he's a natural. I don't think he even knows it. Probably feels very self conscious but much like many nerdy/geeky (and I use that term in a positive way, I'm a nerd!) as soon as you give them a subject they care about. They can make the best videos you'll ever find if you want to know stuff rather than pass the time waiting for some drama.

First of all, great advertisement. I just went back to look at the video, but i couldn't help but to notice a few things, it is 3½ years old with no background sound or visuals with a rather bland topic in my opinion. Plus your will always be biased towards your own performance. - Comparing the two, the older is obviously worse, but i wouldn't call either of them "awkward AF", you do seem to feel more confident in yourself in the latest video though. Keep it up.

shows flip phone keypad and one on the keyboard for the pc and laptop saying it's waiting for it like your mouse is. leaves after making it for the game controllers as well for universal input for full pc on pc and mobile and consoles in cross-play to any device playing said program or game.
I feel bad you wasted your money on it. Touch portal exists and it does everything better, faster, cheaper and fundamentally does more and can do more in future compared to the elgato trash

It's impossible, I'm afraid. If Taran is too far from his macros for too long, he shrivels up, so Linus can only let him out for about an hour every few months.

It’s funny because almost every thing you suggested, like GIF support, multiple stream decks, etc. is now totally in effect. I just got mine, and am learning more cool stuff it does every day!

I saw this video when it was released. Now I realised that almost everything he complained about has been addressed. Even the cable length!! It is now detachable and you can use whatever cable you want in the Mk.2.
Currently using it, both as numpad, and to keep all my japanese typing shortcut key.

Holy shit, do you actually remember where all your macro keys are with now 2 and a half full keyboards of just macro keys? I feel like I'd forget where they were, or that I even made some of them.
You don't see the notes taped over all of the keys? You'd probably get used to it after a while.

Sure, but you still need to read them, and most have full words or multiple words. It'd still be like one of those giant word search puzzles, and even then you might not even be looking at the right keyboard.
Your comment is why you aren't a professional video editor. Get good scrub. If you think ONLY 2 keyboards AND an external deck is "too much to remember" is why you aren't the "Senior Director of"....well..... anything!
CriticoolHit well, it's 2 additional keyboards, so 3 keyboards, plus 2 additional external decks. I'm willing to bet that's on the high side, even for most video editors.

This right here is a recipe for a great video. Give the topic to someone who is really passionate about it and uses the product/service daily. That's why Taran's videos are always so good and to less extent (just my personal bias) Brandon's about cameras. That's why I like listening Linus talk about the company's history, business ideas etc. on WAN Show. All other videos are good, but not really that interesting, scripted by one person, somewhat mindlessly presented by the other.

I think GIFs would be a great option, now that you mention image retention. I doubt the Stream Deck uses OLED technology, but the usage of moving images reduces the chance of image retention, so, hopefully that would be available in a future update.

TARAN - you should have a look at 'Unified Remote', I'm sure there's a spare tablet or two lying around the office, it's fairly easy to program layouts by looking at the examples and then easy to make it run auto hotkey scripts. Basically does the same as the stream deck for how you use it in Premiere but for as cheap as the spare tablet lying around or a cheap android tablet. Fairly sure you can also have multiple devices connected to the server too so you could surround yourself with hotkey tablets.
True Andy, I find that with a 10" tablet in a fixed position on my desk muscle memory gets close enough most of the time. Just one of may things to weigh up along with cost, flexibility and ease of use
Tablet's screen doesnt gives real tactile feedback. Thats one downside.

I own this, and use it for nearly all my software, from shortcuts in a Photoshop Profile to streaming OBS with my OBS profile... and recently I even created a profile for Ableton. This piece of kit can do SOOOO mych more than you realise at firt glance, it's amazing!

while you may not be a programmer this video does show you have the problem-solving skills to become one, I think you would do amazing if you wanted to take the time to learn the languages. as a programmer myself, i can save problem-solving can take you a long way in programming.

Elgato just released an update today that allows you top use MULTIPLE Stream Decks on one machine ANNNNNND automatically switch profiles when a program is brought to the forefront. Best update ever!!!! Happy macro-ing!!

Now this got me intrigued for workflow purposes. I would like it to be at least 20 keys though, and preferably be able to easily "latch" or "hook" more than one of these together to expand the number of available keys while maintaining a single, sturdy unit.
