I’m 73 and my wife is 64. Ten years ago we built our house on a mountain in Maine, by ourselves, no contractors. Was We’ve been where you are and we feel your pain and also your joy. We now grow almost all of our own vegetables, our house is solar and wood heated and we love it. Keep pushing on, you’ll make it and the journey will be worth it! This is a great video and from a 63 year old guy, away from my family since Jan 23 and MAY NOT see them until next year... it’s so delightful to see young adults stop and appreciate all of the things they have. COVID... singapore won’t let me back in and if I was allowed, 2 weeks quarantined in a facility ... I only get 8 days off per month in a row... then when I get back to Korea (where I’m based) another 2 weeks quarantined ...without pay.

I was thinking while that may be true, if not for Kensie and Spencer I would not be able to build my container home without endless costly mistakes and frustrations, and so.......... I, therefore, send this well-deserved couple my thanks and gratitude for being so selfless each and every step of the way........ rather things were done correctly the first time or if they had to be rectified they all amount to priceless information and lessons you simply cannot buy....... It's much more than the fact this amazing couple has brought so much selflessly to the table to share....... it is the fun and enjoyable manner in which it is done.....I always come away from each week's videos feeling like "home" if that makes sense? Dianne Foster call me. I’m even older than you are. We can build a 2 bedroom one for you and one for me. I’ve been in the trades for over 40 years. I would have done this way quicker and differently. I’m questioning why they tore down the post and piers they had. The could have use that , poured a foundation a long with those piers and never had to tear all of that done work done. Just added to it!!!!

I know, McKenzie had me rethinking my petty complaints. I could really feel her pain and gratitude. And how gutsy is Spencer? That was a seriously difficult and dangerous job he did. I was holding my breath when those beams were coming out. Then you look at little Beau and all is right with the world again.

Good work guys! A small safety tip: Recommend using gloves when working with concrete. The cadmium in cement irritates skin. This is a binary thing. You may have absolutely no symptoms, but when the reaction kicks in, it takes often more than a year to get rid of it. Makes your skin very dry, thin and basically unusable. Love!
You guys better listen to what he just said....I used to watch you faithfully and wondered why either one of you never wore gloves...I wear gloves just to put my trash can at the curb.... for anything I do on the outside....can't stand my hands dirty....
Tim Oja please you two listen ?? I am one that didn’t and had reactions and the skin peeled to bone in 8 fingers ? The physicians could not detect what was happening then I finally told them What I did and couple weeks later skin started itching and flaking then literally peeled in layers ?? PAINFUL, PAINFUL, no joke ,,,, I have suffered now over 18 long Painful Months, They we’re looking to amputate two of them, by time I came back for follow up , I did some research and found medi manuka Honey made in New Zealand??? I saved losing My two fingers??? It’s now this crisis and I am so thankful for the honey I still have all ten fingers and the last worst one is just about healed??? Maybe a month from now ?? So please you two you have that beautiful baby girl that needs you in her life and I can promise you if your fingers get like mind did you will have to hire out someone to finish the job and too take care of baby girl and you too ??? As an architect, I wish people took the time to do their plans before starting construction. It's so hard for them to understand just how much trouble they are saving themselves by doing this. My advice is for you to make sure there aren't other changes you want to make. Having said that, you guys are unbelievable. I really admire you.

Rachel Whitehead you do know why that “Rat Snake” is so big don’t you???? They stay healthy and that big because they Eat Rats!!!! That one obviously eats a lot of Rats. Leave him be !!!!! I would rather have him running around than 1 tenth the Rats he’s eaten running around!!! Although the house isn’t that great when it comes to being snake proofed. There are way to many holes in the floor of their home !!!!!

I put mine foldable 20ft container house on top of other contaner. Then, 5 years later when Brexit came unavvoidable. I folded house container, put furniture, bike, all my stuff in bottom container and put it on the truck from my new job and drove it to Europe. Within 3 days I got same house in new place. This is how you relocating a house

We both prated about it and we were blessed beyond anything we could expect. It took us three years to complete our home, but we are mortgage free to this day. Y'all are doing GREAT and the hard work and your sacrifice will pay off. I look forward to your progress every week and seeing the great work. Like I said keep smiling

Rat snakes actually tame down pretty quickly. Once they figure out you don’t want to harm them, usually they become fairly docile. It’s what makes them such good pets.

I’m questioning why they tore down the post and piers they had. The could have use that , poured a foundation a long with those piers and never had to tear all of that done work done. Just added to it!!!!

The old porch footers would be perfect base for extending the fence into the pond. Sink them in place and they aren’t going anywhere.
Looks like you have some nice supports for the fence extension into the pond in those concrete piers.
I do not think it is my place to suggest how they manage their lives. I am sure they will make the correct calls as they go through the process of raising children. I am enjoying watching them build a very unique home and doing a very good job too.
I’ve followed you two now three from the beginning. It’s amazing that you guys have done this by yourselves. Pulled up roots came halfway across the country with no experience in construction or rural life. You guys are doing great. Good work guys! A small safety tip: Recommend using gloves when working with concrete. The cadmium in cement irritates skin. This is a binary thing. You may have absolutely no symptoms, but when the reaction kicks in, it takes often more than a year to get rid of it. Makes your skin very dry, thin and basically unusable. Love!
You guys better listen to what he just said....I used to watch you faithfully and wondered why either one of you never wore gloves...I wear gloves just to put my trash can at the curb.... for anything I do on the outside....can't stand my hands dirty....

The physicians could not detect what was happening then I finally told them What I did and couple weeks later skin started itching and flaking then literally peeled in layers ?? PAINFUL, PAINFUL, no joke ,,,, I have suffered now over 18 long Painful Months, They we’re looking to amputate two of them, by time I came back for follow up , I did some research and found medi manuka Honey made in New Zealand??? I saved losing My two fingers??? It’s now this crisis and I am so thankful for the honey I still have all ten fingers and the last worst one is just about healed??? Maybe a month from now ?? So please you two you have that beautiful baby girl that needs you in her life and I can promise you if your fingers get like mind did you will have to hire out someone to finish the job and too take care of baby girl and you too ??? As an architect, I wish people took the time to do their plans before starting construction. It's so hard for them to understand just how much trouble they are saving themselves by doing this. My advice is for you to make sure there aren't other changes you want to make. Having said that, you guys are unbelievable. I really admire you.

I put mine foldable 20ft container house on top of other contaner. Then, 5 years later when Brexit came unavvoidable. I folded house container, put furniture, bike, all my stuff in bottom container and put it on the truck from my new job and drove it to Europe. Within 3 days I got same house in new place. This is how you relocating a house

We both prated about it and we were blessed beyond anything we could expect. It took us three years to complete our home, but we are mortgage free to this day.
