We completed a challenging 10.5 km hike with a 900 meter elevation gain in 6 hours, including breaks, during a warm summer month. We started at Wadi Naqab and took the rarely hiked Wadi SamPat trail near the Naqab Dam. The trail led us to Baqal village, where we encountered mild bouldering and beautiful fig trees. From Baqal, we hiked towards Talah village, passing interesting modern stone houses, including one with its own helipad. On our way back, we chose a different trail, hiking down from Baqal to Wadi Naqab through a well-known washed-out offroad path. It was a memorable and varied hiking experience.
