An excellent demo and discussion. I prefer the maple fretboard and v-shaped neck of the 57 and the pickups have a great expressive clarity. It would be more contrasted with my other strats as something different (the seafoam green looks great too). But really, I will probably go with the 61 because of the more usable dynamic range of the pickups. That fiesta red looks really good, but it does remind me of creepy radioactive dishes from the time; I'd probably pick that one anyway. Thanks for the additional info.
I think if you are going to shoot out two strats you have to compare neck pu to neck pu, bridge pu to bridge pu, etc. Going thru all three pickups then switching guitars does not make for a good direct comparison.
You can’t compare pickups if it isn’t the same guitar. With a strat the maple neck/fretboard is just going to sound different than the rosewood fretboard. These pickups sound different but you can’t get a good judgement using 2 different fretboard woods.
Dam I’m stuck lol, I use to have a squier CV 50s in same colour way, so I’m looking to buy the 60s, for a different feel and experience, but I really loved my cv too the maple neck was just so good in my opinion. With saying that how would you describe the feel of the 57 fretboard to the rosewood. And also Which guitar captured your heart the most! Great video by the way keep it up lads
In some hands the maple board on th 57 will feel 'sticky' under the fingers, but if you are used to the CV 50s you may be ok. Out of the two on the day, the 57 just nudged in front. However if you are looking to compliment rather than replace your guitar, the 60s would be my choice. PM
haben leider nur den Namen... sind aber bei weitem nicht mit den Orginalen vergleichbar selbst mit gegen die Pro s.. 7 Jahre zuvor... klingen sie schlechter 😏...
Historically bad time to buy a Fender. This period of guitars is coming out of a period that had record sales (Covid). They’ve now transitioned to lower quality cost cutting guitars at higher prices, and laid off staff etc to compensate for not making what they were a few years ago. Wait 3-5 years. At that point, they will have “win back” customers and that period will be historically great guitars.
If you’ve never played a pure vintage AVRI from 2012-17, you’d have no idea how good they were at one point for the money. I played a ‘61 the other day, nice guitar but nowhere near my ‘65 AVRI in terms of feel.
@@Joe_Andrus The AVRI series was the best value I have seen in my lifetime, granted I'm only 38. Absolute steals and fantastic guitars... I have 2 telecasters from that era.
Guitars must be heard with clean sounds, without overdrive or distortion otherwise your videos, not only yours but all those fixated with effects, are useless
It's really great to see a demo with subtle, nuanced playing as opposed to constant shredding 👏👏👍👍
Thanks Ed! Ben is very good at pulling the best out of a guitar. Maybe we will get a vid of him going full shred one day!
What a pleasure, great playing skills!
I played on the 57 in a store today. Blowned away!
In my opinion the '57 is better
Ahhhh... I usually gravitate towards 60s strats, but on this occasion, I much prefer the sound of the 57
57 has the nice gritty sparkle.
Good way to describe it!

The fundamental note is so much clearer in the 50s, I prefer it. The 60s is good too, different indeed. 50s for me 😊
Try the 73 I looooooooove it! Just like I remember as a kid in the 80’s its like picking up an old friend.
We have had the 73s in and they are fantastic!
Very good video. the guy on the left is very humble

We will keep that in mind for future videos. PM

A further choice is the Ash body on some of the ‘57 Strats.

Can you test drive a Cornell Romany please? Your playing style lets us have a better idea of what it sounds like...
Hi there. We don't stock Cornell I'm afraid and we don't have access to one. Sorry! PM
Nice pieces of wood, magnets, plastic, and steel. The value is always in the eye if the beholder other than that...get hyped marketing in action.
3:35 is this a reference to that pedal show haha
That Pedal Chord.
Wonderful playing, all sounds i was hearing for. 60 fatter right. 57 for me
Thanks! PM
I love a maple V neck. Are the fretboard edges rolled or fairly sharp on the ‘57?
They don’t describe them as rolled, but they are not sharp that’s for sure. Super comfy necks. PM me
@@ProjectMusicSW thanks!
They are quite rolled , auper comfy @@tdc_2021

I got an AVII 61 Strat last year and it’s absolutely perfect.
3-5 years??? One could be dead by then. Life is too short to go around waiting years for some potential of marginal improvement.
