I am closing in on 65 years young...and I have been a rock/hard rock/heavy metal fan since the mid 1960's. Then...I discover Nightwish in 2019....and I wonder why I haven't heard of them! Now...I listen to them every evening via my Bluetooth headphones!
I am only 62, and from the Netherlands as well, weird that some songs sung by Floor, and not only Ghost Love Score, create tears. Her interpretation of songs is touching.
I'm 66 later this month, and though I had heard of Nightwish and loved Marko's Islander, I had never heard Floor until December 2021, boy did Nightwish/Floor have some impact on me then. The Human. :II: Nature. album has just blown me away. My favourite singer was Sonja Kristina and I still love her singing and she does give me goose bumps, but no where near the effect that Floor has. So much looking forward to Floor's night to night on Sing Minnen song on VOX here in Belgium.

And Floor can even sing the telephone book! The last time we had such a Dutch international star was Audrey Hepburn, so that's a long time ago.
Floor went through severe burnout when her first band After Forever ended. She is an empath meaning she not only feels sympathy for a person in pain or stress, but she actually physically feels it. She is High Sensitive, and because of these things makes her able to truly feel the music or lyrics, but she has to keep it all in check because she doesn't want to go back to that Burnout. I think this song for her is like a pep talk, that she will control her own destiny, she will bring the storm, she will be the eye of the hurricane. I think this song embodies her so well. Great reaction.
After the Fire I am hit by a Storm.Another great song. I sincerely hope this will make it more into mainstream, because lyrically and musically it stands out above much of the music released these days.
I was into music since i was able to walk and boogie, i got into Metal nd Hard rock since i was 12 and the music got heavier and louder but i let it go for some years and when i tried to get back into it i was somewhat nah nothing that really touched on me until i was introduced to Nightwish and it gave me a greater understanding of music and the craft of it and the emotions and skills in the poetry and story telling of music and i came to realise i'm 48 and finally have matured musically. Hey i've suffered from depression for years but your not alone and many of the Nightwish army are in the trenches too. Many of us deal with pain both past and present but i've never come across such incredible kind people as the Nightwish army they are the greatest in my books of people of mixed beliefs all banding together for our love of good music and an amazing band. With Floor touching our hearts with her empathy. Thanks again guys love your reactions and honesty and insightfulness. God bless.

Yes, Wolfman, so disappointed with current music, Floor and her "Brothers in Arms" (Dire Straights reference?), revitalise the music feelings. Mental health was not taken very seriously by the public, until the pandemic hit, now I think as so many people are having difficulties, it should get more coverage. i am in retirement cause menthal illness issues... been since from school, i have HighlySencitivePerson, Unstable personality dissorder Borderline, Schitzo, depression, anxious and panic attacks. i am really glad i found you two!
"Find your shore", an interest that can keep you absorbed, for a while, something different and away from a normal day. Art therapy, you never know what skills you have, until you have some encouragement :)
I'm not a fan of fairly formulaic adult contemporary music...but I agree with Wolfman that the production was top notch and I just find her voice so captivating! She could be speaking to nay-sayers or even to her own self-doubt, in this song. She rises above in lyric. I've been bringing the kittens out onto my patio in their playpen every few days and invite my elderly neighbors to kit-sit while I clean the nursery. My way of helping mental health for some lonesome folks. Love the hat!!
