I don't wanna speak for everyone, but we need more of this! All I ever hear about the Bass VI is how the Beatles used it 60 some yrs ago. Which is cool. But this performance was awesome! Sounds like the speakers are just disintegrating. I loved it!
Sold. Getting one tomorrow. Sold within the first minute of the video. I'm sick of sterile, boring, uber technical demos. As anyone who plays will understand, this video basically said in music language: "....you can get together with a mate or two, have a few bevs, and smash out a super good time".
That was the best thing this channel has ever done. No widdly diddly mastur-playing, no GRRRRRRRLLLLLEEETINGS, no "here's my clean tone," no special offer nonsense, no employee celebrity signature pedals. Just pure, unadulterated rocking out. Both these fellas need to be immensely proud of themselves.
i don't care for what guitar, amp or pedal ... from now on, these two do all the jam segments (because bluesrock jam #56797384 is a thing nobody needs).
@@casperthuresson862 Right, some of them had power chords or tritones :p it's silly to treat a fundamental musical concept with such derision, your music isn't going to be better or worse just because you put a lydian dominant scale with a flat 13 in it.
This was such a great jam. I play my 4 string basses in much the same manner and with tons of fuzz. I've always wanted to be in a 2 bass no guitar band.
@@mixedfruitjamGuitar amp is perfectly suitable for it, especially with the choke switch in, but through a bass amp it’ll get some LOW lows. I’ve a friend who has his with thick strings tuned to drop C one octave down from normal guitar drop C.
My recent recordings need this instrument. I’m buying one today. This performance definitely helped me decide to get one, very cool jam session. Most videos about the Bass VI are fairly boring and don’t really demonstrate what makes the instrument so awesome, but you guys nailed it, your sound is too cool 😎 🤘🏻
I live in Australia, and watched this video a month ago. I’m now the proud owner of a bass Six. Thanks Andertons! Can anyone point me in the right direction as far as tunings, pedals and general set up/ gear used in this video. I’m completely clueless, but so inspired.
Sure. It's standard tuning, the amp is the Orange 30 with a 2x12 cab. The pedals are a compressor, some sort of overdrive (looks like a tube screamer of some sort), there's a big muff, a tape delay and a room type reverb.
Oz makes some great videos! Gotta agree that the Bass VI is awesome! The channel could use some more Doom and Post-Metal centred content. You’ve got Oz right there. Go for it!
Brilliant. At 4.40 it gives me so much vibes from my youth. The sheer power of bands who dared to go against anything. Like Swans live. Some sonic-youth vibes also. I need one of those. And thanks for reminding me of what music i used to love before everything got polished... :)
Oz and Taylor should be let in front of the cameras more often -- this is yet again great fun! Perhaps grab Cici next time she's around and do stuff as a three-piece, that'd be hella fun too! :D Good going, great to have more varied sounds from Andertons! :D
Those finishes look absolutely awesome, that silver sparkle is incredible and while bands The Beatles (John Lennon and George Harrison) and Cream (Jack Bruce) are always mentioned with guys who have used them one player who hardly ever gets brought up is Eric Haydock from The Hollies, who was one of the first bass players to use of them and is criminally underrated as well
Did you hear about that new band? They're a 2 piece. So what, like the White Stripes? Well kinda - dude plays like a pimped out guitar the size of a bass with a bunch of fuzz. Oh cool... Ya man, and the drummer doesn't use hi hats. LOLWTF!?
the demo nobody asked for. the demo everybody needed.

Absolutely agree!
Honestly, with all of the detuned to hell metal out there, I’m surprised we don’t just have bands with 2 BassVIs and drums. It would make more sense.
Jack Bruce also used one with Cream
@@illegal_space_alienthat is a very good point, never thought about it.
Said perfectly.

