kayali vanilla royale finally getting the attention in deserves! i remember when it first released everyone was complaining about the patchouli in it and saying they were dissapointed its not an intense version of vanilla 28 etc…i always thought its a super sexy gourmand
I love patchouli but I disliked that fragrance and sold it. I saw a lot of positive reviews of it right away!
Smelled Bvlgari Man in black just today at a store, it smelled like soup to me, soup with herbs 😅 like parsley. No idea why, but this perfume smells very different to me every time I smell it.

Hi Josephine, I love the originality of your picks, as I'm always up for discovering new fragrances! Would love to try your Micallef, Miller Harris and Jo Loves recommendations! I have Oud Satin and Silk Moods, and I agree they are killer date-night fragrances. For my upcoming date with my husband, I plan to wear Navitus' Venom of Love, a beautiful dark-chocolate cherry scent with a lovely drydown. Other date-night faves for me are Nishane's Hundred Silent Ways and YSL's Babycat. Rrrrrowwrrr! 😆

Knowing that we have used fragrances for thousands of years, what are your opinions on why? Is it purely to make ourselves more attractive? Is it about self-expression? Are there other reasons? And how do we perceive and respond to other people's fragrances? The movie "Perfume: The Story of a Murderer" adds an interesting twist too, if you've seen it. I think it would be an interesting topic for a video, although the algorithms might disagree...

Hey Hey Josephine! the Golden Gardenia really intrigues me... I am a guy, but I have been on the hunt for a wearable gardenia for years... I have tried many "Unisex" fragrances like Banana Republic's Gardenia & Cardamom which wore very youthful and feminine, Chanel's Gardenia which was beautiful, but just too feminine. Sir Gallahad by Isabey is labeled a men's fragrance but was headache inducingly sweet. And Arquiste's Boutonniere no. 7, which I actually bought a bottle of and tried to love, but couldn't get past the funky Genet that was stuck in the middle of an otherwise very classy men's fragrance. I've even tried other fragrances with gardenia hidden in the middle or base but wasn't able to pick it out enough to recognize it in the fragrance. Any insight would be appreciated?

Also, people may be interested to know that some people don't geothermal rose at all with Hibiscus Mahajad, and I'm one of them. I get super sweet hibiscus tea with the leather. Either way, it's a good one.

I usually wear a fragrance that I feel “myself” inside and out. I tend to wear Mitsouko.
The most perfect wrists and arms ever.
Whenever I decide to buy a new fragrance, I never buy a new fragrance. I always have it sprayed on a pulse point and then wear it for a day or so before I decide to buy it. I don't know if I'm unique in this way, but I have had some nice smelling fragrances turn vile with my body chemistry. for instance, and we're talking many years ago, anything by Elizabeth Taylor smelled good at first and then turned horrifying. Poison (is it even still made?) smelled like poison on me after about three hours.
I am one of those people who can comfortably wear Angel. There are a couple of obscure fragrances that I can wear, but it doesn't matter. I always have to do a test drive!

Interesting story about your viewer who had Hibiscus Mahajad licked off his chest by a stripper, but not surprising at all. I must say (and I must be the lone outlier on this one) it is one of my most hated fragrances of all time and the ONLY place it would seem appropriate to wear would be a strip club or a bordello. That said, I love your reviews and know we won't always agree.
