- PURE LIFE X IKLECTIK
In 2021, with lockdown restrictions withdrawing and appetite for real world connection and experiences at an all time high we really wanted to take the label to a physical, real space where we could showcase what our label and artists were about.
It was difficult, few venues either could fulfill our technical requirements or just weren't interested in anything outside major label touring outfits. However, IKLECTIK welcomed us with open arms.
When we arrived, we were taken aback by how in the culturally barren desert of central London such a place could exist; a true oasis in the aptly named Paradise Yard. Not just a rarity in London but in the vast majority of the UK.
Isa and Eduard were amazing, hands on and really interested in helping us bring our vision to life. They radiated positivity and enthusiasm and always made us feel comfortable in their home.
We put on 3 events in 2021, 2022 and 2023 in IKLECTIK and every event was hugely important to the label for fans and artists alike. They were events where rare live performances were shared, friendships started and bonds were cemented. A true URL to IRL transition for the label.
Unfortunately, despite months of spirited campaigning and protest, in early 2024, IKLECTIK and all the other businesses were evicted from Paradise Yard by the powers that be.
However, THIS IS NOT THE END.
IKLECTIK successfully raised funds to start a new venture THE ART LAB amongst other projects that will help cultivate and maintain spaces for grassroots experimental and independent artists. We hope the ART LAB can be the future home of all Pure Live events going forward.
