I came from the ranch channels, but after learning you were Matt’s brother I couldn’t help but look into your channel. I really like gaming(particularly ghost recon which you do a lot of) and airsoft. You deserve way more subs, but you at least got +1 from me.

Good FPS, no.
You get borderline acceptable FPS, on small to medium sized servers, with few and carefully selected scripts running.
Arma is running better today than it did a few years ago, but it's nowhere near "good" and defending the poor performance is just sad.
Arma is *heavily* single threaded, so you need a CPU with really, really good single core performance. Many modern processors don't have that, for example Threadripper - which in Arma would perform similar to a Intel Pentium G4520.
Arma runs like shit, and I say that running it from an i7 4790k OC:ed to 4.8 GHz
It's an amazing and unique game, but its performance is nowhere near acceptable.
mackan072 , that's your experience on your system. I can play any KoTH server max settings @1440p above 60fps. It does dip occasionally when there are a bunch of aircraft falling out of the sky but it averages well above 60. Again, CPU clock speed is key and the next best thing is to run off an SSD
Just open your task manager when you play and check if you think that your hardware utilization is within what you think are reasonable levels. With you playing on 1440p, it may - the GPU may very well be your limiting factor (depending on GPU), but then again Arma isn't very graphically demanding and you could probably achieve that resolution with a GTX 970 or similar without limiting your performance via the GPU.
The fact that you can play the game in 1440p is not affected by your CPU, that is purely your GPU pulling its weight. Try and changing the resolution down to 720p, you will not se any difference in performance, as long as it's not the part GPU holding you back.
If your GPU is not working at 100%, then the CPU is holding it back, not giving it new frames to render. This is the truth most people playing Arma is living with. It does not matter if they are having 12 or 60+ fps. I play with a far above average frame rate, and I still do not think the performance is acceptable. A game which won't use the full power of your hardware is a game with performance issues, especially when it causes dips far below 60.

I try to play on the same server but its hard because for some reason All German servers i played on just disappeared. and most servers i play on are full reguarly :(

Cappe_YT my standart koth server was down for two days because sa-matra messed up with the updates but it is back up again. what i found out helps you too is when you are good and have a name noone can forget too quickly. i had a sniperrampage and killed 38 guys in a row. the next game everyone wanted to know how PropagandaPanda was killing people from 2km+... you just have to become good. the people aspire good players and will want to play with you. the epm servers will be up again soon too if they aren't already. i found a lot of friends on them.

I'm not one to do this often but with any .50 cal sniper there is NO WAY irl ge would be able to stand stable straight up with minimal recoil. Isnt arma supposed to be a slight simulation?

The armor in King Of The Hill is kind of an issue - Caliber is king.
I've played KOTH more than I probably should have and I have enjoyed it thoroughly - but due to the immense amount of armor and desync, random stutters and warping happening - it's often difficult to get enough rounds on target to effectively kill with the smaller calibers.
5-56 or lower caliber rounds are generally not competitive and the only real reason to use such low caliber rounds are to derp around.

This is the difference between having a shit fps and a good fps for Arma. Because movement in Arma can be so sudden (Not helped by the netcode), sometimes your aim can be completely put off by the amount of distance a person can cover between frames when your fps is low. Also the reason I want to upgrade to Intel i7, for other games and the fact that I'll actually be able to play Arma and enjoy it at the same time.
