Maybe it got burned because she added the maple syrup at the beginning? I always add it at the very end, or it gets burnt or at least there’s too much caramelization. I usually also make them in a sauté pan, cut side down first until it is dark golden brown. When it is nicely caramelized and tender as well, I add a little maple syrup (or Sukrin syrup, Maple), then finish it off with a little salt & pepper. YUM! Great side, but also a super dish by itself, e.g topped with (vegan) bacon and some yummy artisan bread on the side... 😋
I love brussel sprouts. I fry chopped bacon and when it is crispy I place 3 cups of shredded sprout and place the lid and take the pan of the heat and serve 3 minutes later.
What happened to the rest of the story? We didn't get to see the finished product. :( From one Italian to another, we never waste anything. I do that all the time with my brussels sprouts. However, the heating in salt water is a good trick. Loved the colander/draining tray. Can you tell us where you got it.
Hello, .., Do you know an easy way to peeL & chop a raw TURNIP ? We like to stew them, drain to leave some water behind, mash roughly. Add butter, sugar to taste, pepper. Dash of vinegar to taste. Also------- this 2nd suggestion is g00d. Cook one TURNIP til tender, mash it well after draining, & add to your basic homemade "Potatoe SOUP" recipe ! YuM♡
