I accept he had something to run from but was Ireland really the first safe place he came to? Wouldn't he have been happier where they speak a similar language?
Under the current scheme applicants must apply for an employment permit from the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation under the Employment Permits Act 2003. The scheme also requires that they pay between €500 to €1,000 for a six- to 12-month employment permit. Asylum-seekers living in direct provision currently have a weekly allowance of €21.60, and can buy food using a recently-introduced points system. According to the rules, they must secure a job that pays a starting salary of at least €30,000 per year, and may not work in any of 60 different sectors, including in hospitality, food, healthcare, social work, childcare, marketing, administration, textiles, printing, housekeeping and construction.
Despite being very poor the Irish have been sending money and help to African peoples fo 200 years. We Irish are very much entitled to respect, your disrespectful attitude is the very reasons why foreign immigrants like yourself can never be welcomed.
He doesn't . He expects to be put up in the Hyatt Regency and live of the backs of the Irish tax payers. These ''type'' make me sick to the gut. I despise them.
If you have enough minerals in your balls then talk to Lockheed Martin or you Yankee Daddy to not offload old stock weapons around the world...which of course you can't gotta get that mcdonalds lol
I love his art, really , if he is a gifted artist he could be granted two years residential status, on condition that he is properly managed, gets the full market value for his work, and pays all of his costs.
Marvellous how the badly behaved immigrants are never mentioned in the Journal. We are being fed deception and propaganda. Most Non-European immigrants had a safe place in their region, but preferred to travel a huge distance to our cold and wet island.
He should go back to the first country he came to and seek asylum there as per the U.N. Rules. He should not be allowed to scrounge off the Irish tax payer.
Because Irish people are fed up paying for economic migrants when the country is broke and we have 10000 of our own homeless. Is that enough of a reason?
, well done and hope you make a good life for yourself here in Ireland and are treated respectfully at all times, back in 1950/60s thousands of Irish men and women were forced to emigrate and in many cases endured hostility and anti Irish sentiment.I hope that the people of Ireland will welcome warmly the emigrants now arriving here from other troubled countries.
Our hospitality is being greatly taken advantage of unfortunately. The majority of people coming to the country are men, not women and children. At a time when we can’t even house our own homeless it is hardly ideal or fair. I’m all for people of different cultures to live and prosper in Ireland but there seems to be a lot of immigrants coming to abuse our generous social welfare, a lot have no intention of working and are just looking for free handouts.
Did he fly directly from Sudan to Longford. Must have seen a Discover Longford ad on Sudan TV.
and all the perks that went with that
Arrive in Ireland everything free rent paid no need to work ring all you're friends and invite them over ,great country . Who's paying for all this
You are. At the expense of our health care.
Bit of a distance Sudan to Longford, just saying.
And his Irish was a bit flaky.
It takes two to make a thing go right. Ask Sweden how it’s working out for them.
Relentless propaganda
I accept he had something to run from but was Ireland really the first safe place he came to? Wouldn't he have been happier where they speak a similar language?

Wow, things seems hard for assylum seekers over there, why so?
Then why do they come here?
He came from such a similar culture. I wonder how the Irish will blame the British for this one?

You should hang your head in shame with a comment like that.
It will be a first time for sure we aren’t to blame 🙄

He should go back to the first country he came to and seek asylum there as per the U.N. Rules. He should not be allowed to scrounge off the Irish tax payer.
