even though he is metaphor for Kripke/showrunners/writers of this show and in that way I get it. But I still think the last two seasons kind of phucked the whole show. Though I still enjoyed season 13, and of course I enjoy seeing Sam, Dean, Cas, and Jack. But some episodes are just so bad that I feel for those characters for having to be in that episode, and all the enjoyment goes away. Lets hope we have the perfect season and series finale. I have high hopes, because Supernatural usually is good with the finales, and after 15 seasons, if they are not giving amazing finale for the Winchesters, it will be such a crime that I really don't think they have any other choice but to nail it.
You know, this annoys me SO MUCH. When they teased this and then Cas made a deal I thought this was material for at least two or three more seasons, but a couple of weeks.later they announce 15 is the final season. Also the way they teased Mary/Bobby (which I always saw as Mary choosing a partner by free will and not by angelic interference) just for her to die and return to John?!?!
@@alleybox I noticed it too. The writers did Adam and Michael dirty. Both characters would have been cool to explore. Instead, we got filler episodes like the one about the hotel witch. It's sad how Sam and Dean never even acknowledge their third brother.
Jensen said that episode 19 felt like a finale and episode 20 really felt like the end of a show. Jensen said that when he read the script he had a hard time understanding and accepting the end for a while, then talked about it with his family and accepted it, and cried again.
I like it best when things are left up to personal interpretation. It's similar to the Xena/Gabrielle relationship. It was mostly left up to the fans to see them as best friends or something more.
nah, jensen did not exactly say that. he said that because cas is a celestial being dean didn't really believe he could feel that kind of love for him. cas is gay, that's confirmed by misha. jensen was talking about dean's reaction from dean's point of view
First Jack was a bomb. Now he's Rogue from X-men, a human sponge. He kills plants but has no affect on the boys? Jack has always been a walking-talking Deus Ex Machina for the writers, a "get out of jail free" card for when the story is backed into a corner.
omg... I didn't even realize he would most likely suck energy out of humans too.... yeah, jack has p much just been whatever is needed for the plot to move forward. bc a nephilim child has never been on the show before, so they can just come up with shit lmao
This. His writing was all over the place, with his powers and his relationship with Dean. It was just flip-flopping but it never felt like they really had a plan for him besides plotdevice. Same with Cas's powers to a lesser extent (for example, what was it with Cas saying his powers were failing in ep. 3?). But I felt like with Cas, my love for him came to be naturally, but with Jack the show tried to tell me that I have to like him because he's here now anyway. Do you know what I mean? I didn't like this episode very much. Firstly: Lucifer 🤮 when I saw the scene where he pretends to be Cas I thought: "I thought I couldn't hate this character more, but here I am." And secondly: The way they just forget their friends and Eileen and Cas exist in the end - HOW??! WHY? What kind of stupid bronly appeasing bullshit is this? I hope they rectify it in S20 but my hopes aren't very big because apparently it has to end the way it started because what even is character development? (Sorry for being salty :/)
Alley - what should really break your heart is how Cas said, "I've been wondering what my moment of true happiness would be, because I know that what I really want is simply impossible. But now I see.... happiness is not in the doing. It's just in the saying." Or something like that. Basically, that whole speech was alluding to his romantic feelings toward Dean, haha.... something which he thought would be impossible to be reciprocated.
I haven’t read through all the comments and I don’t know if you’ve see this but I’ve heard this going around. Lucifer used Nicks wife to get Nick to let him in Lucifer used Jess to get Sam to let him in Lucifer used Cas to get Dean to let him in Lucifer uses people’s desires , what they truly want the most, to manipulate them to let him in.
@@Xbitxx What do you mean? I guess “Let him in” could be a little strange wording. But it just meant Lucifer was using people’s deepest desire to get what he wanted. Lucifer wanted to use Sam and Nick as a vessel, “let him in” to their body. And he literally needed Dean to let him into the bunker lol
Okay but Dean saw himself as a killer, as someone who brings destruction and then Cas tells him that's not who he is and tells him how Cas sees him. AND THEN CHUCK IS LIKE YOU'RE A KILLER AND THEN DEAN, FOR THE FIRST TIME IS LIKE "THAT'S NOT WHO I AM". He finally sees himself through Cas's eyes imma go flip a table now.
I'm waiting to entirely judge the inconsistencies you noted if/when we can find out what they originally had planned because this episode seemed like it was just kinda thrown together or trimmed down a lot from something bigger.
Love your reactions as you perfectly encapsulate the emotions and feelings of a SPN diehard. These last two episodes absolutely WRECKED ME; I’ll NEVER be over Cas...ever. Also not sure we can ever be ready for the final episode.
Don't question your analysis it's right on the money. Most people would tell you to turn off your brain and not think about. Also, I haven't watched this show since I don't know season 8 maybe so correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like this show is more interested in being meta and making references then telling a comprehensive well told story.
yupppp. they would absolutely sacrifice a good story and extensive world building for a cheap joke or gag for the fans to talk about. kinda sad that the story/plot isn't what made me keep watching. instead I kept watching bc I liked the characters
@@alleybox That's fair enough like I said I fell off way before this and if I'm being honest lost interest after like season 6. Only really watching for your reaction 👍🏾 so keep it up.
