Maam I have a doubt in revaluation account. In school we were told that we only record increase or decrease in any liability or asset but then why do we record bad debts. When I asked this to my teacher he said that we record losses but not expenses in reval account. But in TS Grewal we are given 'Bank charges Rs200 for the year not recorded' and they were recorded in reval account even though they are expenses and not losses. Can you pls tell why we did so?
I think we record bad debts because asset is decreasing which is dukh ki bt for a company that's why it's recorded on the dr side .

.....it is written that bed debts is 12000 and also written to make provision 5%

Aur provision 1900 bne ga toh ye bii dr side ajayeega revaluation k

50000-12000-1900 =36100

Let me still try so in that question that I discussed (Case 3), if 15000 is subscriptions due for the year ended then straight 15000 will be added in the subscription on the income side and in Balance sheet, we will show both the subscriptions due, 8000 for the previous year and 15000 for this year.

Mam there are some adjustment for bad debts and provision for doubtful debt I have doubt
1. A debtor whose dues of rs 3000 were written off as bad debt paid rs 2000 in full settlement
Debtor 65000
Provision for doubtful debt 5000
2. All debtors are considered as good and therefore the provision for doubtful debt to be written back
3. Dinesh an old customer whose account was written off as bad in the previous year paid rs 10000 which is not included in the above stated debtors
4. Rs 20000 of debtors are bad and a provision of 5% was to be created for doubtful debts
