The question isn't "would you take ispawners?" The question is "which do you take first, ispawners or cagerium?" The old recipe in terms of cost made Cagerium the obvious answer to that question. Might be a bit blurrier with the cheaper recipe. I took cagerium because I can sit a cage on top of a drawer and have it tied into a drawer controller and I'm done. That's it, it just sits there and works. I will get ispawners too, eventually.
@@jlpowell51 I think the really big thing has been the increase from 16 to 128 block range on the ispawner. You now don't even need to be near the spawner for it to work, meaning you can just stick it under your base with a damage trap and you're done
So it would be a good idea to get both. Could use cagerium for the passive mobs and boss mobs. Ispawners useful for mob farms underground. Since im sure we won't need a lot of resources from bosses early we can set them and forget them... in cagerium. Lol.
i unlocked i spawners before double checking the upgraded crafting recipe. maaaaan they basically doubled the cost making it take an echo pog and black chromatic in the corners. gonna be worth it tho
That gap is so much larger then i thought!!!! im glad i have Dark utilites but i use the Maim plate as then i can just punch for exp. but the player damage plate is way better just a bit expensive early.... still to unlock for me its 15 knowledge as i needed botany pots more then mob drops so far.

The difference is huge, but for solo play iSpawners is just way overkill, you're never gonna use even a fraction of the items it generates lol. Well worth for multiplayer though as you can technically meet all the mob drop needs for the entire server with just 1 spawner.
There's a few ways :) Normal hoppers will work for small quantities, stepping it up you can use ender hoppers from dark utilities and then my preferred setup is using modular routers ☺️

Quick question that I might’ve missed. How do you get the boss mobs into the binding plate? Oh, and what mobs can go into the terrarium? For instance, if I get a bee spawn egg and put it in there will it generate honeycomb? I’m guessing it wouldn’t work that way but I’m curious.😁
Boss mob eggs have a chance at being rolled when you roll a hostile mob egg ☺️ There's also a list of animals that can be added to the cages linked in the description ☺️

Zero mention of lag that iSpawners can potentially cause? Lategame people using them can REALLY impact server TPS. In comparison, for equivalent resources, yes Cagerium is slower but it also generates almost zero lag.
The lag doesn't actually come from the ispawners normally, it comes from not dealing with the mobs effectively. We ran a multi ispawner setup on the server with no issues at all 😊
@@Hellfirem4ge Fair enough... that's still lag that comes from usage of the mod though. On populated servers though, the difference between the two mods could end up making a significant impact. On smaller servers/single players I doubt it would make a difference. I'm on one of the official VH servers though, and over the last two resets, it basically got abandoned because of lag from OP farms. To be clear though, this was a really useful video! Sorry about the tone of my comment before. It gave me some really useful information :-)
Maybe someone has an idea how to manage the drawers with Elder Guardian and Witch cagerium? They have only 4 slots and these mobs drop like 8 diffent items... I was trying all configurations but the only way is to use chests... and they cannot go to the refined storage system :(
Was iSpawners fixed in the more recent patches? Currently running a server on patch 0.0.3h and no matter what I did, no mobs will spawn.. Might be time to switch versions..
By turning a mystery egg into a hostile mob egg and hope to get a boss egg in the roll.( boss eggs are rare) [see at time 5:14]. They start showing up after level 21 in living chest. You can also find them in bounties, markets in the vault, and loot crate's
@Hellfirem4ge oo could u make a modular router video, please? like how it works with VH in particular. I'm new to modpacks, VH is my first one, so every mod in the pack is new to me, if cannot make one, then it is fine.
Cagerium is just such a lame mod imo. Half the fun of mine craft is having to make fun or interesting farms, and any mod that can turn an entire farm into a single block that passively collects items just ruins the point.
Yeah I can definitely see that, but I guess an argument would be that it means you can focus on other things like building bases etc instead of having to build loads of mob farms

There's a few ways :)
Normal hoppers will work for small quantities, stepping it up you can use ender hoppers from dark utilities and then my preferred setup is using modular routers ☺️
Just farm mod packs and you can avoid having to collect cage dust or any of the expensive items
Loading chunkers is no longer an issue cause rhey added Chunky McChunkFace and there is another chunk loader from Weirding Gadgets.

I have to go on frequent mining runs for uranium, so ae2 chunk loader + cagerium is the only solution for me.

I've not come across that issue, it's been working perfectly fine for me 🙂 I would check in the official discord, there may be a known issue

This would be a lot more balanced if the cagerium key had multiple uses. Having to craft 4 of them to empty a cage is a little salty.
Tbh it should be just a one time craft with infinite uses imo

It will be from the dark utilities set but you can use basically any damaging thing such as modular routers/create etc

They don't really affect anything anymore. They used to limit how many mobs could spawn but that got changed a while ago :)

Modular routers with round robin upgrades should be able to fix that issue ☺️

There's an item in Botania called the Life Aggregator (I think, something like that) that may or may not be disabled