Am I the only one who still likes Lucifer? Him in season 5 was a cool villain. Season 7 as Sam's travel buddy was funny, Castifer was awesome. But in season 12 was when I really started to feel for him with his speech to Sam and Dean while in Vince.
Yeah.... they could have made this entire season MUCH cooler. But instead, they packed in all this interesting stuff in the last freakin episode. I'd want an apology to Lucifer.... although, I think it's actually very fitting for his character that, seeing as it's the only way to live, he'd turn around and join Chuck. After all, he was Chuck's favorite - and now we see why. And, since Chuck now wants to destroy all humans, and the Winchesters, that would be right up Lucifer's alley. It would have been funny to see them team up that way - the two ultimate villians, haha...
And Jensen said in his zoom meet and greet that Dean was processing whether Cas could as a celestial being feel human love, like of course Dean would when love comes his way. He said its open to peoples interpretations and he hopes thats not a cop out, because he doesn't mean it to be.
The issue with this episode is how poorly executed and inconsistent Chuck's defeat was. Chuck was explicitly shown to be aware of jack and billie plan to kill him in episode 15x17. So how come he let the events unfold to the point where jack became capable of taking his power ? Chuck knew that jack is the only thing capable of killing him and he knew about the bomb plan so why didn't he kill him or at least kept an eye on him ? The way they defeated chuck doesn't make sense, what also doesn't make sense is him acting so suprised when sam was explaining how they tricked him. Like seriously is this the same Chuck that master manipulated everything to the point of recovering the equalizer, making sam lose hope to heal his wound and orchestrated his own assasination attempt ? Because it looks likes for some reason Chuck suddenly became a stupid dumb character while so far he was shown to be the smartest character we have ever seen. This episode could have been as good as "swan song" if not better but unfortunately it didn't reach its potential.
See the only way I can justify it is because of Chucks personality. We’ve seen the winchesters go against gods plan and him being surprised. He thinks he is so smart, he is so egotistical, he thinks he can see all, that very ideology is what ruins him. He thinks he is this huge divine being that can’t be touched and that’s what leads to his downfall. It’s the only way I can honestly justify what happened and not just completely dislike the episode. He’s been really smart before but remember he never accounted for Cas and the Winchesters have escaped his original endings. But yeah, it still felt off. I was so underwhelmed but I’m trynna stay positive 😪
The reason Chuck knows about Billy's plan to turn Jack into a cosmic bomb was because he had a hand in orchestrating it just so he can have the Winchesters kill one another. In this episode he showed he is done writing their life story if they are going to keep defying his manipulations and won't give him the ending that he wants, so he leaves them on earth alone to suffer in isolation. If he can see all then how come he doesn't know how he dies? BECAUSE Even God is not allowed to read his own death book unless Death allows it. His ego and hubris was also his weakness along with writing himself into the story as Death already explained in the show..... AM I THE ONLY SPN FAN WHO ACTUALLY THINKS AND PAYS ANY ATTENTION TO THE DETAILS?
@@crymsonvega4854 I know he orchestrated his own death, that's irrelevant to my point because it still doesn't change the fact that was how it was written in his death book, because remember after sam stopped jack from exploding billy confirmed that the plan that was in chuck's death book changed , that means that was indeed how chuck was originaly supposed to die and proves that even if chuck can't read his own death book he still can see events surrounding his death. Thay's why it didn't make sense for him to be completely oblivious about how they defeated him, especially since jack and the boys were literally the only people left in the entire multiverse so how come he missed them planing against him. The writers obviously poorly executed his defeat.
Tho... Sam literally raised God 😳 like he immediately accepted the child of his abuser and saw the good in him, taught him that he's not a monster and that he is and can do good. Sam has been on Jack's side from the moment he was born & protected him. So he kinda saved the whole world by raising him right... unknowingly raising the future god right... DAMN (so sad we didn't get a SamxJack hug in the end, I expected one...)
Sorry if someone else explained it but Sam and Dean played on Chuck’s arrogance. It’s easy to predict that Michael would kill Lucifer since he betrayed Chuck back in the day. Easy to know that Michael is a daddy’s boy so he’d go run and tell Chuck the plan. Now I’ll admit that it was iffy to predict that Chuck wouldn’t just snap them out of existence since we see him about to do it anyways but what other card do the boys have to play at that point??? It’s go out like a hunter or die of old age on a barren planet. 🤷♂️🤷♂️
ohhhh that is so true. totally forgot about that. they probably didn't wanna risk bringing in stunt actors and people to help with fight choreography so thats understandable
@@alleybox i think people were pissed that Castiel was a victim of the bury your gays trope in 2020. He essentially tells Dean he loves him which confirms he is isn't straight and he dies immediately after. The optics on that were terrible. The ignorance of the writers for doing this now is annoying. After the past few seasons have been pretty repetitive they should have done this during season 11 at least and given us 5 seasons of that arc for Castiel. But in retrospect I'm not sure they could have handled it well. Dean being coded as bi is something the show played for gags , Dean's reaction was a little muted for his BFF dying. Misha statement sounded a little pissed with the direction they went from the little except I saw on comicbookmovie.com As a Destiel fan I don't know if I'm happy with what they did.
