Its crazy how quiet the mirrorless cameras are.
Love your videos and your wisdom. Introduced several friends in other artistic fields that find a great deal of value in what you have to say as well. Keep it up, you're content is always top notch!

love this! next time could you show us your setup maybe with a phone selfie? wondering how you've mounted the X3 in a way that doesn't completely annoy and get in the way or leave it too exposed to hit things or people as you pass

Great video! Really thought you were aiming for the reflection in that girls mirror at that early crosswalk! This makes me want to visit Toyko, such an aesthetic place.

Getting a shot of Tokyo's vibes is always great ! Thanks for it 🙂
PoV and "walking videos" are always interesting, especially as it allow us to see the place and how you shot it.
Maybe for the PoV by it, you may share what attracted your eyes and how you compose it .. like some more insights about the shot you're taking ?

Pat - thanks for the awesome content. I’m binge watching all your videos and they are such a breath of fresh air when it comes to approaching “traditional” topics.
I was wondering if you have ever seen the works by Mateusz Urbanowicz, a Polish illustrator that did some really awesome watercolor series of Tokyo’s traditional stores. Especially his night-time series reminds me of some photos you took (like the one at min 3:23 of your 4 mistakes all beginners do).
Looking forward to your future content ✨

How did you have your video camera attached to you? It was so well coordinated with your movements. When you got your camera up to shoot stills, the video camera swung around in perfect time to show your camera and the scene you were shooting. It made for a very cool experience like we were there with you.

I had the opportunity to travel to Tokyo for a job as a photographers assistant and had a great experience, we got to shoot on the roof of the Fuji Tv building and in the Robot restaurant...also stayed in the best hotel I've ever stayed in in the banking district, would love to get back and do some more exploring and bouldering

  • @RaC09

Helpful one. Curious to know :
    1. Did 85 and 1.4 used for most tight shots in low lights : was it intentional not to get close with subjects and large frames?
2 . If not , would you use 50 mm or 35 mm GM ?

Good video. I love Tokyo, It’s so photogenic. I feel like the 85mm is kind of no mans land for street. With it you are neither up close and intimate with the subject like with a 24, 35 or even a 50, nor are you able to really snipe effectively because it’s too short. I get the respectful distance though. In your face street isn’t 100% acceptable in Japan.

Nice to see some POV videos, lovely shots, however, if I may give you one word of advice, would be to talk a bit more while you are shooting. I feel like we didn't get "inside" your head enough, it would be nice to know about your thought process a tad more... maybe it is just me, or maybe I have been spoiled by Evan Ranft's POV videos. Cheers!
