When you're not from the Big 3 (or is it Big 4 now?) you have to work twice as hard and fight for every single success especially since they refuse to conform to mainstream Kpop. It took them 8yrs including going through a disbandment and years and years of disappointment.

When Handong gave her speech in Chinese, I couldn't control my tears 😭. She was preparing it for 4 years and finally she was able to say it.
Yoohyeon may not know this, but when she told us InSomnias that ShowChamp writers and producers are also crying in happiness for Dreamcatcher, she basically endeared ShowChamp to InSomnias for life

seeing strong and persistent people cry after reaching that goal they have long wish to achieve just tug your heartstrings...I didn't cry but damn this big lump in my throat just won't ease. Honestly I watched it live and first I didnt know what was going on cause I never watched Show Champion so I thought maybe they just Dreamcatchers Maison as a special replay or something. Then the announcers said something about Dreamcatcher. They said their good byes and this is when it hit me. Dreamcatcher stepped on the stage.
And a 5 year Somnie completely broke down. I couldnt believe it, I was so so so happy for them.

I've seen a lot of group wins but DC hit different. They have been an underdog for so many years. It's hard when you're not part of the Big 3 (or is it Big 4 now?). OK, so now we have two new goals for the group:
1) Get them win #2 so that they can enjoy doing the encore performance with their usual chaos energy instead of having to try to sing while crying (especially poor Yoohyeon 😂)
2) Get them another win once the plague has finally gone away and the music shows are back to normal, with a full live audience and all the artists on stage for the winner announcement. They deserve to get the full, perfect music show winner experience, LET'S GOOOO

@@electrictroy2010 It's easy to not understand if you're new to the Kpop "system", but winning music shows is everything. It affects what they get invited to, how much prestige they have, how the Korean fan base views them, if they'll have any chance at getting year end awards, even whether they're considered rookies or not... Basically the most important division between groups is "win or no win", perhaps even more important than big agency or small agency or maybe even girl group or boy group. Groups have been disbanded even if they were doing ok in sales just because of no win. It obviously doesn't matter in the slightest for us international fans, but we sadly do not control the Kpop industry completely and never will even if we outnumber Korean fans 100-1. So we have to care about even if we'd rather not because it affects our groups' success so hugely.

Whenever I see jiu, I can't hold back my tears, as the oldest and as a leader, jiu is the first person to be in charge, it must be hard for her, but she handles it very well and i’m so proud of her. Jiu's birthday is on May 17 1994 and SuA's is August 10th 1994, Siyeon is Oct 1st 1995, Handong's is Mar 26th 1996, Yoohyeon Jan 7th 1997, then Dami's is Mar 7th 1997 and lastly, Gahyeon's is February 3rd 1999. Before correcting someone, make sure you have the correct facts. You correcting the OP was unnecessary, because they were already correct. Now that I think of it, Show Champion did send them food and all of that before the stage. Usually they send cakes and that on members' birthdays, but I don't think it's that common unless it's in celebration for something. DC staff seriously kept their mouths closed with the biggest secret ever! I wouldn't have been able to do that. But it really shows how low all of our expectations and enthusiasm was, that even DC thought they'd lost. Also, it's not a live program right, so I wonder how many hours ago the members and company found out and recorded it, and then had to keep it secret from us before it aired.
I think the decorated waiting room was because we also won another poll on Idol Champ which consisted of decorating the room (and give them food yk) for the winner of the poll. We won that one with a huge 80% if I'm not wrong.

It’s so tiring when you don’t live in Korea, and it feels like your vote isn’t gonna count for anything. But wow we all really did it!
You know what’s crazy is that after all the terrible ads and constant streaming, MAISON STILL SLAPS!

This felt like more than a win. This felt like victory after years of war against all odds, bad luck, brand biases, sketchy point systems and injustice. This felt like for one moment everything in world was going as it should.

I did get the feeling that they spoke with more enthusiasm about "1st win" in the earlier days... but after so much disappointment, it's like they just learned to accept it and stopped letting themselves care as much. I've been a CLC ult since the Black Dress days and I can't explain how SATISFYING and emotional it is when you get a 1st win after SOOOO many years, nobody knows why but it just feels like an accomplishment even for us fans. Imo this for me is another big moment for kpop history these girl worked hard to get where they are and the passion they have for their craft. These girls deserved this it was way over due
I am 57yo. I first starting listening to KPop in 2012 (4Minute's "Volume
Up"). I can't say I've been a fan of these young ladies since their
Minx days, but really became a huge fan shortIy after their debut as DC.
I have had 2 surgeries within the past couple of years (nothing
serious, but required general anesthesia). At the hospital at which I
have had the surgeries, the staff asks if there is any music you want
played. On both occasions I said Dreamcatcher ("Deja Vu" and "Scream").
I figured if something goes wrong, I may as well go out hearing
something I really enjoy. First and foremost, this win makes me so
happy for these ladies. Secondly, it makes me happy for all those other
fans who love these ladies as much or more than I do I wouldn't think
any more or less of them if they never won a music show, but I know this
is something they have wanted for so long, that it makes me
unbelievably happy for them. And to know that they credit their fans,
over and above their hard work and courage in a market that in the past
has not really appreciated them, makes it all the better! Although it
is one comeback after Handong's return, I am so happy she was part of
this. It would have been kind of a hollow victory without her.
as I expected..all people was crying.. even the staff of the show and the producers... they all were know how difficult our DC's struggle got their 1st win... I'm so thankful... what a beautiful moment...💖💖💖💖
마치 덫 에 걸린듯 버거웠었는데 그래도 버텨준 드림캐쳐 고마웠고 그리고 그걸 지켜본 팬들 너무 고마웠음 다들 울었을거야 ㅠㅠ 드림캐쳐 너무 꾸준히 좋은 음악 들려줬는데 계속 어린 후배 그룹들에게도 1위 주고 할때 또 은근 아쉬워했지~ 암튼 이제 시작이고 자주 1위도 해보고 기뻐보자~
The way they hadn’t stopped crying all the way until the vlive rlly says dat they have been waiting for this all their life and now they got it it seems like a dream come true. I'm crying watching this again , but now I can actually understand what they're saying and that makes me so much more emotional. Everyone worked so hard, they deserve this win.