just an idea to the plan~ because I thought about it a lot after watching this vid~ maybe it had to do with the "Gambler" Episode where Fortuna told them - don't play by his rules, let God play by your~ for me it felt like a hustle they did with god and michael~ if you press the right button like "poking Michael with God loves Lucifer more - don't you want to be his faviourit son anymore" (to talk him into - do what god wants the most) and God with "you are pathetic"(Eileen) after Sam said "I don't even know what to call it" when they talked about not getting his hands dirty - God has a massiv Ego - so maybe they used there knowledge to let them play their game~ less a prediction and more a nudge in the right directions and with a bit of luck from Fortuna
omg this reaction was GREAT like i reacted pretty much the same way for everything when i first watched it lol, your lucifer rant? iconic. could not agree more. your comment about the camera angle when dean was on the floor KILLED me. i only just started watching your videos but i loooove them
This wouldn’t make since, but my prediction that I’ve had for the ending for a long time is: They leave the bunker, fades to black. Then cuts back with their children re-enacting the first episode because their “dads” went missing. It would make since to, “Carry on my wayward son”. That probably won’t happen, but I think it would be cool. I do like your ending though.
This episode was all over the place.. I have so many issues about the episode. So many of the things that happened in this one just didn't make any sense. I'm disappointed. I wish they could have done better than this. And the fact that Dean and Sam didn't ask from Jack to bring Cas back was so out of character, and it was so silly. I will ignore this episode for the rest of my life. Let's hope Jack brings Cas back in the next one.
If Chuck killed Sam and Dean immediately, Jack probably could've done the same thing and just brought the boys back. Kinda stupid that they brought back the same old archangel storyline but I don't see an issue with the "big end fight"
@@Nepthu yeah, the first 5 seasons were a masterpiece. Since then, they've basically just been trying to recreate the same stories over and over in slightly different ways
i would go absolutely F E R A L at the end of the next ep if we see deans kid go see sams kid after both of their dads have left on a hunt and say “our dads are on a hunting trip and they haven’t been home in a few days”
Remember when angels could read minds and stuff, let alone archangels? Yeah, the writing for this season finale wasn't anywhere near as good as it could have been. We also could have had Rowena and Amara instead of Lucifer but they just had to make it a boring sausage fest. Glad you are excited for the series finale at least.
@@moxiemaxie3543 Yeah, they mentioned there were quite a few things they had to adjust/change due to Covid unfortunately. I think there would have been more cameos from actors like that if not for this pandemic crap. That's 2020 for you...
I think I have satisfying explanation for Chuck not killing them. His idea of winning isn't the Winchesters dying. He wants their submission. While watching I thought "How are they getting up if Chuck doesn't want them to?" It's because Chuck really is applying his blows with precision. If he wants the Winchesters to choose to submit he could beat them down little by little while always leaving them in tact enough to stand if they chose to be stubborn. You could see during that scene (once you get past the editing) that Chuck is annoyed and confused that team free will won't give up. Also Jack didn't need enough energy to kill God. Just enough that he can't get killed with a snap and to get close enough to grab his face and take the rest of his powers.
They honestly could have had Michael betray them without having to bring Lucifer back so that's annoying. I think Sam and Dean thought "yeah, Chuck is gonna kill Michael and that will give Jack more power and if he kills us too in the process it's worth it." Because they were both willing to sacrifice themselves earlier when they met with Chuck in order to save everyone. So that kinda makes sense to me tbh.
I thought the episode was understandable, don't know how you didn't get it. Sam and Dean not trusting Michael was no surprise to me, Dean has already stated in previous seasons before angels are corrupted. If he believe that why would he completely trust him? Cas was the only trusting angel on the show. Chuck killing Michael makes sense also, Chuck wanted to wipe the slate clean and start completely over with everything in the universe this would include angels. This is something Sam and Dean knew. He was gonna destroy Michael sooner or later. As for Jack and Chuck. You didn't pay attention Jack didn't kill God he absorb his power leaving him not dead but powerless. He was a magnet from the Chuck/Amara bomb which is how he absorb power...
The problem with Jack becoming (an accessible) God is that Dean would want to control the world through him. Dean ALWAYS thinks he knows best and gets violent with anyone who disagrees with him, including Sam and Cas. Ironic that Dean is very much like Chuck. They both demand loyalty and treat anyone who doesn't accept their plans as potential enemies. Beyond that, the writers did Adam, Michael and Amara dirty. None of them mattered. Adam and Michael were two characters who were never fully realized. Both could have been gold mines. Pretty sad when you think about it. Sam and Dean don't even acknowledge the loss of their brother, the third (throwaway) Winchester.
