Thanks! this is a very useful video. However, backing up your whole sims 4 folder is not necessary since repairing your game through origin will basically reset it, which has the same effect. Backing up the whole folder takes up _a lot_ of extra space too, so i thought i'd share in case anyone doesn't have that much free disk space and is worried about that
No problem, and thanks for the heads up. I figure better say it because i don't want something to go wrong for someone. You are my only comment on this video but I will pin it anyway for the future. Thanks for letting me know.
Yes reset it, but she said this could delete your builds? Wouldnt a game reset just fix the game so you still lost all your builds and families or am I totally on the wrong track? Because my files are about 30gb and copying them takes up soo much space :(
@@aliicendll resetting it would indeed delete everything. What I'm talking about, however, is _repairing_ your game through origin (or if you perhaps don't,,, _have access_ to origin, you can shoot me a dm on insta or email me and I could fill you in on how to do it) which just kinda refreshes some game files, not exactly sure how it works, but I know I've done it without backing up any of my stuff and it's been fine. I don't do it through Origin though so I recommend moving your Mods, saves, and tray folders (or whatever else you'd like to backup) to desktop before repairing
@@yenovefa Oh okay! Yes I was talking about repairing too, I have origin and would do it over there, so far it seems like all my lighting mods etc work just fine! Thank you for the help, I hope I never have to repair my game
ik that this is an old video but I just wanted to say thank you so much. I was reading an installation guide from the milk thistle creator since I wanted that one. it made 0 sense to me. even though I can normally follow writing. your video made it so easy and straight forward for me, and the time stamping also adds accessibility for me, someone with ADHD who cant sit through a bunch of info im not looking for. thank you thank you sm. It really is. You’ll notice a difference just in side your house. If you use no other lighting mod I would recommend Noblu and noglo. They work nicely together and both are easy, you just put them in your mod’s folder
Can anyone help me 😭 everytime I add milk thistle and try to start my game I get a error message saying its unable to start due to my graphics card but I always play on this laptop only difference is the mod 🙃 I made sure I downloaded the correct version to so thats not why thanks in advance 😅
if you already have the lighting mod in your game but it was updated for a new world map, can i just add the file for the new map? or do I have to replace them all? if that makes sense
I just downloaded the noblu and no glo mods, but I can hardly see a difference in my game. The tint does look slightly less blue but that’s about it. Not near as drastic as yours is shown. I did download the “darkest” option because I wanted night to look very black and realistic. Was that the mistake? Was I supposed to use the “gameplay” one? 😞
I'm sorry. I didn't spend too much time on it, but they are pretty subtle in game lighting changes i.e. removing the blue tint from the game lighting. However, you could also try OOTD (OUt Of the Dark) lotharihoe.tumblr.com/post/173488596178/out-of-the-dark-download-google-drive-patreon and also ITTL (Into the light) lotharihoe.tumblr.com/day/2019/11/25/ Maybe see if these work better for you. I been using NoBlu for so long i forget about the other 2. I hope this helps a bit :)

reshade/gshade is a post processing injector, so it allows for different effects like bloom, sharpening, depth of field, etc. lighting mods edit the in game lighting, changing how the game itself handles lighting. and you can use both at once, or just one, depending on what aesthetic you're going for.
@@bris_26 it depends on your system, and to some extent what shaders and such your preset uses. gshade is def better for performance than reshade, at least from my experience. i have a five year old gaming PC, and gshade is fine for me. so it depends what you're running it on.
