Snyder: 'Normally when i would agree to meet Pesci at a restaurant somewhere in the city... i knew i'd have better than a 90% chance of coming back alive....but when he said, 'Meet me couple hundred yards down the road in the Bronx'............. .............. I gave myself 50/50.
Robert De Niro, Martin Scorsese, Joe Pesci… the beginning of the masterpieces this trio would be creating in film. I love learning little bits and pieces that help to connect the dots in the stories of their acting careers. Thank you for sharing.
The fact that Pesci even said “No” at first. I mean that takes a lot of guts to say no to an offer like that but he stood to his ground, they respected him and still believed he was the right man for the part.
We have to thank Deniro very much for letting his haughtiness go and not hanging up at that moment. I can’t imagine a world with goodfellas without Pesci in it.
There's a great clip with Helen Mirren, she says, "when you have a chance at a rock'n'roll moment, you better take it," when she describes her regret for not letting Keith Moon of The Who come on stage with her one night.
Mikey he stole every scene in all 3 movies & everything other movie he did also from Cousin Vinny to lethal weapon 2 & everything in between… a true legend!!
When I think of his role in Good Fellas. I would not be messing around with a guitar toting Joe Pesci. My scenario The wise guy patron at the table Joe is serenading says to Joe " are you George Harrison, because your guitar is making me weep"I can just hear Joe saying " you think this is amusing, I'm here to amuse you"? Wham, wraps the guitar around the schmuck's head, guitar strings and all ,making sounds guitars are not supposed to make. And everbody around neighboring table chuckles, when Bob De Niro says to the motionless heap on the floor " well you did insult him, just a bit" and then De Niro turns to Joe and with disgust says " you got the part but now your digging the frikkin hole". As Joe with tears in his eyes is apologetically saying to his boss "I didn't mean to get the spaghetti sauce on your carpet". Then Joe with excitement exclaims " I'm moving to Hollywood".
Mr. Pesci you had a good boss tell you to go read he was a good man in the fact that he wasn't denying you to get ahead good boss is like that are hard to come by.
Who the fcuk is Bob DeNiro? I keep hesring actors refer themselves with these pal names.....Jimmy Caan, Bob Duvall, who the hell are these people, stop prank calling me!!!
“Ah, I remember it well”. The restaurant was one of the best at that time!!
I miss Tom Snyder. I enjoyed the way he interviewed guests and he had a great sense of humor.

Admirable! His every role from tough to humble is very telling of the man.
Let's not forget Mr. Pesci got his 1st Academy Award nomination for "Raging Bull". A great actor.
JOE PESCI IS A "TRUE-ICON"❗

Great interviewer
The best!
Tom Snyder knew how to interview people...even friggin' big shots like Joe Pesci!
Tom was wonderful to watch, you never knew if the guest would hate him or love him.
@@id10t98 So true.
Great Story- Pesci is one of my favorite actors.
Joe’s one of my favorite actors.
Apparently, Joe started to giving up acting since the late 70s. Great interview!
Damn, this guys been 64 years old for like 30 years.
A master conversationalist
Wow! Very intelligent guy and great actor.
We have to thank Deniro very much for letting his haughtiness go and not hanging up at that moment. I can’t imagine a world with goodfellas without Pesci in it.
I thought he was going to say "you think I'm funny?" 0:48
I know right
How smart were DeNiro and Scorsese to appreciate how good Pesci could be....
At your left 👈🏻 we're in the 70's
At your right 👉🏻 we're in the 2000's,,,
True.... the string hurts a lot
Joe one hellve Actor Thank You ❤️🙏
Thank for watching.
Great story
The way he describes the call, I can hear exactly how DeNiro was talking.
Basically luck is like a ball thrown at you. Either you catch it and score or you don't.

I grew up watching Pesci and @0:48 I tensed up...
THANK GOD...Joe did not give up acting Raging BUll, Good Felllas and Casino would not even come close to being the all time greats they are

He has his mother’s mannerisms.
imagine if that meeting had not happened...we never would've seen pesci in the lethal weapon series.
When u need stuff done u pray to joe pesci
All I can hear is Pesci saying "Ok-Ok-Ok"
like brian epstein seeing the beatles at the cavern
Joe Pesci stole every scene he and Deniro ever did. Truly a great actor and he's an Aquarius. We're just better than you 😊
If I bumped into him or hulk hogan I would be more fearful of the backlash from joe pesci
That's funny! Like how?
Charlie M give the name Charlie M
Tom's been dead for 15 years, he was born the same year as my next door neighbor............His Daughter is making a documentary called "Tom Who"
Pesci singing & playing a guitar & fights breaking out!! Im funny how?? How am I funny? Im here to amuse you… I’m a clown!!
So Joe Pesci ows his fame and fortune to Robert De Niro… and he almost blew it.
Who the fcuk is Bob DeNiro? I keep hesring actors refer themselves with these pal names.....Jimmy Caan, Bob Duvall, who the hell are these people, stop prank calling me!!!
In the Jersey Boys they make Pesci out to be a bumbling wannabe. Funny how he could buy and sell every one of the Four Seasons now.