Well I mean even if Chuck dusted the boys, that would've expelled a shit ton of power and Jack would've absorbed it as well, therefore allowing Jack to take chuck down and then bring the boys back to life. But yeah it is a little convoluted but eh we got dabb writing and rob singer directing next week so i'm pretty sure we'll be fine
The fight scene with Chuck reminded me of the season finale of 13. Not very choreographed at all. But then none of the fight scenes really were since Lou Bollo left. Also the part (besides Lucifer) that really pissed me off was the end when they were explaining what happened to Jack. But the part where they find out Jack is the new god in the daylight makes sense because it gives them hope that things will be different.
The part where Jack explains to Sam and Dean about his role as God was very much like the Gospel of St. Thomas, where the Kingdom of God was inside each and every single person. Lucifer made a huge strategic blunder by killing the new Death (Betty) and then taking her book. He forgot that only Death can read it, not Lucifer, so it was worthless in his hands. Lucifer kept miscalculating over and over again. One of my favorite examples was when he tried to destroy Amara with the Horn of Joshua. Nope, didn't work. Or his insane, ludicrous pipe dream where he and his son, Jack, rules the universe as father and son, like when Darth Vader was telling that to Luke. Or how about when Lucifer was holding the throne in Heaven and Sister Jo gets into his face about his much of an utter failure he was as a leader, that he might as well go back to his Cage. That was when Lucifer flew into a rage, grabbed Sister Jo by the throat because he knew that she laid the hard truth on him and he couldn't handle it. Lucifer's response was the kind of male violence that women know all too well. I think they're going to go back to basics in the finale episode where the Winchesters hunt a demon of some kind who's been causing trouble. And then, the Winchesters will probably retire and live the life they've wanted to but weren't able to for so many years. They may show them many years later towards the end. I was very relieved and happy when Jack said that he and Amara merged together. God screwed her so many times and it was clear that he screwed her over yet again when he convinced her to merge with him.
Actually I think the whole point of bringing Lucifer and Michael back into the fray wasn't just a nod of things going full circle, but the very fact that (like you said) it's been played out so many times, that the boys could very easily predict exactly what those two idiots would do. As petty as Chuck has been, it wasn't a stretch at all that he would kill Michael in retribution either. Now the questionable part was Chuck getting his hands dirty, but Sam intentionally instigated that with a punch of his own. It was a gamble, but I think a smart one. However, despite those elements of the plan, all those 'god power' punches still shouldn't have been able to siphon off the power of Chuck so quickly by Jack, so my theory on that is it was due to Amara changing sides in that moment after seeing all Chuck had done. (I base this on Jack mentioning that she was with him and in harmony... and that elements that would have explained that further; including perhaps a cameo from the actress, got effected by the Covid issue, and them having to cut various things...) But who knows, you could be right too, could just be the stupidity of that particular writer. ;)
The only explanation for them knowing that god would beat them up instead of instant kill is because Chuck is very theatrical and the boys knew and depended on that. I would also assume that if god kills them next to jack, it would still power jack up. So, I’m sure they were willing to take whatever happened. That’s the only justification I can come up with
The way Sam came up with a spell that fooled both Michael and God himself to be one that could actually finish the almighty.... Love my smart and witchy Sam
They should have brought back Raphael instead of Lucifer, the guy hasn't had screen time since season 6 and he's a freaking Archangel. Raphael could have easily filled this role and it would have been a much cooler throwback.
Having Pellegrino back to cameo was for the fans who recognize him as the show's greatest big bad, given the Covid travel restrictions it was a minor miracle he could show up...
"MiKeyS a cOk" Everyone has there opinions ig but I think Lucifer is funny af and I'm glad they brought him back for the last episode, I really wished Instead that he would have helped them take down God because then he possibly could have got his redemption...I think it should have ended the same way jus god beating up Lucifer, Micheal, Sam and dean, all at once and they all did they shoulder grab like sam and dean did when they were getting beat tf up then they say the same thing "you lose" then it's jacks spotlight. I don't know i was jus hoping Lucifer could have changed in the end and maybe jack could have gave him a true soul, as well as Micheal...and they would feel pain and guilt truly and care for ppl...
The only time I've enjoyed Lucifer since Season 5 was Rick Springfield's portrayal in Season 12, because he was the only one who really seemed to take the character seriously. Tbh Jared's portrayal in s5 was the best performance of Lucifer, and Mark P was really good at him back then too. But then Hallucifer happened, and then when Luci came back for real in season 11 it was like the writers forgot that Lucifer was a completely different character before season 7, and that's bugged me ever since. Lucifer is not threatening when he's just a pop-culture-savvy, wisecracking prick. I hate what they did to Lucifer and Michael's characters in this episode especially. They both deserved a full episode, at least, because just shoving them in here for five minutes was rushed as fuck. I really hate that they gave Bucklemming this episode. Actually I really hate that they didn't fire Bucklemming years ago
The cast have discussed that E19 was the finale for S15, and E20 is the finale for the series. I don’t know if they filmed anything with Misha for the last episode (reminder they had to rework the end due the the p**demic), but it makes more sense, and more impactful if Cas returns in e20, rather than an end of ep reunion.
