As a student who was left out in the cold by NSFAS this year, I almost gave up on finishing my studies this year due to being defunded. Thankfully, in my case, the private sector stepped in
You're lucky Trevor in my case my qualifications are withheld by institution because NSFAS didn't pay the University so they decided to hold on my qualifications documents it is very difficult to apply for a job without my degree certificate eish.
Sibongile Mani was charged for spending money that was incorrectly sent to her but the actual thieves are still walking free. That money was not an accounting error they just sent it to the wrong person imo.
She's no different naye loyo. How do you spend so much NSFAS money, while being an SRC member who deals with hungry students complaining about NSFAS every day?? She did not even bother to assist the feeding scheme but purchased weaves, iphones and alcohol. She would have done a lot worse in government.
Many have warned over and over against groups like the ANC and EFF and were ridiculed as racists. Politicians were, and are still to this day, pitting the people of SA against one another. But people's eyes are slowly opening up. What politicians fear most is when people stand together. So they will pit us against one another to distract us from their looting spree.

Well done Carte Blanche. You nailed this story. It is our view however, that the dots ultimately link to Blade Nzimande. He appointed Nongogo, Khosa and a number of others linked to gross maladministration and corrupt conduct in various SETAs, TVET Colleges, NSFAS, etc.
What about the taxpayer that is paying for all this? Because at the end of the day, it comes out of the pocket of hard worker men and women of South Africa. LET NOT FORGET THAT! So the ultimate victims are the taxpayers!
When we marched in 2016 we knew what we wanted and how to get it. During that time with the contributions of various academias and student leaders across all institutions we developed a detailed document titled "Thuto ke Lesedi". It speaks about how the government should make money to fund free education. Unfortunately our government never got to see it Blade was too arrogant to listen to the students. I still have a copy of the document
Do these guys really think that they are capable of doing business when they don't understand anything about business? They can do anything illegally, 100%
Our tax money 😢 as tax payers we are abused and benefits nothing from the money government takes from use monthly even wen we go pension sars still tax the very some fund that comes from the money they have already taxed before.

At times you find that the children of civil servants will attend cheaper Universities made special for Black students during Apartheid because they can never afford to sustain a standard of living as well as pay tuition fees for Higher Education at the bestowed white institutions in South Africa whilst they serve the state dedicated to transitional constitutionality. How can we say the constitution is transitional when civil servants lack benefits to take their own children to Universities that they can actually qualify to get into just because they earn more than a R 29 000 a month *before tax* . This means they must never be able to obtain certain things . This may lead to patrimonial loss because cars and homes are sold by civil servants so that they can take their children to school. People move from areas they could previously afford to other areas so they can simply afford school fees. Keep in mind that civil servants are prohibited from starting their own businesses when they are in financial need. They are also not allowed to take private donations. Guess what that leads to? Corruption because parents can’t stand to watch their own children excluded from schools because they can’t afford to clear the fees in time for registration into another year to further their studies. Imagine the amounts of money these civil servants must pay for medical aid, groceries, a home, electricity, water, school fees, transport, books , clothes residence at University and in special cases pocket money for their children and those other children whom they are educating in High Schools and Primary schools , ensuring that relatives are eating back home and have essential resources and access to healthcare. Black tax is heavily in fashion in post-Apartheid South Africa. Whilst Mk veterans and politicians are taking their children whose fees are paid by the state to overseas trips and buy them fancy cars that even civil servants can’t afford.
Hence we need to have our own State Bank where all the payments will be made. This can also happen in any government or department due to tender giving to individuals in that department

NSFAS is a means for students to waste money too. On 3 occasions I was approached by Varsity students with the NSFAS card. They offered to pay for my groceries at PNP. I denied this request. On the 3rd occasion, I threatened to call the store manager and the student disappeared. If they are successful, they go to the liquor store and buy alcohol and cigarettes with the education funding. Please investigate because NSFAS and department of education ignored me.
The QUESTION we should ask is.. has this funding in all these decades actually DECREASED unemployment rates ? From that answer, is where we should work.
Please investigate why service providers who provide off-campus student accommodation and services to tens of thousands of students in the Eastern cape have not been paid? It's June, and most providers received less than 30% of their invoice to date!
has anyone investigated if the charactedrs are of south african origin ? it will help to understand problems initiated by foreign born vs south african born.
Are you'll able to advise on what happens with old students who still owes fees to nfsas? What is the process here since there is so much of corruption ongoing with nsfas? Also, I was trying to get ahold of nfsas for months, without any feedback. So, it's difficult to know what is the ongoing balance owed, since we only receive statements on request (and no one is responding to emails), yet I am sure interest is still being charged - which I feel is unfair.

They cannot even manage NSFAS but want us to believe they can manage NHI.
