I love art glass and sold a lot of it( moving away from it unless it's a high asp piece) It looks like Blenko, but I'm not a a blenko expert. I just know they make quality art glass. Also, it's crackle glass. Very good pick ups. The last rites crosses are very good sellers.
@@resellutions You're welcome, I did a few google searches and couldn't find one like yours. The applied eyes looked different on all the ones listed up for sale, but it's very well possible those folks think they have blenko when they don't. You could also sell it as blenko style for around 60-70. Also, this piece is actually a vase! I dunno, it's a cool piece either way. Tho I do wonder if that's why no one picked it up at the estate sale. It's hard to say. I wish glass makers had a more definitive way of marking their pieces instead of making us rely on reference books and google. haha
Omg, I have a huge one that I’ve been tossing around in a box. I thought it was a punch bowl. I believe it is the Blenko! The smaller one! I actually got it at an estate sale for free when they were putting all the boxes out on the curb. Thank you for all your info. I love listening to your videos! They are real❤
Also, the eyes are "applied" on. About three years ago, i sold this INCREDIBLE art glass fish that I still regret selling til this day! It was so beautifully done and super rare but I couldn't find out who the maker was. Might have been Chalet glass. I sold it to a family member so I totally undersold it. but damn, i wish i wouldve kept it. Theres few things I regret selling and i'm not even a fish person. haha.
@@resellutions I wish TH-cam had a feature where you could upload pics in the comments so I could show you. Stunning piece. I needed a knock out, standout piece in one of the collections I was dropping so I had to sacrifice the fish! 😭😭
@SprucedandGussied that’s for sure. I’ve sent feedback about that already and I’m looking in getting on another platform to have a larger community with more tools. No where near there yet cuz I’m so busy with sales, but it’s in the works. Thx
I'm sorry I'm spamming your comments but im commenting as i watch. Blenko marks their products with a sticker label( i think they still do this) . Most vintage art glass was marked that way and over time the labels fall off or are removed.
@@resellutions You're welcome. I think TH-cam is censoring me because some of my comments are not showing up on in your comments section. I left a comment asking you about how much you paid for the David Yurman and then one on your sterling silver cleaning video. Im literally not saying anything rude or offensive. so weird!
I found this online: From 1958 to 1982, Blenko used sandblasted marks. Before and after these years, they used foil stickers, many of which might have worn off over time. Since 1982, they have hand-signed most pieces with the year of production, the designer's initials, or the Blenko name.
I do have a few Blenko pieces, but it certainly doesnt make me an expert Im not sure this is Blenko. The tail and the "feet" are what im looking at.....and the body shape First, the feet on Blenko typically sit higher on the sides of the body, but some of the smaller, earlier pieces did display the feet more underneath the body. For me, its the shape of the tail.....it doesnt look consistent with Blenko, in any year of manufacture. I could be wrong, but i would compare your fish to the catalogs for a more accurate comparison. The 971M Blenko looks similar, but the legs and the tail arent consistent with the one you have. Also, the circumference of the glass between the body and the tail appears a little thick, but its hard to tell without actually seeing it displayed. Please dont take my assessment as Blenko gospel.....I couId be wrong. I would definitely take the time and compare it to the catalogs.
I have looked at a bunch of the Blenko catalogs on their site over the 1950s-1980s and I did not see a 19 inch fish. The tail and the fins it rests on do not look quite right. The Blenko fish have pointer fins to sit on. I saw 25, 22, and 16 inch fish, but not a 19 in. I did not look at every single catalog. My opinion is it is not Blenko
Thank you Tina. I ended keeping it. You should see it in the background of todays video. I really hoped it was, but you can't win them all. Thx for watching! 🤠🇺🇸✌🏼
