Ta Oy was featured in the documentary Bomb Harvest. The entire area was smashed by the US military.
Was just looking at this village on Google maps, the satellite images. All around this area is completely pock marked with craters, and not just little ones.. absolutely smashed this area!

@@NowinLao ,, yeah, I enlarged the area around Ta Oy in Google Earth. Not only pock marked but also defoliated. That strip between the Bolaven Plateau and the Vietnamese border, especially hard hit. Ta Oy is on the northern edge of the Bolaven Plateau.
Very touching video of these villages you are touring. I love how both of you are planting the seeds of compassion and generosity for Mina. I believe this is such a great learning process for her and she will become a wonderful person when she grows up. Take care always and stay safe.
Such sweet people that keep their village clean and orderly. To see the expression of joy on their faces is so precious. Todd and Neenee, you continue to do the good work. You guys are truly
Legends Be Well ! Stay Healthy! 🙏🙏 Jim and Harriet
Always doing good deeds for the less fortunate...❤
Very clean and neat village - having the main man around was certainly helpful - happy people laughing and smiling - appreciate you taking us along 😃👌👋👍🙏
Great to have ya along Ant!
At first, I wondered what the butterfly was for. I guess you could also use a fig leaf😂 Mina is at such a tender, impressionable age. It is priceless that she is seeing and participating in you and NeeNee's kindness and generosity towards these sweet and needy people. I think it will have such a positive impact! Thank you🌺
This series is therapy for the soul. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Glad you're enjoying it Jared 😁
If only the world would take the lead from these humble respectful people we would all be in a far better place. So nice to see the green grass in the villages as opposed to the completely swept area of many villages. Absolutely charming friendly people. Bushyboy Oz.
Amen brother
very traditional, everything look so authentic..loas definitely a gem of tradition treasure which still less westernized..cool
Hi Guys Realy well kept village. Nice to see the village chief being protective, but I guess he did not get te memo about Covid no longer being an issue over a year ago.
Nice gesture on your part for poor people of village. Nice film.
I know how troubling this can be..... appropriate music Todd
there are polite. well behaved . all the best for them and you too.
Beautiful village, and lovely people.
Hi brother,,truly a nice village! The stilt buildings are so dang practical. Very attractive too. I've got my ground floor stilt house all mentally designed,,barby,,hammocks,,live edge table ,,chairs,,firepit with a ring designed to return smoke so it wouldnt be too thick. Mina the most excellent helper. That girl is intuitively smart,,she can almost read your minds already. Poor,,but sweet thankful people. Did the teen girl you gave a dress to have a lame foot? Wonder if she had family? She was very thankful as well. Thank you guys and everyone that can donate,,for all this. I know it's kind of a collaborative effort. Bob was a perfect choice for music today,,,his old mate from the Band,,the ones that backed him when he went electric in 67,,his mate,,the singer guitarist Robbie Robertson died about 12 pm today in Los Angeles's. I loved his music! He was half Mohawk Native American and half Jewish. Was kind of an intellectual,,,one of those guys that became a brilliant orator when he smoked weed,,unlike me ,,who became an instant retard! That's why I haven't used that stuff in 40 years.. Thanks for putting this up,,and thank you for your generosity,,not only with the clothing etc,,but for my niece too! Ttyl,,,Marlon
Hahaha that makes two retards mate.. I was the same 😏

Great vlog again Todd and Neenee. What a wonderful village to visit and the village chief such a great guy, showing you around with pride and taking you to the most needy. Obviously a great little community who take care of their village in the traditional way. I love the way that Mina is always wanting to help. God bless you all as always 😀❤🙏
Yes, he was very proud of his village. Beautiful place 👌
You guys are great people :D

Why do you think you to for bringing this to my television? I can't believe the steel poverty in the world today in 2023. TH-cam are doing such a good job. Educate in the little one and keep up the good work 🙏🏽💯👍🏼
Another good day 'eh.. boy, you're sure putting that ol' truck through it's paces....
Will keep doing it till I can't 😉👍
A very thoughtful video. Thank you
Beautiful
03:00 you could fall in love with an orangutan in that jungle, and nobody but you and the orang would ever know.
The village chief is so young to have such responsibility. such a serious young man.
That poor girl with the crippled hand. And you're right, it is so clean, no litter or rubbish lying around.
Haha got a thing about our orange brothers Brian.. ? 😆
Very proud village Chief.
Thanks

