Bought this recently. I got it because it look like it handles more like a gladius than the gladius. The gladius looks like it handles more like a longsword. I plan on making some experimental grips for mine. I also want to polish the blade into a nice mirror finish. I'm still coming to terms with how springy spring steel actually is.
I have the Gladius model purchased somewhere, else the edges on these are horrible I've been trying to put a good edge on mine but have small whetstones thinking of getting rid of it
may have been a bad quench :( . Katana version honed quickly with Arkansas soft stone for me, and retained it after initial test of thick brush cutting (1/2" softwood with ease)
This and that tactical “Gladius” are pretty sweet! Wonder if Angus Trim might consider remaking the zombie slayer Longsword/Bastard Sword for the APOC line. Or at least iirc he made that for Valiant Armory. It’s in ways so much like this sword in design concept.
@@CrispyChicken38 Seems my comment has aged well!! Apoc has a “Survival Longsword” now!! So much like the Valiant Armory Zombie Slayer but somewhat less expensive! Been eyeing it ever since I found out about it from a recent post from Kult of Athena’s facebook page!
It handles horribly. There is way too much mass at the grip. The ancients designed weapons the way they did for a reason. These "modern" blades are wallhangers. In a real fight, you'd be killed.
I cringe when you do those cuts. You swing a sword like it's a Louisville slugger.....like a future amputee. Try placing the other foot forward, and keep your leg out of the sword arc during the cut. Elementary stuff.
there is a lot of effort not to say simple things like edge hardness and overall quality. looks like selling is everything. sad for a site like kult of athena
Sword buyers guide has a great article about these swords. In swords, you get what you can pay. For the money, quality designer, steel, & forge set these above others in the price range.
@@YeshuahisKingofKings thanks, I am familiar with sbg. what I would like to see in others is also how sword can take abuse and how rezilient it is. not to destroy it, but to give us some info that is important for buyers, not just for sellers. 9260 steel is supposed to be pretty tough, but is it??? all we know is it is "expertly tempered" and then it is left to us to believe it and spend money
I bought the BRZM Sleeveless Mail Shirt - AB2781. I am a 44 Regular? I bought the 48 inch chest. It does not fit? I practice Bladed, Kalari, Silat, Ninpo Tai Jutsu, and Ancient Chinese Blade Craft Martial Arts. I feel like I am trapped in a Flooding Car! Can any one help?

Don't cut with your left foot forward when cutting from the right.
strong logic 👍

Its quality steel but the factory edge is not a edge
It's more akin to a axe or machete
Drink a shot every time he says the word "versatile"
Nice but I really like my Brutus better! Nice video!
Scales are G-10, not micarta. Also, only the neck of the sheath is kydex. The rest is a fiberglass reenforced plastic.

I'd love to see him make a longsword. Just got the broadsword and am quite satisfied for the price point after a bit of work.

Edge alignment on cutting for fuck sake. It's not a baseball bat
And maybe sprinkle it with a few drops of water. At LEAST 5 minutes before the cutting.😝
Very Blade-esque.
The grips are g10
Not too bad for the price. I’d be curious how it handles compared to my beater condor gladius
Condor gladius has a great handle. This one is a bit thicker than that model.

@@9unslin9er How where they designed?
@@9unslin9er all swords are wall hangers or for fun these days it's not like people are getting into real sword fights.
@@Surteronarto thanks for the travel warning
Hey guys, on the website it shows a single side sharpened on the blade.
that is the cutlass. they look very similar.
I have this sword
Maybe you can do a review of it for us.
So how it is?
Wouod you recommend?

This man has zero edge alignment, it's almost like he's swinging a bat one handed.
