I agree with you on Atif Mian issue. No law disallow Ahmadis to hold public office position (except a few), but knowing something in isolation is not enough, we have to consider the context. The context is, Pakistan has a religiously extremist society and the govt. is weak. Now, considering this context, the govt. should never had considered Mian Atif for this, somewhat prominent, position unless religious extremism in society is reduced to the minimum (by other means), that should be the first step. Knowing when/how to apply your knowledge in the given context is wisdom. But once the appointment was declared and there was a public outcry, I agree the matter should have been referred to the court. It would have been a better approach.

I agree with you on Atif Mian issue. No law disallow Ahmadis to hold public office position (except a few), but knowing something in isolation is not enough, we have to consider the context. The context is, Pakistan has a religiously extremist society and the govt. is weak. Now, considering this context, the govt. should never had considered Mian Atif for this, somewhat prominent, position unless religious extremism in society is reduced to the minimum (by other means), that should be the first step. Knowing when/how to apply your knowledge in the given context is wisdom.
But once the appointment was declared and there was a public outcry, I agree the matter should have been referred to the court. It would have been a better approach.
