Great stuff. This is the first time I'm seeing you with the tele. I was wondering what the inspiration was. I just got a tele, inspired by Julian Lage, Bill Frissell, and Jim Campilongo. It sounds like you're taking some inspiration from Bill in particular, but definitely making it your own. In fact, I've been thinking that your style and compositional sense would work great on a tele - it's like having a dream come true. Can't wait for more!
Yeah, Ted was great, but in my mind he's more of a great jazz guitarist who played a tele rather than a tele player who played jazz. The difference? Ted's stuff doesn't rely on some of the dynamic and intonation possibilities of the tele, his greatness lies in his harmonic/melodic movement and would sound pretty similar on an archtop, whereas the guys I mentioned shape their music according to the instrument to varying degrees - I read an interview where Lage said he felt he needed to relearn the guitar when he switched to the tele and was still learning it's possibilities. I just felt these types of possibilities would be great for gHex to explore, especially in the songs where his solos are more "impressionistic".
He has a pitch shifter affecting the lower strings (or may be just the 6th string) but not the higher strings. Anyone knows how does this work? A MIDI pick-up? Thanks. (Awesome playing btw!)
@@cfibanez "Pedal Tricks: Crafting Different Guitar Voices With Gilad Hekselman | Reverb Demo Video" This video shows how he uses a Boss oc-3 or oc-2 to only affect the lower strings
G always kills it.......now check him out on 8/30/17 and 8/31/17 at SmallsLive (shameless plug for the best jazz club ever). Plus all the archived stuff he has available through Smalls. I'm no longer on Facebook. I hope Baby G is doing well and parenting is treating you well, G. Peace, bro.

Used to use a boss pedal for it, there is a video that breaks it down on YT somewhere
@@sc9604 A regular pitch shifter pedal that only affects the 6th string? Are you sure?
