@@wyuj888jgszpokrrtuz He is preternaturally gifted. He is one of the greatest vocalists in rock and roll -- one of the best vocalists, period. This doesn't just come from having a very good voice and practicing. His talent is on a whole other level. Of course he's speaking through himself. My comment was not meant in a literal sense. As Schopenhauer believed, music was the purest of all art forms: "The inexpressible depth of all music, by virtue of which it floats past us as a paradise quite familiar and yet eternally remote, and is so easy to understand and yet so inexplicable, is due to the fact that it reproduces all the emotions of our innermost being, but entirely without reality and remote from its pain."
Wow!!! This brought back so many memories. I saw them twice on this tour. I was down there holding up Chris when he was crowd surfing. I knew it was amazing at the time, but when I look back, I envy my younger self because I wish I could be there again. This helps.
There are other Performances by Cornell that top this one . As amazing as this one is there are others where Cornell Manages to top himself . Beyond the Wheel from Toronto in 1993 is insane and it was released as a B side and later re released on the Superinkown 25th anniversary box set. Berkley in 94 and Sunrise Florida 94 are also standouts . The Europeon tour of 95 has Cornell in insanely strong Voice . He had a year Off touring to rest his voice after blowing out his voice at the end of the 94 N.A tour . In 95 he came back strong as ever . 93 to 95 was his peak . The 94 tour was grueling. They had an insane schedule . They had been touring for 8 mothhs by the time Chris voicec gave out . He came back strong as ever in 95 but touringj Schedule in 96/97 was again grueling and as the year went on hs voice got more and more worn down and tattered . Sadly the damage done in 96 seemed to be Permanent . Even November 96 had some Killer Cornell shows like Colorado Chicago Toronto and Fairfax . Sacramento from December is great too with a rare 1996 performance of Hands All Over where Cornell nails the vocals he also gives one of his best live Performances of Salves and Bulldozers ever . Why that version wasn't used on the live on I-5 album is a mystery . Instead they used the version from Oakland where his voice is cracking on the high notes and is struggling with pitch .

I love that they slowed it down just a tiny tiny bit more from the studio version. And if I’m not mistaken I think you can clearly hear on the 2 solos at the end that they’re heavier guitar solos (imo). But it low key makes the song just so heavy and muddy and it drags and forces you to head bang. Love both renditions of it! Chris is a god on vocals and Kim and the rest of the guys just SMASH!