Hope we get Sam grieving Cas next episode, didn't get a lot of it in this ep... 😩 I mean he has had 12 years of deep friendship with this guy I need to see more than denial
You 15:50 "I'm sorry but that was like the dumbest shit ever and I'm like not into it and um I'm gonna pretend the last like 7 minutes never happened okay" If that's the case then everything that happened after never happened.... If it wasn't for Lucifer, Michael wouldn't try to betray the others to please God again, and Sam, Dean, and Jack wouldn't use it to their benefit for their Plan B in the first place. SO DEAL WITH IT.
Lucifer was one of the best villains in show. We got to see him be top dog when he first came on the show. To being a drama queen on the show. To being what he really was this whole time a broken person/ archangel who wanted to be daddy number one over everyone. Even though he was right about Chuck/God this whole time and still got used.
I've been re-watching the show. Some episodes more often than others... Anyway, it occurred to me that the 3 episodes -- 15x17, 15x18, and 15x19 -- make a great 3-part finale for not just the season 15, but for the entire series. The song "Get Together" by the Youngbloods, which played as we saw Jack bringing everyone back, was perfect for bringing closure to the overall theme of the show. The reminder/flashback montage, accompanied by "Running on Empty" by Jackson Browne, was a wonderful visual summary of the 15 seasons. [Also, it follows from the scene in which Sam and Dean toast to "all we have lost along the way."] For me, this gives better closure than does 15x20. [With a couple of caveats: In 15x20, it was nice to see that "Baby" got to go to heaven, since she was such an important character in the show; AND we get to find out that Jack had resurrected Cass, who helped Jack re-design heaven.] PS: (I realize they had wanted to do more with 15x20 but were limited by Covid. )
I think br8inging Lucifer filled two roles this episode: 1) it gave Jack a considerable boost in power making him no-selling God easier to swallow and 2) it demonstrated that God can absolutely pull someone out of The Empty whenever he wants so Jack pulling Cass out isn't even a question (granted they still should have brought it up).
Also, it gave more evidence that when Lucifer wants to trick a person into doing what he wants, he disguises himself as someone whom the person loves. When Lucifer needed a temporary vessel, he tricked Nick by posing as Nick's dead wife. When Lucifer wanted Sam to be his actual vessel, Lucifer disguised himself as Sam's dead girlfriend Jessica. When Lucifer wanted to be let into the locked down Bunker, he disguises his voice in a phone call to Dean. The voice he chooses is Castiel's voice (who by this time has been taken by the Empty.
@alleybox My theory for the ending is that the episode shows a montage of Sam & Dean getting older, then it shows their tombstones & them in Heaven. They arrive in Heaven & maybe meet Bobby & others, but the main thing I want is for Sam & Dean to see Jack in Heaven & for the episode to end with Jack smiling & saying "Hello".
A few thoughts. First, I see the Lucifer/Michael thing as being tired on purpose. Chuck has run out of ideas. Think about it. When he first went after Michael, he brought back Lillith. YAWN. Michael got rid of her quick. Now he squares off Lucifer and Michael YET AGAIN. Chuck can't be bothered to (or actually cannot manage to) come up with something fresh. And so the whole plot cancels itself out in about five minutes. The important part is they opened the book and saw it wasn't going to help them. Then note that we see Michael on his own. Sam, Dean, and Jack are conspiring. They set up Michael with this whole spell thing so that Chuck will show up. And remember this conspiring takes place AFTER Jack sucked up Lucifer's power, so he, and thus the boys, now know exactly what's going on with Jack. And yeah, out in the woods, Chuck could have killed them quickly, which is why Sam punches him in the face. They know Chuck will want to gloat. Besides, Jack at that point at least has Lucifer's power, so he can always resurrect Sam and Dean if Chuck kills them. But seriously, they know he'll drag it out. When they get up smiling I assume Jack has given them the signal he's powered up and ready to go.
I feel like this episode is garage, BUT I still kinda loved it. That's honestly my general feelings towards most episodes of this show since season 11. "You're a cuck." I never thought that line would be in Supernatural, and I was ok with that..
i feel like everyone in the fandom seemed to hate this episode i kind of liked it. i wasn’t emotionally prepared for anything, especially after last episode jfc. i’m glad we/they finally got a win (chuck was getting a little stale, too, so im glad he’s not the focus of the next episode, despite how much i love rob)
i feel that! i just saw sooo many accounts i follow absolutely despise this episode and i dont really understand that pov. like there were aspects i didnt enjoy as much, but i still liked it over all and it was a p alright episode
The keystone of that plan apart from the jack bomb was lucifers childish behavior mocking michael, had lucifer just left and no exchange was made chances are jack would have been near useless though I could be wrong. Chucks biggest faults were absorbing amara and thinking he was untouchable along with the fact he let his hubris betray his own nature and got his hands dirty.
