Mahendra Nareda Saab, Your comment has come to my notice only today and therefore, this belated response. Very well-said! As a matter of fact, music is universal in its appeal! It has no boundary, barrier, language, race, or religion! Better, we should not try to confine our music and musicians within artificial barriers or boundaries! Music is far above all sorts of meanness and narrow-mindedness! To be very frank, music has got the potentials of unifying Mandir, Masjid, Church, or Gurudwara or for that matter, any other religion! Music disseminates the message of love and compassion ! GOD, 'THE MERCIFUL', also communicates with his MINIONS through the language of love and compassion alone! Propriety demands that one should not try to paint music with the political or religious colours! In fact, a true connoisseur of music always steer clear of political or religious controversies! Let all of us endeavour to enjoy music as it is, enrich our lives with its spiritual and aesthetic values and try to be good humanbeing which is so precious to GOD! -- Amarendra Borah, Former Commissioner and Secretary, Finance Department, Govt Of Assam (India).
The accompanying instruments being traditional is an additional bonus. I hate a gazal being accompanied by keyboards and a guitar etc. This is simply heavenly.

Mr Sharma, Mr Hariharan’s pronunciation is not correct for this song and most of his Urdu ghazals. No doubt, he is one of the foremost singers of the subcontinent, but Urdu Kafi, ghazals etc need this pronunciations to correct to begin with... If you listen to Mehdi Hassan’s original version, you’ll know what I’m talking about.
Sharmaji, you are the beholder. You clearly like the way he sang this song. All I can say is when a genre of music that is purely North Indian, with the best efforts this can be heard as not exactly inherent under these circumstances. Maybe I’m too much of a puritan when it comes to genres like ghazal, Kafi etc.

What I do with the warmth of heart
What I do with my burning soul
Where is my excitement of love
And where is my simplicity
What I say about your attractiveness
What I do with my eyes on you
No sorrows there in my heart
When we meet at night time
Yes everything I admit but
What I do with the fear of dawn
When I was in a bad Situation
You didn't noticed that time
You did feel it after I left
What I do with that feelings now

Hariharan Ji! A Suggestion for you.. An Ass can never be a Horse! Why do you try to copy an Maestro? You have plenty of compositions to express yourselves.
Gazal aapke bas ke nahin hai boss.

Ustad ghulam Mustafa or ustad Mehdi hasan ji ...hariharan ji k guru hai to hariharn jinse sikhe hai to phir kuchh na kuchh to asar hoga bhai...❤

Why not at least that much calibre to show that guts we should always appreciate honest try ....
Propriety demands that one should try to inculcate the habit of seeing the goodness in others as well ; instead of finding fault on every available opportunity, on the slightest of pretext, and at the drop of a hat ! It raises one's spiritual level by several notches up !
This is a joke!
Gias Ahmed you are!!
Gias Ahmed Which word he pronounced wrongly??
Sharmaji, you are the beholder. You clearly like the way he sang this song. All I can say is when a genre of music that is purely North Indian, with the best efforts this can be heard as not exactly inherent under these circumstances. Maybe I’m too much of a puritan when it comes to genres like ghazal, Kafi etc.
gias aapka Urdu knowledge adhura hai. ungli Baad me uthana. Muslim hone se Urdu nahee aatee. kai jagah to ghulam Ali bhi galat bol gaye hai. par wo jante nahee yeah kahna galat hai.
