Bro my one my relatives completed his b.tech as a eee student but now he is working as a software engineering and the reason y most of the students prefer cse is because they work on coding in last 3 years where as other group students should separately spare some time for coding and other stuff need to be a software engineering only thing is u should have interest and passion and work hard for it only depends on us
Yes.. whatever he said is absolutely correct.. there're lot of myths and misconceptions goes around ECE branch till now.. he cleared most of them.. but I can say one thing.. every branch/department has its own beauty and its own importance.. to be frank if you really focus on subjects in BTech really you'll gain a lot of knowledge.. with a good guidence, enough research and hands-on practice you can do wonders.. ECE is a excellent core department.. now a days everything is in online.. but it's your part what to choose.. don't try to finish the task and leave.. try to work on it and learn.. that's how you'll know the things.. all that you have to do is to just explore.. research.. design.. build.. test.. finish.. repeat..

There are some areas, where only ECE students can work, like VLSI and Wireless Communications. Lot of advancements are going on nowadays in Artificial Intelligence. To handle with such huge data and high speed softwares definitely compatible hardware is required. Without advancement of hardware there will not be advancements in software too. Such advancements in hardware can be with VLSI only, which only ECE graduate can do. Every stream has it's own opportunities.