I reckon they end it with one last hunt, plus I've been rewatching previous episode and in season 12 before Jack was born ,Castiel saw a version of the future a future where there's peace and no pain or hatred so I think they might show somthing like that for the final episode
I agree with you on the plan. How did he become a vacuum after the explosion? How did Sam and Dean know wtf that is? When did they discuss it? I thought Jack was just killing plants left right and centre. Sam initiated punching Chuck so it sort of makes sense that they would expect God to beat their asses. But how did they know about Jack's ability and how / why. I need way more explanation and I'm disappointed.
I re-watched. The explosion inside Jack was originally going to create a black hole, which would suck everything into it. If Billie hadn't sent Jack to the Empty, the explosion/implosion would have sucked Chuck and Amara into it. The black hole wouldn' t have let anything leave it. So it would be a 'cage' for Chuck and Amara. Instead, it exploded in the Empty and affected Jack in such a way that he was similar to a 'black hole' for energy/power. So as he walked by planters on the street, he unknowingly absorbed their life energy. Eventually, the only energy he absorbed was 'god energy' from the dying Lucifer, the dying Michael; and from the god energy expended by Chuck as he tried to beat up the Winchesters. (Earlier, as Lucifer and Michael fought, Jack noticed his power increasing. The camera would 'look' at Jack as more energy was expended in their fight. Jack's posture and expression changed as more energy was expended. It was subtle, but he started looking stronger, his posture was straighter...)
They didn’t know, they just literally had no other choice but to put things together and make a shot in the dark. Besides, Michael did tell them that Chuck knew he sided with the winchesters and wouldn’t like that, so when the boys and Michael agreed to meet Chuck, they only hoped Chuck would be upset at Michael and kill him.
I think the thing was Castiel is that he's probably asleep in the empty like the rest of the angles and demons while Lucifer was already awake in the empty since Nick woke him up so it might have been still hard for Chuck to get Lucifer out but with Lucifer, who's an archangel, also pushing to get out from the other side it was possible

All good.
@alley box
TH-cam these days . . . I swear they're trying to drive people crazy with copyright b.s.
As for the ep itself, it reminded me of a line Dean said in the season 5 finale:"Well if you do see God, you tell him I'm comin' for him next"
Fast forward 10 years . . .
Your review is the one I'm always looking forward to, keep up the good work
The scene were Dean asked what in the world is real and then castiel said that they were.
New prediction, Gabriel shows up and says, "Gotchya!" Then Sam and Dean are back at The Mystery Spot. "It was the heat of the moment". "Pig and a Poke!"
😳
I love Gabriel so much as well as the actor who plays him. It will be a crime if he doesn't show up next episode.

Lucifer wasn’t that bad at the start of his character, but they kept dragging it out and dragging it out. It made Lucifer redundant and repetitive. Lucifer can (no pun intended) burn.
exactlyyyyy. him in s5 was greatttt... now im tired 😭
true
Frankly, the writers did that with a lot of characters. How many times can there be a fight between the brothers? Sam and Dean aren't talking to each other, then they make up 10 minutes later. The show was fairly repetitive.

@@Xbitxx the only way the show kept going was because of destiel bye
Also funny that the whole subplot of there not being enough angels, and Heaven in danger of losing power, was just swept under the rug and forgotten 😄
You know, this annoys me SO MUCH. When they teased this and then Cas made a deal I thought this was material for at least two or three more seasons, but a couple of weeks.later they announce 15 is the final season. Also the way they teased Mary/Bobby (which I always saw as Mary choosing a partner by free will and not by angelic interference) just for her to die and return to John?!?!
omg forreallll. i think about the angel thing so much and the fact they never brought it up again... *chefs kiss* would expect nothing less 🤩

I might be the only one but rip for micheal and I wish adam said goodbye since he is their brother
oh trueee :( adam deserved a better ending ngl but he has always been forgotten so 😭
@@alleybox I noticed it too. The writers did Adam and Michael dirty. Both characters would have been cool to explore. Instead, we got filler episodes like the one about the hotel witch. It's sad how Sam and Dean never even acknowledge their third brother.
You're not the only one. Even the actor; Jake Abel, said he wished his character Adam had gotten to say goodbye as well in an interview.
mans went through it,rip adam
Jensen said that episode 19 felt like a finale and episode 20 really felt like the end of a show.
