Truly only one of the few scenes in this movie that made me invested for a little
You take a short cut, you get cut short! Life lesson learned, and baby girl learned it the hard way.
Loved this scene so much. Shows how cunning and smart she is, but also her impatience and the fact that she is still a child and not yet ready. And the way Hippolyta tries to comfort her daughter is so sweet and amazing. But the best part is Hans Zimmer's score. So amazing and I love it.
One thing I can’t figure out is how Antiope knew that Diana cheated. It’s not like the island had security cameras or anything. There’s way she could’ve seen her do that
@@superjackster0165 I think it was the fact the final colored smoke did not go off while everyone else's did. And that she arrived back at the arena before the others Amazons did. So Antiope could have been thinking that Diana could have been in last place if not second. I could wrong so don't mind me.
@@KellytheHuman Still, how did she immediately know the explanation was that Diana cheated? For all she knew, Diana could've fired her arrow too early and accidently missed the target

@@superjackster0165 Blue colour flag belongs to Diana in the competition shows the signal that she missed or skipped one target with her bow and arrow shot because that flag is one step lower than other competitors. Not only Antiope or Hippolyta, everybody, all the women in the Amazons will get an impression that Diana cheated to win it. Missing a target is considered as loss as it is not fulfilling the rules and regulations of the competition. Diana cannot proceed to the arena if she misses. She has to stop or halt to hit the target properly and move without that it will be considered as cheating or shortcut way to win.

Love the movie, but the beginning has loopholes with how Diana was not supposed to be trained in the open, and was trained by her aunt secretly for a time into her teens
Indeed, just one of many things in this movie that shows how Patty completely lost the plot with WW84! I hope she’s learnt her lesson and doesn’t botch up WW3 too! If Zaslav doesn’t end up canceling it that is.
Training for thier olympics is different than training for battle, Hippolyta no doubt would have encouraged this kind of training.
If only the rest of the movie remained consistent like this 😭😭😭😭😭

This kids physics seem off. I know she has powers but it does still look strange

I loved this scene, but what I don't understand is, in the first movie, Hippolyta didn't let her daughter train. So Antiope had to train her in secret, but here she is competing openly and Hippolyta isn't doing anything to stop her. And also she isn't wondering, how she was able to perform so well.
My guess is that Hippolyta knew that if Diana was going to refuse to listen to her and train she might as well train her to the point that she won't have to worry about her safety anymore.
Train in athletics is different than train for war

Yes, she was the perfect choice for the part. It’s a shame how everything went down. I still think she’s a stunningly beautiful woman…if only on the outside apparently.
Antiope should've been with her niece to show the site without hurting her feelings or frustrating her which is a good theory and thought of next time that should've bene better for Diana.

Why is Diana a child in this flashback? In the first movie, her mother didn’t know that she was doing all this stuff until she was a teenager. Did nobody on the production crew notice that they had used the wrong actress for this flashback?

This opening sequence was the only really good part of this entire disaster of a movie unfortunately. Still, I really want to see a WW3 (with another director that isn’t Patty, but that’s likely not going to happen 🤷♂️) which I truly hope will be good! A movie to do the character justice and just be a compelling story.
This was actually my least favorite part of the movie. It goes on for too long and has literally zero relevance to the rest of the film