I hope they gifted that Bass VI to Oz. He deserves it 🔥
I feel like he would have one already 😂
I don't unfortunately 🙃 @ambrosenardini
@@OzPwl There is absolutely no way Oz the Great and Powerful replied to my comment, I am freaking the fuck out rn
Not kidding at all, me and my mate are starting a sludge Doom project with Bass VI and Drums. So this was just magic \m/
Same!!!
Edit: ours is more ambient stoner ish.
we have more blackened doom with progressive elements in drop e on bass vi, check out funeralboys
I have a similar project where I’m doing a triamp rig with a Bass VI, check out Sk!nCape

PREACH!!!!
I like this type of content A LOT, not everything is pentatonics, 60´s and bends
That whole first song was pentatonic though
@@NotAStranger2440but not every song though…

This is the best video you guys have ever done. Period.
That intro was sick. Nice playing, guys. The entire thing just reeks of Melvins and Death From Above, I love it.
Tone is in the rug🔥
holy shit that was HEAVY
LOL
Yes Oz! I’m all over this. Sounds killer and like the speakers are going to fall out their arse.
As someone who pays Bass VI like a low-tuned guitar, I highly support this video.
As a long time guitar player who has only dabbled in a bass a handful of times I absolutely NEED one of this things right now
Props to the drummer. Killing it.
Smackin'

Yezzer -Palindrome
I’ve been waiting for another bass vi video with fuzz!!! This is killer
Oh great, now I urgently need to buy a Bass VI. You people are the worssst.
ohhhhh hell yeah. the internet needs more oz (and taylor)
Finally a demo video from a music store where they aren't playing lightly distorted pentatonic blues jams. These guys should be a permanent fixture
Indeed.
me: *furiously searches facebook marketplace for a Bass VI*
They’re really cool. Just bought one recently and have been having a blast with mine, it’s hard to put down lol.
do you want mine
Would love to try one. Do you recommend playing through a guitar or a bass amp?

The best video ever of the history of TH-cam.
Andertons n.1, the only that made that type of content!
Every video I see Oz will be in I watch, others are a toss up if I watch or not. He plays and demos stuff I would need for what I play.
I watched the entire video. Captivating. I wanted it to end in a smashed up bass and a drum set lit on fire. That would have been epic.
Hell yeah brother Oz, killin it.
The video we've all been waiting for 🙏 Oz nails it! And the drummer, too! Regards from Germany 🤘
Bloody Brilliant!!!!
That silver sparkle is soooo nice. Props to the bassist/guitarist too, performing like he is on Woodstock! 🤘
Performing like he's never taken lessons is more like it. God that was awful!
Anything with Oz playing it will always sound mint
Phenomenal. These guys need to have a regular segment
check what roxferry can do , combo bassVI and drum too
"These guys need to have a regular segment"
Yeah. On some OTHER channel. One that has nothing to do with music.
@@Great-Documentaries I'm afraid I don't understand your point
Yessss! Looking forward to more music from Oz on Bandcamp soon. Love it!
Oz is my favorite. Thank you, may we have more?
I agree that he should become a staple
What a treat to see such joy and passion in a performance - well done Oz and Tay Tay - and yes I want one now 🤘👍🤣
Saw Oz in the thumbnail, smashed the like button immediately.
Something for the kids and those of us stuck in the 70's! I love it! I'm all for it!
This is what music should be.
Jamming together, just let the music take you away.❤❤
Tayler and Oz that was sick!

This is what Bass VIs are for. 🔥
No wonder they are so unpopular then.
Fuck me, that was awesome! And it worked like a charm, ordered one immediately 😂
We need more like this on the channel. More alternative heavy stuff!
LOVE THIS! Oz and Tayler you guys RULE!
This is the greatest product demo ever. Take my money.
You 2 are simply amazing!
Awesome chemistry!!! Sounds Amazing 🎸🥁
Listen to them go...Nice job guys.
I think you two inspired a lot of youth with this show.
My phone speakers can't handle the violence
Awesome jam! I really fancy a Bass VI now.