Jensen said that when he read the script he had a hard time understanding and accepting the end for a while, then talked about it with his family and accepted it, and cried again.
they did adamichael dirty. the characters were so ooc and the mourning for cas only lasted like 2 seconds it was soooo bad
ALSO, on his private zoom call with fans today Jensen said a lot of interesting things. Some fans are mad about it but >>> IN MY OPINION
@@debbiewoweries9912 Yeah, he also said that even Dean didn’t know he could love since it’s such a deep human feeling and that added to his shook
Firstly: Lucifer 🤮 when I saw the scene where he pretends to be Cas I thought: "I thought I couldn't hate this character more, but here I am."
And secondly: The way they just forget their friends and Eileen and Cas exist in the end - HOW??! WHY? What kind of stupid bronly appeasing bullshit is this?
I hope they rectify it in S20 but my hopes aren't very big because apparently it has to end the way it started because what even is character development? (Sorry for being salty :/)
When you get to the finale of Buffy and Angel, you will see what great writing is.
Exactly.. because dean is not gay/bi
I haven’t read through all the comments and I don’t know if you’ve see this but I’ve heard this going around.
Lucifer used Nicks wife to get Nick to let him in
Lucifer used Jess to get Sam to let him in
Lucifer used Cas to get Dean to let him in
Lucifer uses people’s desires , what they truly want the most, to manipulate them to let him in.
How does that make any sense?
@@Xbitxx What do you mean? I guess “Let him in” could be a little strange wording. But it just meant Lucifer was using people’s deepest desire to get what he wanted. Lucifer wanted to use Sam and Nick as a vessel, “let him in” to their body. And he literally needed Dean to let him into the bunker lol
Heck no, I’m not skipping your intro!!! You are a Destiel girl after my own HEART. 🥰 WE DO NOT DESERVE MISHA-
Yeah, that montage huuurt.
I'm waiting to entirely judge the inconsistencies you noted if/when we can find out what they originally had planned because this episode seemed like it was just kinda thrown together or trimmed down a lot from something bigger.
ooooo that is very true. im sure a lot of it had to be changed due to covid
@@alleybox Jensen Ackles has already said things were taken out due to Covid. One of them was a John and Mary reunion in the after life.

@@alleybox and that’s EXACTLY why they canonized “destiel” on episode 18.. for exactly the reason you just claimed above. ^^^
Am I the only one who still likes Lucifer? Him in season 5 was a cool villain. Season 7 as Sam's travel buddy was funny, Castifer was awesome. But in season 12 was when I really started to feel for him with his speech to Sam and Dean while in Vince.
You're not alone he was a cool character throughout the show.
Yeah.... they could have made this entire season MUCH cooler. It would have been funny to see them team up that way - the two ultimate villians, haha...
yass i like him too
And Jensen said in his zoom meet and greet that Dean was processing whether Cas could as a celestial being feel human love, like of course Dean would when love comes his way.

Writers lie...
I like this comment Lazy Wonderer. 😁

Jack also stole some of the emptys power when Billy sent him there. They said this episode was a season finale and next week is the series finale.
Last episode saw us all crying out of pain. This episode had us crying out of relief, happiness, and confusion.
I think the choreography/editing was off due to social distancing. It was really clear with the Michael / Lucifer battle, but ya.
ohhhh that is so true. totally forgot about that. they probably didn't wanna risk bringing in stunt actors and people to help with fight choreography so thats understandable

I'm just over here manifesting a happy ending and for Sam and Dean to reunite with Eileen and Cas.
To be honest, they've exhausted so many potential endings that I can see that being the ending and I'd actually find that somewhat satisfying.
No...
Maybe Sam will have kids but Dean has already tried that and it was not for him
This episode was all over the place.. I have so many issues about the episode. So many of the things that happened in this one just didn't make any sense. I'm disappointed. I wish they could have done better than this. And the fact that Dean and Sam didn't ask from Jack to bring Cas back was so out of character, and it was so silly.
I think Sam and Dean thought "yeah, Chuck is gonna kill Michael and that will give Jack more power and if he kills us too in the process it's worth it."
Because they were both willing to sacrifice themselves earlier when they met with Chuck in order to save everyone.
So that kinda makes sense to me tbh.
I keep on forgetting that they filmed these last two episodes during Covid. So, when they don't hug or touch I feel like want to cry.
Still surprised Chuck was written to call Micheal that word 😂
Cuck is a weak man, Lucy didn't say the other word you think he said mark has a bad accent
And what word was that?
To me it sounded like another c word for mens special purpose😄. I had to go back and put captions on
I thought the episode was understandable, don't know how you didn't get it.
Crowley was one of my favorites, not all the time but he had his moments with the bros
But the part where they find out Jack is the new god in the daylight makes sense because it gives them hope that things will be different.
how can you not like marks lucifer. he is super loved and brought back to just pay homage to the character......
(I base this on Jack mentioning that she was with him and in harmony... and that elements that would have explained that further; including perhaps a cameo from the actress, got effected by the Covid issue, and them having to cut various things...)
But who knows, you could be right too, could just be the stupidity of that particular writer. ;)
The only explanation for them knowing that god would beat them up instead of instant kill is because Chuck is very theatrical and the boys knew and depended on that. I would also assume that if god kills them next to jack, it would still power jack up. So, I’m sure they were willing to take whatever happened.
