  • Fionn Mac Cumhail's or to give them their correct title, The Shantemon Stone Row, is situated on the Northern side of Shantemon Hill, Drumalee, County Cavan, about 12 kilometres from Cavan Town on the road to Cootehill.
This was a site of worship over 4,000 years ago and the Finger Stones on Shantemon Mountain so called because the five standing stones resemble a gigantic hand and were believed to have great significance at the time.
The middle finger is over 6ft in height and weighs approximately four tons and the rest are in proportion. . Ireland's First Live Web TV content provider Drumlinmedia.com recorded this Video as part of a Tourism promotion feature for Ireland's First Live Web TV Channel www.cavantv.com

Was introduced to this beautiful, out of the world view and walk by the Happy Feet Walking Group in Cootehill. It was truly a wonderful experience. BUT why is the signage so bad. I would never have found it without the group. And several of the local people, who had lived in the area all their lives had also never visited before. Cavan Tourist Office needs to wake up. Cavan is a wonderful walking and/or strolling area so why no signs for the Stones on the R188?