First, I saw your post about donating blood. Good job. 👍👍I am familiar with three Taoy villages from 20 years ago. I would be very happy if those villages are as prosperous as this village. Lots of hard, hard work. My guess is that most of the boards for the houses were sawn by hand. My highlights from the video were the power lines and satellite dishes, the absence of traditional houses and animal sacrifice posts, seeing the little bit of traditional bamboo fencing (at 6:20), seeing well fed children and the smiles all around. Low light was the pipes. I think that the tubes for the bellows were probably made from war materials.
My wife and I tried to go to this village about 25 years ago. We did not have a truck and no one would take us there as the village forbid anyone coming there. Finally we had to go top the into the mountains on a different road, We hiked up a trail onto the Ho Chi Min trail. At one point we walked upon a SAM missile still sitting on its trailer. Made in Russia right on it. Took photos as we had never seen anything like this. There seemed to be no way they could get it there. Who knows?
That entire region running through Salavan, Savannakhet, Sekong and Attapeu was a network of trails used by the North Vietnamese to transport men and machinery into South Vietnam. In places, the trail network spanned 50 kilometres wide. No one, except the North Vietnamese and Pathet Lao knew which trails were being used.
Great adventure ❤
Hey Todd, heard there’s flooding in Vientiane, hope you’re high and dry. Nev
All good mate, hasn't broke the banks yet 👌
🍻🇦🇺
I don't think I saw any motor vehicles in that village!
I think you're right.. unusual hey
Todd as always a superb vlog
Todd u need a modified jeep
Always helping those in need
I’ve never seen u pack cigs for the seniors as they do smoke heavily unless things have changed ?
At 13 mins, the head chief says the foreigners who come past never ask for permission to take photos...that is a shame.
What a well oiled village , Todd 👏👍 the roads are a bit of an obstacle course🤔 Reminds me of the horseshoe , Between Bowraville and Bellingen👍
Beautiful area around the Nambucca area there Kim 💚
@@NowinLao YES , GODS COUNTRY TODD , THATS WHERE I LIVE 👏👌👍😋 NAMBUCCA HEADS
@@KimWright-wq8cu we used to holiday down by the V wall when my children were young. Loved the place 💚
ทำดีได้ดี ทำชั่วได้ชั่ว🙏🖕great video & great job as always, kudos
Never give fish, give them net... and show them how to use it....🏋🏻♀️🤟🏋🏻♀️
I understand what you mean, but catching food to eat doesn't give you the money to buy necessities such as salt, cooking oil, soap, washing detergent, sanitary products, clothes, shoes etc. 😉
Mobile phones are still affordable however poor people are.
You know, your travel plans are changed. No way you drop her back off 👀
😐
Lol Perot with hook
Unbelievable what the US did and still to this day refuse to acknowledge what they did to Laos.
Good Morning Tobb .. Keep up the good work.. Not long now and I'll be in Laos for 4 months.. Also sorted out my place in Savannakhet for 5,000THB per month..
... would be so nice if borders would be open and everybody could walk, ride cycle over the bridge to Mukdahan. That would be a true friendshipbridge
@@_Alfa.Bravo_ Totally agree with you.. I'm very much into mountaineering so I'll try to bring something different to the table.. 😁

Have u considered giving mosquito nets?
The list is endless, but it all comes down to what most people will need and space that we have
How long do you have the little girl for? It seems like it’s been a while.
A couple more weeks David.. been with us about 5 werks
What would it cost to rent a 4x 4 truck ?
do you know of a person username I think woodyhookah, his name is bob sent you a Ohio state shirt from the u.s.he say he knows you & nene. told me he drank & had fun w/ you lol. he's my cousin through marriage & saw him at my uncle's home whom pass away last week.
Haha yes! Had a great night with them here at our restaurant. Surprised me with the shirt, even tho I do cop shit from some for wearing it 😜😆 lol Say hi to them for us. Sorry to hear about your uncle 🙏
Them teen girls smoking that big pipe... Too young.
I was reading on Google,it says Laos is one of the most bomb country by the Americans.
Not one of, but the most one ton for every head of population at the time.
The most, and the area around Ta Oy especially hard hit.
Thanks!
You're a good man Kirk, thank you 🙏