That’s the only justification I can come up with
Been waiting for this lol.
"All people are gone... there is noone" - 2 cars casually roaming behind Sam or Dean (can't remember) xD
Having Pellegrino back to cameo was for the fans who recognize him as the show's greatest big bad, given the Covid travel restrictions it was a minor miracle he could show up...
"MiKeyS a cOk"
Everyone has there opinions ig but I think Lucifer is funny af and I'm glad they brought him back for the last episode, I really wished Instead that he would have helped them take down God because then he possibly could have got his redemption...I think it should have ended the same way jus god beating up Lucifer, Micheal, Sam and dean, all at once and they all did they shoulder grab like sam and dean did when they were getting beat tf up then they say the same thing "you lose" then it's jacks spotlight.
I think it was really their only option left. So they didn’t know it would work, but it did. They were chancing it cuz there was nothing left to lose.
The cast have discussed that E19 was the finale for S15, and E20 is the finale for the series. I don’t know if they filmed anything with Misha for the last episode (reminder they had to rework the end due the the p**demic), but it makes more sense, and more impactful if Cas returns in e20, rather than an end of ep reunion.
i like how you said "season finale" and "series finale". i didnt think of it that way before, but now that you mentioned it, it makes sense.
Hope we get Sam grieving Cas next episode, didn't get a lot of it in this ep... 😩 I mean he has had 12 years of deep friendship with this guy I need to see more than denial
You 15:50 "I'm sorry but that was like the dumbest shit ever and I'm like not into it and um I'm gonna pretend the last like 7 minutes never happened okay"
If that's the case then everything that happened after never happened.... If it wasn't for Lucifer, Michael wouldn't try to betray the others to please God again, and Sam, Dean, and Jack wouldn't use it to their benefit for their Plan B in the first place. SO DEAL WITH IT.
if jack is god... i can’t see why cas can’t come back? it will piss me off if they don’t do it in the next episode.
Misha, Jensen, Jared all cried reading the script of the last episode and I don't know what to expect, so we'll see😅
Probably cried at how awful it is
They did Chuck dirty. I cried like a little bitch
yesss the part where Chuck was beating them up over and over made me laugh hahaha
baby I'm not even here
I'm a hallucination
[Also, it follows from the scene in which Sam and Dean toast to "all we have lost along the way."]
For me, this gives better closure than does 15x20.
[With a couple of caveats: In 15x20, it was nice to see that "Baby" got to go to heaven, since she was such an important character in the show;
AND we get to find out that Jack had resurrected Cass, who helped Jack re-design heaven.]
PS: (I realize they had wanted to do more with 15x20 but were limited by Covid.
Your little edits in these videos are e v e r y t h i n g
I think they just didn’t they had anything left to lose, so they just went with the only plan that could work
@alleybox My theory for the ending is that the episode shows a montage of Sam & Dean getting older, then it shows their tombstones & them in Heaven. They arrive in Heaven & maybe meet Bobby & others, but the main thing I want is for Sam & Dean to see Jack in Heaven & for the episode to end with Jack smiling & saying "Hello".
I’ve been WAITING for you to react to this episode!!!!
I love lucifer man i don't understand why you hate it
I feel like this episode is garage, BUT I still kinda loved it. That's honestly my general feelings towards most episodes of this show since season 11. "You're a cuck." I never thought that line would be in Supernatural, and I was ok with that..
i feel like everyone in the fandom seemed to hate this episode
i kind of liked it. i wasn’t emotionally prepared for anything, especially after last episode jfc. i’m glad we/they finally got a win (chuck was getting a little stale, too, so im glad he’s not the focus of the next episode, despite how much i love rob)
I don't think it's everyone in the fandom that hates the end only certain groups in the fandom hate it
i feel that! i just saw sooo many accounts i follow absolutely despise this episode and i dont really understand that pov. like there were aspects i didnt enjoy as much, but i still liked it over all and it was a p alright episode
Ally loosing her shit during the montage is the funniest thing ever!!!
P.S. - Sorry for laughing at your misery.
The time has come
18:39 someone else perceived scooby do vibes when they catch the bad guy and count how they did it
They didn’t know, they just literally had no other choice but to put things together and make a shot in the dark. Besides, Michael did tell them that Chuck knew he sided with the winchesters and wouldn’t like that, so when the boys and Michael agreed to meet Chuck, they only hoped Chuck would be upset at Michael and kill him.
I mean it doesn’t matter when everyone else is not over it and loves it.
I may not be religious but I believe in Jack
It ends like a finale so it makes me wonder what is so big that happens to give us a 2 hour finale
Grrreeeaaat episode and in true SPN form...
Adam gets SCA-REWWW-DAH!!!
12:32 she sees the actor on the street and she just goes crazy and starts saying fuck you chuck and starts beating him up lmao 😂🤣😹
