- Fishing for a 10 pound bass!!! The dream that seems nearly impossible to grasp, Bamabass and I attempt a technique that I've never before tried... We bought 10 pounds of huge Louisiana crawfish not for a delicious cajun meal, but as an offering to some huge Alabama bass! In the past I've used small creek crawfish when fishing for smallies, but I have never seen specimens like these... Ranging in excess of 7 inches, with angry red pincers rivaling those of lobsters, we fished at a dock where we had only caught a single bass earlier that morning on a popper, but things were about to change.

i used live craw here in Minnesota, but i cut off the pinchers/claws before i hooked and casted. caught a 5-6 pound large mouth, sadly that was my pb

Plus, for the most part his channel is used to inform and teach anglers how to fish. Demonstrating techniques on private water doesn't help someone catch a fish on public water

I agree bass fishing with crawfish can be a blast...but before everyone goes out and buys a bag of Louisianan mud bugs for bait check the local regulations. In many places outside of their native range Red Swamp Crayfish are an invasive species and are pushing out native crayfish. Fish responsibly.

My Papaw kept 5 or 6 trot-lines in the Tensas river right behind his house my whole life. About 1/4 mile down the road in drainage ditches off rice fields we would go use a seine net and drag the ditch. One drag get some times almost two 48qt ice chests full. We baited trot lines my whole life with crawdaddys, down in Catahoula Parish! We would tight line, yo-yo, and throw out jugs with the rest! Its absolute paradise growing up and living in Louisiana!
