Shaunak Karambelkar it's better to use a mtb if you are a beginner. Braking or grabbing the hoods or drops is hard compared to the flat handbar in mtbs in case of emergency also potholes are pretty hard to avoid in a road bike.

My tip is to shift the weight to the rear of the saddle at a minimum speed of 20 km/h, lighten the front wheels, and grab the front of the saddle to secure steering and driving torque.
