  • We are finally installing the deck boards on this inlay! We did a ton of planning in the deck framing stage to ensure this goes well, but we'll see if everything works out as planned once we start installing the deck boards. We are installing all of the Deckorators composite decking with a few different hidden fastener options.

      @@thomaslhm1650 I'm pretty sure they're using a system that includes color match screws and plugs. I'd guess something like TrapEase, FastenMaster, or if Deckorators makes something since that's the composite they use.

    I have one major complaint about this video.........it took too long for this update to happen. I think I checked the channel two or three times a day waiting for this update. Great work!!! You’ve convinced me to switch to deckorators on all of my decks

    Killing it brother , old mate loves his track saw 🤣 can’t beat the results using a track..... I love how he takes credit for such a nice cut but in reality anyone can cut like that with a track saw haha , you marked one line and he’s like “I’ll cut that” you still had shit loads to mark out 🤣 he’d give me crazy anxiety that fella ..... but your work is insane , not too many companies would be pumping out this kinda work .... I bet you’re booked out for a fair while 🤙

      For sure, it’s all about the team! He’s got loads of experience, but I ended up doing most of the inlay while he and another guy tied up all the roof trim and siding so he was coming into that portion of it blind

    Awsome work. I found for fine snap lines to use braided fishing line 20lb test and you'll get a pencil fine line.

    The time that it took to do this shows without a doubt...that u and ur crew are the real deal. I've done some simple inlays but im not sure I would take on such an impressive inlay. Awsome work and prep,prep,prep is the key. Beautiful work.

    No template on the inlay , make a template cut some Luan up / corrugated plastic and hot glue it , cut to it ... details impress me more with details

    Possibly a cardboard template of the design before setting the boards on top. May have saved you some headache.

    just a quick question
    as u cut out that pattern, didn't u cut into the ice shield as well?

      You have to be careful to set the blade just deep enough to almost cut the board but not deep enough to cut the flashing. Especially when using ice shield if you hit the flashing it will instantly gum up the blade and ruin the blade

      enhance will expand when it gets hot so leave a gap when installing it this time of year

    We set up the carpet drying fans outside to cool off the work space. Makes a huge difference when working in the heat.

      I don’t think anyone here is hating lol, you could potentially do that, but I think it would be harder to cut each of the field boards individually and have them all line up oerfectly
